A detail i really like about the “Hello there” is that it’s much more similar to Alec Guinness’ delivery from Episode IV than Ewan McGregor’s from Episode III. Less of a cocky playfulness, much more of a friendly gesture.

The fact that Ahsoka and Obiwan are like the only 2 force users that can rival vaders power at this time is so cool to me. They each get a half of the helmet, but Ahsoka chooses to stay for anakin while obi wan lets him go. Says a lot about the feelings of a jedi and how Ahsoka isn’t one. I also just love all the call backs, the “then you will die”, both saying anakin when they see his face, even the framing of the beginning of the fight. Some people may think it copies too much but I think that seeing how outside of padme these were the two people he was closest to, it makes sense they would have similar confrontations. It also just makes anakin feel much more cold in the rebels fight because he has been through this before, all I can think is him having flashes of Obiwan when Ahsoka ignites her sabers. Really wish Ahsoka would’ve atleast been referenced seeing how much her duel with Vader influenced this fight.

Vader duel wielding the sabers in front of a kneeling Reva reminded me a lot of the same scene when Anakin disarmed and subsequently beheaded Dooku in RotS. I honestly was surprised at the time Vader didn’t lob off Reva’s head too.
The fact that each episode mirror each movie was amazing and not something I had thought about before. Also, "Gungan snacks" becomes a lot darker if it doesn't mean "Snacks for Gungans", but rather "snacks made out of Gungans".
I didn't care for this series & thought it made a new problem for every one it solved, but I will give it this: it did make Obi-Wan calling him "Darth" make sense to me. Before it always felt like the little writing goof-up that it was...he used it like a first name because originally that's what it was meant to be. But now I can see it more for the retroactive explanation: it's just Obi-Wan using the title passive aggressively. Like, you don't even get a name anymore. This is what you chose to be, so this is all that you are. I think I'd heard people try to explain it away that way before, but I couldn't hear it until McGregor sold it.

When Leia asks Obi Wan if he is her father I took it as a subtle nod towards the line that the actual body actor for earth Vader spoke “No, Obi wan is your father” which was just said to persevere the secrecy of the twist on set

It's why I don't really have a problem with the Legends content being dropped from canon. You can still go back and enjoy it if it's what you prefer, and with a few exceptions, there's not much stopping new writers bringing these characters and stories back.
I love how they respect legends to such a deep extent even though they don't need too, they could have given Leia's relatives new names, but they put in the effort to stick to something that's not even canon.
Well honestly it probably wasn't too much effort. Like you said, they didn't need to but at the same time, the names were already there and fans who'd recognize it would appreciate it so why wouldn't they?

I came up with an idea for a droid named DZ-13E, or Dizzy for short. He is a Droid that was once owned by the Empire, but got hijacked by Han Solo when he was 12.
A detail I liked was Obi Wan’s lightsaber form in that last duel. It signals his return to his former self before he fueled with Anakin the first time.
I think the ship on the platform behind obi-wan on alderaan when he returns is a Lancer-class pursuit craft, which is the ship of Ketsu Onyo, Sabine Ren's Sister
I found it interesting that Quinlan Vos was using the path. Especially after he lost his love/partner Asaj Ventress I was curious if he went all the way bad or ended up staying unaffiliated.
I also liked the way the different colors of lightsaber illumination cast on their faces as they spoke (after the defeat). It reflected their sentences and the way the characters must have felt.
Q&A: Does Kenobi definitely end the idea that Luke's green lightsaber uses Quigon's crystal, since Qui gon's lightsaber was not with the other two at the start of the series?
Unlike Mando I’m not too sure on a Kenobi season 2. Would love it of course but Kenobi’s ending with Qui Gon was so thematically perfect I’m hard-pressed as to thinking of any ideas of what could be done for Season 2.

Obi Wan's character arc from this season has left him very much like ANH Obi Wan so we wouldn't get much personal development there. I doubt he'd get tangled up in more big adventures using his lightsaber and force powers etc because I think that'd just lead to more empire stuff, and I honestly think less might be more when it comes to the empire and Obi Wan right now. He definitely shouldn't meet Vader again until ANH. Also I think getting him mixed up in the crime of Tatooine would just be messy. He is going somewhere though, a little walking tour of the planet with long conversations with Qui Gon about the force and universe and life and balance and etc etc. That might make for an interesting short story, but I'm not sure it'll be very entertaining as another whole season of this show.
I also find the first fight between Darth Vader and obi-Wan Kenobi very reminiscent of the first fight between maule and Obi-Wan in the clone wars Some of the fighting styles and the lighting and the scene at the end with the fire reminds me a lot of the fight in the clone wars Even down to the fact that both Vader and maul tries to draw out Obi-Wan by killing random civilians And the shot of Vader standing in front of the fire reminds me a lot of the shot of Kylo Ren standing in front of fire in the opening scene of the force awakens

I know there's a bunch of references that i noticed and were not in this video,but the one i can think of right now is that we see Vader in the bacta tank a few times before the fight with Obi-wan and he doesn't have the scar on his head that we see in "Return of the Jedi" but after seeing Kenobi slashing his helmet right where that scar should be, we know now that's how he got it. Also right before the fight he says " i must face him, alone" just like he did on "A New Hope" Vader also uses the force to crack the ground and making a hole, putting himself on the high ground. After his mask is broken we can hear that weasel sound when he breathes just like in Rebels and Return of the Jedi. Vader tells Obi-wan that He did not kill Anakin Skywalker, that Vader himself killed him, which is what Obi-wan tells Luke when he asks what happened to his father.
The only thing that does not click in my head continuity-wise is why does Vader say in TNH to Obi-Wan that "When I left you I was but a learner. Now I am the master.".. Even if he means when they said goodbye before parting ways in ROTS, still as comrades, he was far from a learner's status by then.
Here's the way I interpret it, hopefully this helps: Throughout the series (as well as the movies), we see Anakin/Vader think in terms of raw power levels - this even applies to the entire empire, from Inquisitors (Reva's power struggle, for example), down to regular officers (like the one Tala intimidates), and culminates in Palpatine shutting Vader's ambitions down. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan has repeatedly proven that wisdom and discipline overcome simple power (after all, he has defeated the most dark side users, while consistently the underdog). So, when Ben defeats Vader again (against all odds), just like he did on Mustafar, Vader is left with the impression that he himself simply wasn't strong enough yet, that he still had to learn. Ironically, the only thing he couldn't learn, was to gain and rely on wisdom, as that's kind of impossible to Sith.
In ep 5, many of the stormtroopers of the attack on the base are from the 501st Legion, the costume club. They have a mention in the credits and ANH armor instead of the newer type first seen in Rogue One. This is the second time this has happened, as they were with Gideon's reinforcements in the last episodes of Mando s1. I hope this will keep up, as a fellow trooper in europe it's fun to see. :P

They have dropped too many hints for Corran Horn, so either the show writers are messing with us or their hinting at Corran Horn in Star Wars Rogue Squadron. The obi-wan having a brother is a reference to the Obi-wan books in Legends. I don't remember the name of the series, but back when he was an apprentice to Qui gon. After joining the Jedi he did visit his parents again once or twice. (think parent visitation days) On one of those visits he learned he had a non-forcesensative little brother. He mentions feeling disconnected from this family and that the Jedi and Qui-gon are more like a family to him. It being a little brother is most likely supposed to mirror Anakin becoming like a little brother to him in the future.

I tend not to associate Obi-Wan's "Alternatives to Fighting" line to A New Hope, but rather the Clone Wars microseries where he uses a bunch of tiny bombs to take out droid forces, making things less fun for Anakin because he couldn't just go in and slice them up.

Unlike Mando I’m not too sure on a Kenobi season 2. Would love it of course but Kenobi’s ending with Qui Gon was so thematically perfect I’m hard-pressed as to thinking of any ideas of what could be done for Season 2.
@@myriadmediamusings I think if there were to be a season two it would be more based on all the big remaining Jedi, basically Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Qui-Gon as a force ghost. It would focus more on the training and be a little less hectic, idk tho
@@cotopaximusic We definitely don't need it, and I'm not sure where else they can really go. Obi Wan's character arc from this season has left him very much like ANH Obi Wan so we wouldn't get much personal development there. I doubt he'd get tangled up in more big adventures using his lightsaber and force powers etc because I think that'd just lead to more empire stuff, and I honestly think less might be more when it comes to the empire and Obi Wan right now. He definitely shouldn't meet Vader again until ANH. Also I think getting him mixed up in the crime of Tatooine would just be messy.
He is going somewhere though, a little walking tour of the planet with long conversations with Qui Gon about the force and universe and life and balance and etc etc. That might make for an interesting short story, but I'm not sure it'll be very entertaining as another whole season of this show.

I also find the first fight between Darth Vader and obi-Wan Kenobi very reminiscent of the first fight between maule and Obi-Wan in the clone wars
Some of the fighting styles and the lighting and the scene at the end with the fire reminds me a lot of the fight in the clone wars
Even down to the fact that both Vader and maul tries to draw out Obi-Wan by killing random civilians
And the shot of Vader standing in front of the fire reminds me a lot of the shot of Kylo Ren standing in front of fire in the opening scene of the force awakens

@@vincentt2309 yeah, that's more likely... it's probably just burned into my mind as being from TFU given how many times I've played the Death Star level.
I know there's a bunch of references that i noticed and were not in this video,but the one i can think of right now is that we see Vader in the bacta tank a few times before the fight with Obi-wan and he doesn't have the scar on his head that we see in "Return of the Jedi" but after seeing Kenobi slashing his helmet right where that scar should be, we know now that's how he got it. Also right before the fight he says " i must face him, alone" just like he did on "A New Hope"
Vader also uses the force to crack the ground and making a hole, putting himself on the high ground.
After his mask is broken we can hear that weasel sound when he breathes just like in Rebels and Return of the Jedi.
Vader tells Obi-wan that He did not kill Anakin Skywalker, that Vader himself killed him, which is what Obi-wan tells Luke when he asks what happened to his father.
The only thing that does not click in my head continuity-wise is why does Vader say in TNH to Obi-Wan that "When I left you I was but a learner. Now I am the master.".. Even if he means when they said goodbye before parting ways in ROTS, still as comrades, he was far from a learner's status by then.
Here's the way I interpret it, hopefully this helps:
Throughout the series (as well as the movies), we see Anakin/Vader think in terms of raw power levels - this even applies to the entire empire, from Inquisitors (Reva's power struggle, for example), down to regular officers (like the one Tala intimidates), and culminates in Palpatine shutting Vader's ambitions down. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan has repeatedly proven that wisdom and discipline overcome simple power (after all, he has defeated the most dark side users, while consistently the underdog). So, when Ben defeats Vader again (against all odds), just like he did on Mustafar, Vader is left with the impression that he himself simply wasn't strong enough yet, that he still had to learn. Ironically, the only thing he couldn't learn, was to gain and rely on wisdom, as that's kind of impossible to Sith.

In ep 5, many of the stormtroopers of the attack on the base are from the 501st Legion, the costume club. They have a mention in the credits and ANH armor instead of the newer type first seen in Rogue One. This is the second time this has happened, as they were with Gideon's reinforcements in the last episodes of Mando s1. I hope this will keep up, as a fellow trooper in europe it's fun to see. :P

This may not qualify as an Easter Egg, but the moon Obi-Wan and Vader led on is a nod to Dave Filoni and the Last Airbender. Dave worked on that anime show and the showdown between Aang and the Fire Lord was fought among such rock formations. Even down to the throwing chunks of rock at each other.

They have dropped too many hints for Corran Horn, so either the show writers are messing with us or their hinting at Corran Horn in Star Wars Rogue Squadron. As much as I would like to see Denis Lawson reprise his role as Wedge Antilles (maybe he appears as a general?), I can see a new actor portraying a young Corran Horn.

The obi-wan having a brother is a reference to the Obi-wan books in Legends. I don't remember the name of the series, but back when he was an apprentice to Qui gon. After joining the Jedi he did visit his parents again once or twice. (think parent visitation days) On one of those visits he learned he had a non-forcesensative little brother. He mentions feeling disconnected from this family and that the Jedi and Qui-gon are more like a family to him. It being a little brother is most likely supposed to mirror Anakin becoming like a little brother to him in the future.

I tend not to associate Obi-Wan's "Alternatives to Fighting" line to A New Hope, but rather the Clone Wars microseries where he uses a bunch of tiny bombs to take out droid forces, making things less fun for Anakin because he couldn't just go in and slice them up.
