Thank you so much Garth and thank you for your generosity. I really enjoyed Peter Lugers and going in, I was concerned it may be a tourist trap, but was pleasantly surprised
Thank you so much and very generous! I'm really grateful just to get to visit and share these places. It was quite a nice experience at Peter luger's but yes, it did result in a hefty bill 😉Thank you so much again 🙏
Hi Tim, Thank you for your well balanced review of Peter Luger in Brooklyn. I’m a recent subscriber to your channel but I have watched your videos before. I am always pleased I am with your objective critique of restaurants. Peter Luger receives more criticism than most eateries because of relatively small things. I care about the food and the ambiance. Thank you for always being a gentleman. Best Wishes, Peter
Thank you so much, Peter! It’s a lot of fun and I definitely don’t take this too seriously. It’s great to get to experience these great places and I just go as a regular tourist… Definitely not food critic or reviewer. Really nice experience and the servers and hosts had a bit of character that made it a lot of fun.
My friend and I used to go almost every week. I had my first credit card from their restaurant as they did not accept bank credit cards. We used to ask to eat upstairs where we had two regular waiters ,Otto and Werner Once when we finished eating and they asked if we wanted dessert we said Yes, another double steak. When they served us the second steak, we saw several other waiters looking at us. Asking Otto what was going on and he said in the history of the restaurant no one ever ordered two double steaks back to back. Werner came back to the table with a new order of French Fries which he proudly said was "on the House".
Woah! They really do a great job with the porter house. That would be such an epic meal and I would have loved to see their reactions! I really did enjoy the service there… they all have their unique charm. I had to order the porterhouse (for two) as that’s the smallest size it comes in and totally expecting to pack up what I couldn’t finish, but was surprised I finished it - it was so good and loved the contrast between the tenderloin and striploin. Really impressed on your dessert!!!!
Oh good gosh, Tim. I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry LOL. I mean, i know some people carry cash like that, but i sure don't. I had to laugh, i love to gnaw on the bone... probably more than the steak!! Hope you enjoyed the leftovers ❤. Thanks for taking us along, this was a fun one and thanks for a nice midweek break. Hope you have a great rest of your week PS I would have snuck the bread home with me too, that looked so good 😊
That was such a loss opportunity… The Brad would’ve been delicious. The bone was surprisingly meaty and very enjoyable. Yeah, I can’t imagine carrying a lot of cash, especially if it was a large table.
Tim, I so love the way you enjoy your meals and dessert and you finish all of it or take it back to your room. I love a man with a hearty appetite. 😊 ❤❤❤
Oh, it was a lot of food. I couldn’t finish the potatoes. I took that home along with the porterhouse bone, which had quite a bit of meat on it. The dessert was OK and I managed to finish it as I stayed there for a while, calling friends to bail me out.😂. That meal was actually meant for two people and I think that would’ve been appropriate.
Oh my goodness! That meal is AMAZING! You are always so kind to compliment the host, servers and staff. Thank you Tim for another tantalizing video. I’m hungry!! God Bless!
Tim! How are you doing buddy? Nice to have you back in NYC! Been a while since I've been to Lugers but in the past, I definitely enjoyed it! If you're still in town may I recommend giving Christos steakhouse in the Queens area a try? It used to be quite good but since it's oldschool it gets overlooked for newer steakhouses now. Who knows, if you try it one day I may even meet you while walking by it, haha. Keep up the positive vibes, Tim! Cheers!
Oh, you’d be happy to know that, luckily for me and the customers, I did not have to work in the kitchen to pay off the debt. Apparently US labour laws prevent Canadians from doing dishes.I I don’t think I’m supposed to say, but under very special circumstances, credit Maybe used
Oh, I totally get it… It’s very different with the camera out front and present. Really enjoyable though and I do understand that most places put their best foot forward.

10:45 Perfect burger, I love the medium raw. No unnecessary ingredients, just meat, onion and cheese. It only need to be eaten. It's an old and quiet area, perfect for eating quietly without having to yell at each other. The steak looks good and so do the baked potatoes. The only thing missing is sauces such as mayonnaise or bbq sauce. But other than that, it looks very good and tasty. And if there is any leftover, you can eat it later in the day on bread or in a salad. Appelstrudel yummy with Whipped cream In German it is called Schlagsahne lol. And the coins are given to children here, it's chocolate coins and this is in the Netherlands at Sinterklaas and in German at Christmas.
Tim, you are responsible for my Peter Luger steak sauce addiction. Any of you out there who haven’t been addicted (thanks to Tim), you can buy bottles of the fabulous juice online. This is not an advertisement. Honestly, the PL steak sauce will change your life.
Thank you so much. It’s definitely a tourist destination and a bit of a cliché of the classic steakhouse but I absolutely loved it. That porterhouse was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.
I live in Brooklyn and stop by PL every now and then. I had the burger in the early summer of this year. Sat at the bar my last time and also had it med/rare. So so at best....in my opinion.
I had lunch with my family at Peter Luger and that review was pretty accurate. Rude service! The restaurant was completely empty but we were seated behind two loud guys complaining about not having money and to make things worse the waiters in front of us were arguing about tip money. I honestly couldn’t enjoy the food with these people complaining and arguing. I can’t even remember the taste of the steak. The only thing I remember was the top being heavily seared and burnt. I would consider giving it another try but not anytime soon.
That steak was only seared on one side as you can you see 14:07 in, also looks unevenly cooked from both sides. I am sure you liked it but we both know that is not how you serve a steak at a high end restaurant. Leaving this channel because this episode seemed bought. I have more confidence in Pete's review right now.
In Vegas, they showed me the grills used and yeah, it’s seared on the top and a very high temp. The reference to Wells’ is all in good fun. I really enjoyed it and having a camera does elicit a “best foot forward” experience. Definitely not a food reviewer here; just sharing the experience.
So I am a diehard Peter Luger fan and I am ecstatic you had a great experience but I wonder if a lot of your experiences at most restaurants are a bit atypical since the staff knows you are recording? I remember watching a few of your previous reviews and you already knew the names of the staff, so I am wondering since the waitstaff knows you are recording, are they are putting their best foot forward with service as well as the food?
Yeah, many times that is the case. After going in restaurant, I do ask if it’s okay to take pictures and videos but don’t mention anything about UA-cam; but with the camera present, it’s hard to get a “typical” experience. However, I’m happy to say that while I was there, Youn and Catalin were consistently serving guests in the same manner. Though I suspect they were a bit more courteous when my card was declined.😉
Tim, your venture to NYC @ Peter Lugers is really good! Once again the way you approached it is a treat of mouth-wstering burger and steak treat! The quality and taste are unmatched! When will be my turn? Thank you again for sharing your venture with all of us!
Thank you so much for your kind comment and an absolute treat to get to visit and share the original Peter Luger’s. They really did a good job, and it certainly lived up to what I was expecting. And exceptionally great and fun servers. I hope you get a chance to visit if you’re in the area.
Thank you so much and it was a really enjoyable experience. By no means am I a food critic. Just very grateful to get to visit and share these experiences and it’s my hobby.
Tim, first time commenter. I enjoy your reviews as they are well-paced and your demeanor and voice add to the ambiance of your videos. Your payment predicament is the primary reason I avoid this restaurant (I live in Brooklyn nearby); they do not take credit cards, which is an enormous hassle for the customer. I have travelled to far-flung places such as barely inhabited islands in Thailand, where ramshackle roadside food stands take Mastercard/Visa. There is no reasonable excuse for why a pricey, well-known steakhouse in New York City does not take credit cards. None. The payment issue at the end of the meal would have completely ruined the experience for me, despite how good the food, service and ambiance were.
Thank you so much for reaching out! Thailand is fast becoming one of my favourite places visit and the credit card acceptance is quite nice as well. Yeah, I know going in that PL only accepts cash and debit but didn’t realize about the issue with the Can vs US debit cards.
Oh, you and all customers would be happy to hear I didn’t have to work off the debt in the kitchen. (I don’t think I’m supposed to say, but under extraordinary conditions, credit is taken and also, there’s an atm down the street 😉)
It's funny because while I was editing, I did have a strong craving for another burger. I'm surprised I like a medium rare Burger but that's how I'll have it from now on
Tim, you might have just become my favourite myth buster! really hope you do many more of these! Just maybe in Canada next time or with more cash on hand/an American card! (As a Canadian without a passport, I hope for the former!)🙏 Also please update us on how you got out! Legend has it you're still scrubbing dishes to this day!💕😭
Thank you so much and A really, enjoyable myth busting session. Will make sure to visit some Canadian places as well with cash in hand. Luckily, I did not have to do any scrubbing of dishes and manage to pay the bill in the end.
Tim, Well appointed restaurant. @15:32 perfectly done strip loin steak. This morning I had a couple of angus ground beef medium rare patties w pan caramelized onions along with pepper jack cheese melted on top. Almost as good as your steak dinner 😅. This evening I am having a few fingers of a peaty hard beverage. Dinner in a couple of hours will be crispy lightly coated chicken breast w bacon and a slice of swiss cheese. Thank you for introducing us to fine places throughout the World. Heck of a tasty looking dessert, shovel in that apple pie. 😊. Nice sweater. Darn electronic payments. 🤔. Best
It was really enjoyable and when I went in I figured I would order a few items not believing I can finish it and will take it home. Was really surprised that I finished the burger and the porterhouse. It was really tasty
Great review. My wife and I had the steak for 2 and couldn’t finish it. We also had appetizer and side. Best steak I’ve ever had, cooked perfect but if it sits on hot plate too long it goes up a level of doneness.
We had an early dinner at Peter Luger's years ago. The food and ambiance were great. The waiter was not the most appreciative guy. We enjoyed our meal because we don't let a sour puss get in the way of a legendary steak. Glad to see the restaurant has mended its ways.
Great to hear you didn’t let that affect your meal! I suspected they did mend their ways though having a camera present sometime affects the service as well (showing the best foot forward so to speak)
That Burger looked awesome that's the way I like my Burger med rare! Your making me hungry the steak looked amazing. I would have a bake potato or mashed if they have it! Thank you for sharing this video and love your channel.
Sometimes i think the food critics are too power hungry and don't realise the effect they can have on a business. Your meal looked incredible and the staff were incredibly polite 😊
The NYT critic dines anonymously not with a tripod and a camera like Tim. Of course they went out of their way. I'm sure he introduced himself to everyone in the kitchen, too.
I agree. And it doesn't seem like there is much they could do different even if they knew there was a reviewer eating. I would enjoy the quiet ambience. It's conducive to enjoying each other, the food and the restaurant itself. Very very nice. Even the cocktails seemed gracious and belonged on the table with the lovely beautiful wood in a quiet corner. I hope it smelled of old country charm, grilled steak, wood polish and coffee. 🌿
I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed that burger. I would never have ordered medium rare if it was up to me, but I’m so glad Youn recommend it. I would defiantly be getting that again if I get a chance
Never seen a DMV that looked like that. Lovely place. Burger for an app, too funny. Your problem reminds me of a time my brother took a girl out to her choice - The Queen Mary. He had no idea and couldn't pay. Promised to bring the remaining money back the next day and did. Manager said few people do come back. What did you do?!

The food all looks absolutely amazing. That strudel and very thick whipped cream at the end is divine!!! I would back off a bit on the main course just to feed my sweet tooth on that bad boy. Great video once again and if I am ever in New York again I will make it a point to dine here.
Hello Tim You should go to Kats Diner. I didn't know it was there the last time I visited NYC. If I go back I would definitely go there too. what no pickles? Delicious. Yum does the meat taste better very pick? I always had meat well done as seeing the looks of what I have pink means uncooked am I right so sorry I mainly eat burger, chicken or bacon. Steak if start and finished I have no clue how to cook and eat stake. I was at Costco where the were hadding out samples was the best I'd ever tasted. Enjoy Tim and Merry Christmas before I forget. 🎄🥰
They were handing out steaks as samples in Costco?!? It was very enjoyable at Peter Luger and my server youn Suggested to have the burger, medium rare. I was so glad he suggested that otherwise I would’ve gotten medium well. It was very enjoyable.
Tim you didn't let us know how things worked out in the end and I was a bit concerned for you despite your composed nature. I really appreciate that you use your platform to help businesses rather than just tear them down for click bait as some vloggers might. ✊Given that you have earned good karma I am sure you left NYC with no or minimal dishwashing duties. 👍
Yeah, even if I try to work wash dishes, US labour laws prohibit me from doing so. I did get the bill paid in the end… Really enjoyable though and quite a nice experience. Aside from that worries about the bill.

Thanks so much... I'm just reaching out to UA-cam at the moment. They were kind enough to offer an experimental feature where it automatically creates different audio tracks. Try reloading or if you can, select the English Audio track. I'm just on the chat with their support team at the moment.

I’m glad you had such a lovely time! Always expect nothing less at Peter Luger’s 💕🔥
Nothing like the timeless classic Steakhouse at its finest
I've just recently found your channel and as soon as I discovered you're a fellow 🇨🇦 I subscribed !
Thank you so much for your support! 😃🍁
First video I’ve come across, nice to see Peter Lugers is still around. You seem like a food critic. Great job! From a OG Brooklynite. 👏🏼💃🏻👌🏼
Thank you so much and it was a really enjoyable experience. By no means am I a food critic. Just very grateful to get to visit and share these experiences and it’s my hobby.
@@TimLeeLetsGoyou’re very welcome. 👌🏼
What happen with the payment dilemma? How did you sort i out? If I may ask.
Oh, you and all customers would be happy to hear I didn’t have to work off the debt in the kitchen. (I don’t think I’m supposed to say, but under extraordinary conditions, credit is taken and also, there’s an atm down the street 😉)
That is great!
For the first time my mouth was actually watering! Since I’m in Southern California, I can get to Vegas pretty easily! PL hamburger, here I come. 😅
It's funny because while I was editing, I did have a strong craving for another burger. I'm surprised I like a medium rare Burger but that's how I'll have it from now on
Very nice looking food. Hope the payment situation can work out. Cheers, Tim and God Bless! 👍👍✌️🇨🇦
Looks like you had a very enjoyable meal. I haven’t had a good steak dinner in a long time. I truly enjoyed sharing in your positive experience. 👍🏻🌹👍🏻
I really enjoyed the classic steakhouse and it delivered on everything I expected. It was pricey though and definitely not something to do frequently.
Tim, you might have just become my favourite myth buster! really hope you do many more of these! Just maybe in Canada next time or with more cash on hand/an American card! (As a Canadian without a passport, I hope for the former!)🙏
Also please update us on how you got out!
I can still hear that cow mowing hear in Michigan lol
LoL... I was so impressed with the medium rare burger.. something I wouldn't order on my own but glad Youn suggested it😃
Tim, Well appointed restaurant.
🤔. Best
Been there over ten years ago. One of the best meals I ever had. You should have detailed how you ended up paying the bill.
I really enjoyed my meal too! Definitely not worthy of the 0 star review.
That meal looked absolutely delicious.
That’s great to hear, and their portions are quite sizable! Those porterhouse were sure Delicious!😋. Great to hear you And your wife had a great time…
You make my day ❤
Likewise! Thank you so much
We had an early dinner at Peter Luger's years ago.
I’m still thinking about that burger and the porterhouse steak. One of the best I’ve ever had.
Great review Tim!
🙏❤️
Great review Tim! Always enjoy your positive aura. You should have ended with the video where they show you the sink full of dirty dishes. 😂
Thank you so much! Luckily as a Canadian, doing dishes would have violated labor laws😉. Happy to say the bill was settled in the end😌
Love it!
🙏
Sometimes i think the food critics are too power hungry and don't realise the effect they can have on a business. Your meal looked incredible and the staff were incredibly polite 😊
The NYT critic dines anonymously not with a tripod and a camera like Tim. Of course they went out of their way. I'm sure he introduced himself to everyone in the kitchen, too.
It was a very good experience but from the service and the food. The porterhouse and the burger were one of the best I’ve had😋
@@Fuzzy_1 that critic is well known to restaurants, anonymously highly unlikely
That - my friends - is a nice juicy Burger!! No frills, no bells or whistles but it looks so very delicious to me. Perfectly medium rare!!!
Tim washes the dishes 🎉
That was definitely on the table, but apparently a Canadian doing dishes would have violated some US labour laws😁
Great job Tim! Thanks for sharing, my mother would like that you took the bone home. Sorry about the credit card.😊❤❤❤
Apple strudel is to die for and steak mouthwatering
I must say, despite the critiques, they really do an amazing job with their steaks and the burgers. The strudel was a nice way to end the meal.😋
Hi Tim that burger looked so delicious and that steak omg you do food right. thank you
I was really pleasantly surprised with the burger. Steak was good as well, but the burger was definitely a nice surprise.
Good Morning I’m going to Lugers since 80s it never disappoints of course there are other great steakhouses but this place never disappoints 🤓
I really enjoyed it as well. You know you’re getting the classic steakhouse meal and they certainly delivered.
Ciao Tim 👋👋👋
Greetings from Greenwich London ⚓️⛵️
Cheers 🍔🔥🥩☕️🥄🍰👍✅
I wasn’t able to switch Portuguese to English 🤷🏻♂️⁉️
Fortunately the subtitles are in English 😄👍
Not a big deal! 😉👋👋
Thanks for letting me know. I'm just on a chat with the UA-cam folks. This is an experimental feature where they automatically dub the audio into different languages. Try giving it a reload as that has worked in some instances.
Will keep you posted.
Great video...I just subscribed. Cheers!
ATM at Broadway/Roebling ST (BoA) 3min walk
That would’ve been a lifesaver
The food all looks absolutely amazing. That strudel and very thick whipped cream at the end is divine!!! I would back off a bit on the main course just to feed my sweet tooth on that bad boy. Great video once again and if I am ever in New York again I will make it a point to dine here.
That was my first time trying an apple strudel and really enjoyed it. What a great way to end the meal.
Hello Tim
You should go to Kats Diner.
@@TimLeeLetsGo Glad to hear.👍Just responding with a dry humour response to your dry humour/ occasional Dad jokes :).
What camera do you use to shoot your footage?
I use the DJI Osmo pocket 3. I would highly recommend it for travels or vacation etc
Nem acredito q está dublado em português,sempre assisti mesmo sem entender mas agora tá maravilhoso obrigado
Just started following you yesterday good show 😀🙏
Thank you so much for your support!
So which is better Vegas or NYC?
Hands-down Vegas! They take credit cards😁
Why was automatic gratuity included?
I believe I added the gratuity
The porterhouse and potatoes are always wonderful at Lugers
That was one of the best porterhouse steaks I’ve had. I am very curious about the french fries though.
The audio is in German for me?
Fixed now :)
Thank you so much for letting me know! Was it just a reload?
@@TimLeeLetsGo Yeah - the first 10 minutes of the video landing, there was no option to choose English. Then eventually it arrived. I refreshed several times during the first 10 mins, but it only offered French, German, Italy and Portuguese. Probably a bug somewhere. Thanks man. Love your content. God bless
@@TimLeeLetsGowe save Tim’s videos to watch on bed before sleep; last night, again: when play your video on UA-cam app from Apple TV, the default language is not in English; and under audio track, options are: French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish; anyone else has the same issue over and over again, when watching UA-cam app on any TV? So sick of this new but won’t be fixed feature! Have to airplay to my Tv from iPad ❤
Diese deutsche Übersetzung macht mich irre. Immer dieses a und o zwischendurch....das nervt..
I have eaten at Peter Luger’s many times and never had a bad experience!
I really did enjoy it… great atmosphere from the servers and probably the best burger and porterhouse I’ve had.
im watching this while eating blue crabs. 😊
Loving The blue crabs, but it is a test of patience😁. Hope you’re having a great meal!
Uncle Steve to the rescue!
You can always count on Uncle Steve….
I got very hungry watching you eat that yummy meal. I live in NY, never ate at Peter Lugar, not a meat lover.
It was quite a nice experience… Understand there’s a bit of tourist premium, but it was a lot of fun. The burger was absolutely delicious.
Thx for another awesome video. I dunno what in the world that critic was talking about, Looked fine to me.
Steak looked amazing. Hey Tim, I would have put some of the whipped cream in the coffee. 😂
That was what I was thinking when during the editing process… Oh well… Lost moment moments
Your videos always make me hungrey. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🙂🤓🤓😋😋🍽🍽🍽🍽
Oh, that was such a good steak and burger!
Thanks for the video
❤️🙏
How far advance did you make reservations for Lugers ?
I'm happy to see I just walked in! 🙂
Did he really say "Look at that crack" at 22:20. 🤣😂😂🤣
🤦♂️
KAME OMAKASE in Vegas would be an EPIC video to see if you can make it over there.
Oh, I gotta check that out😋
@ yeah its absolutely insane and super $$$$ lol
Been there mutiple times, no complaints.
Great to hear! I really enjoyed it…
Pete's Long Island location is fantastic too, could say is cheaper to eat there meaning: No Parking Violations, Brooklyn Meter Maids are poised to pounce before 7:00pm.
Best Wishes to ya Tim.
Last resort........dine and dash 😂 😂
Hi Tim. I think there is some issue with your video. The audio automatically goes to German and when I try to adjust it none of the options are English.
When I exited the window and typed youtube, and TIM LEE the video was in English, but that was a strange experience.
Thanks so much... I'm just reaching out to UA-cam at the moment. They were kind enough to offer an experimental feature where it automatically creates different audio tracks. Try reloading or if you can, select the English Audio track. I'm just on the chat with their support team at the moment.
@@TimLeeLetsGo Did you get it fixed Tim? Perhaps you could put it in the comments or add a caption to exit the window and open a new one if the audio issue happens. I hate to see your video not get its deserved views.
Lol at the beginning i was like "You did not go to a steakhouse for a BURGER?!" I went to the location off of Northern Blvd. It was ok...The service there was weird. It s like they sat all us Asians and other races in one area and then on the lower level was well you get it.
Oh God stop being a race baiter you dumbass ...no wonder your stupid ass identity politics were VOTED out
It looks like a lovely restaurant ❤
The classic charm is timeless.
