  • My quest for a DoorDash 70% acceptance rate continues with my sights set on the Diamond Program and Top Dasher if I can withstand all the bad orders DoorDash throws my way. Hopefully the earnings are worth it once I get there.

    As top dasher (and also preparing for the new tier system coming my way), I’m newly experimenting with basically taking everything over 3 weekdays so that I can be freer to be choosier on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
    Just starting with that this week (starting after Labor Day), so I don’t know the experience just yet.
    Hopefully, with my AR already over 70%, even on the three weekdays, I can still get a large order in the evening enough times to offset some of the bad orders so that those weekdays aren’t pure torture (like hell week can be - trying to scramble from a very low AR to above 70%).
    But we’ll see.

  • @ju9piter
    @ju9piter 8 місяців тому +5

    Let's just be honest here. Doordash created "Top Dasher" so that drivers would carry no-tip and low-tip orders. That's the primary reason this program exists. Of course your hourly rate would decrease a little bit. I'm also curious how much your $ per mile rate decreased, because I would expect that would decrease a lot. The only thing that might go up is your trips per hour. They want you working! That's the other reason they created it...keep drivers moving. If it's less stressful to just work for one company and to accept 70% or more of the orders, then maybe this is the program for you. I know that I'm not interested in it, and I'm gonna keep cherry picking because I like to have control over where I drive and how much I'm making per trip!

  • @AetasX
    @AetasX 9 місяців тому

    Good series. Though most of the time I see these comparisons they only talk of earnings and not necessarily profit when all the longer mileage orders have to be accepted to maintain your rate. When I started I felt miserable having to take like 10 mile offers in the middle of a metropolitan area though I did get way more offers which I fixed through just multi-app.

    I don't know if this true or not, but hearing from drivers that were in the traditional LOP before the tier system reached their market if if they drive to a zone that doesn't have the tier system in their market they get the LOP back as it seems it's not in all zones within a market (as of yet)
    I just got in the LOP after a year and a half on the waiting list. So I hope it takes a long time to reach my market and maybe it will earn by time has been around for awhile and it still hasn't reached my market.
    I have a theory that Doordash is letting more drivers in the traditional LOP in markets that don't have the tier system to give them a taste of it so when the tier system hits their market they will be incentivized to pursue the tier system to get it back, but that's just my speculation.

  • @bill3714
    @bill3714 9 місяців тому +4

    Inspired by you I went from 12% to 73% by taking just about everything. Once I got to 50% I did get more orders but most were still that $4-$7 type which I never took before. I did notice you don’t get as many ‘catering bag’ orders. My theory is you’re constantly on smaller orders so you don’t see them. I guess it comes down to how you want to dash. Stay busy with $20 orders to come along. Another thing is most of the ‘Diamond’ orders are the same ones I saw before just without the high pay label on them.

    The guys who make these videos never just want to flat out hammer and tell the honest truth how awful the TopTrasher program is because they have pipe dreams Doordash sees the video and slips them some money. Nothing against Jacob I'm not singling him out because I watch some of his vids he's a good guy, but that's the facts. Reality is Doortrash came up with a great scheme for "suckers" like he admits he is in the video, to take no tip orders and UA-cam dudes aren't the right guys to listen to on these feedbacks. Jacob has a hard time just flat out telling you it's not worth it, but as you hear in his vids (which he's one of the few I give a consistent listen to) he is an honest guy and tries to sweet talk it while admitting "I make less money but it's less stressful".

    I am floating above 50% and had dropped from over 70% and i am noticing a difference but it had been really bad for about a month and then i learned that could have been because some people were using a glitch i had no clue about that supposedly has been fixed (hopefully). Cause those regular dashers honestly were hurting with excessive lower order neglecting to put it gently, to get there acceptance rate up, while i am trying to do it the doordash way. I just basically accept anything thats $1 or more a mile because i draw the line at paying out of my gas pocket to deliver a customer their order.

My first two orders on Saturday morning or extremely high-paying. $58 for 30 minutes of work and $62 for a batch. I’m averaging at least $30 an hour for the past few days. I’m only a part-time Dasher, but I didn’t realize how easy it would be to get 100 deliveries in a month.

  • @peterlee3467
    @peterlee3467 9 місяців тому

    Why jnot just do 13 shop and pay orders per week to get top dasher? Beats doing hell week and the end of each month. I already average about 10 shop and pays per week, so just doing a few extra to get top dasher is nothing - and I don't have to spend a whole week doing shitty orders.

  • @jeffw1267
    @jeffw1267 9 місяців тому +4

    Even a month may be too short to find the truth about being a Top Dasher, because statistical analysis requires large amounts of data. Like if you made a million deliveries as Top Dasher, and another million NOT being Top Dasher, both during the same time period, you could be confident in making a comparison.
    The problem is that Doordash is always changing the terms of the experiment, and you can't know HOW they are changing.
    The additional miles you drive while taking over 70% of the offers will incur a cost over time... but you're busier and so the time will pass quicker. You don't have to stress so much while sitting there and declining orders and making nothing.
    I think in the near future, Doordash will set up the algorithm so that cherrypickers will not be able to make a living. We'll see.

      Top Dasher or the Platinum rating is a reward for picking up the order and delivering it in a timely and efficient manner.
      I've seen drivers with a stacked order pick up one order and leave because the second wasn't ready. That's just rude to the customers. I've seen drivers cancel orders because the order wasn't ready.

There is no obligation to tip and as the economy crumbles as the dollar bill crashes I could only imagine more customers will claim there food was never delivered or a bunch of customers that leave no tips. Is it that Door dash has 40% of customers that order door dash is because they ''themselves'' cant afford to drive to get there own food and take advantage of the service? I been searching to see if accepting garbage pays out in the end, I mean is there really an award? An award to pay that driver more and better orders. It’s the most low key disrespectful job there is! Fuk all these platforms I pray they either pay better or go out of business and tbh I hope they burn! Even at 200 a day isn’t worth it!!!! Cost of gas car maintenance taxes people are in a loosing industry. Let’s not talk about the 80 hours online vs the actual 10 hours active lmao it’s bs too many desperate people saturated this industry! 200 a day was a cheap day back in the day smh
