I suppose it’s really easy to make that much but the problem is you can’t really ask Customer if they need any more items or substitutions, because that would take time away from your day

I had a customer request me as a preferred shopper and did not tip the 3 times I shopped for her. Well I can no longer shop for her.

I dont understand the scheduling thing...why they make you pick a schedule time because if the order dollar amount don't makes sense the driver the rejects it anyway

Im about 2 weeks in, with some of the delivery only items, ex. the best buy orders I'm afraid to accept because of not knowing what you'll have to deliver..are they usually on the smaller side or heavy items?
Surprisingly small! It’s like charges etc. The only heavy item I had was an ac and the person at the delivery carried it .

Shipt does bonus to make money and generally does not offer a fair compensation for the amount of orders requested. The math doesn’t add up. And yes I do shipt and no I’m not complaining and yes I still do shipt. But reality is reality.
I love Shipt as a side hustle. On holidays I’m able to work the early shift and take advantage of the promos.

Great for you! Your sign paperwork should explain how to do the taxes they recommend saving 30% from each weeks pay.

This was my max it was like 1800 and some change. I had over 3k orders and a month later I got booted so just pace yourself

I live in Az. Many cities in the West are very spread out, takes a lot of time and gas and a lot of aggravation driving in traffic.
How do you shop 4 orders? How do you tell if a delivery is going to an apartments.
Wow about the cities in the West! Unfortunately, Shipt may not be the gig for you! I usually do not have to go more than 30 minutes and the traffic on the East Coast (especially in my area) is not bad.
The way I can shop for 4 orders is if it is busy and they are available. I can grab all 4. Shipt does not encourage this unless you know you can shop all 4 without compromising your level of customer service! Hope this helped!

I saw some videos where customers want you to go in there house I don’t like that even with Istacart they say no , have you had customers like that ? I’m new kind of nervous to take my first order
Dude these ppl do NOT want u in their house …. It would be in the delivery notes & then I wouldn’t accept the order. I’m on most apps & did this for 2 years & no one has asked me to come in their house. Lady told me just throw it in the driveway the other day bc it was a large order I could tell she felt bad (I didn’t feel bad? I chose the job u know)…. I still walked it to the door… but just a example of more then likely how ppl are. They’re not like that. The internet is crazy. There’s separate services for that, I think Amazon n Walmart put ppls groceries away now. Just crazy lol

did you made $1800 a month 3 days part time? It was not clear and I it was hard to make sense of able to make $1800 in 3 days.
Sorry about that. I made $1800 in one month only working 3 days a week. Those days being Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8-1

Am I the only one who doesn’t work for tips? My base rate should be enough… I’m going to give everything the same effort , sometimes it’s good , sometimes it’s not. I do not want to depend on tips or hate anyone who can’t … I make pretty decent tho so I can’t complain. I’m not gona do no work if it’s tip dependent n then be mad. It should be extra

Yea you do spend the money on gas, etc. But as a 1099 self employed person, you get tax advantages that a regular employee doesn’t. If you spend money on gas and beat your car as a traditional employee with a traditional job, you just lose that money (after you’ve already been taxed on the income you used to pay for those expenses.)
As a 1099 self employed person, filing a schedule C with your taxes, you get access to additional tax benefits. Your gas, car maintenance, a portion of your phone bill, any necessary software you use, clothes, and anything else you purchase to maintain your gig position - those are all expenses you can claim to reduce your overall tax burden at the end of the year.
In my opinion, even if you have a traditional job, it’s smart to do a 1099 gig so you can take advantage of tax benefits that you otherwise couldn’t. As long as you earn $600 with one of the gig apps, you’ll get a 1099 at tax time. You file taxes the same way except you also add a schedule c form and voila! Most people who do this as an actual side gig, like she does, end up benefiting in the end. 👍
@@lauralou4852 disagree. Then they cannot qualify for anything kind of loan for they wrote all their income off w your holy grail expenses your just bored us with. Standard deduction is going to be around all the time wasted on keeping track of all those expenses .
Why do you think hertz is preying on gig workers w the rent weekly Tesla and other cars per week. Because the gig worker cannot qualify for anything
