Cheers John. Great video.
Without question, the most important piece of kit for aiding motivation and mapping progress is the running watch. I’d be lost without it. Parkrun was also a huge help during my early running days but not so much lately due to the well documented ‘politics’.
Yes it might help some newer runners but alienates a lot of its long standing advocates.
Excellent list, John. I think I tried to find the Ron Hill books after you mentioned then previously. They're not in my price range at the moment!
I do watch Run Elite videos, and he speaks a lot of sense.
Are you moving towards a raw plant diet? In fact you could try eating your way through all that undergrowth you had on that trail run. Kill two birds with one stone.
@@tworunningbrooms 😂 I actually almost mentioned his... unusual diet choices, in my initial comment. I didn't want to sound negative though, as his running advice seems good, and he explains things really clearly. Perhaps I'll try a nettle tea one day. Dip my toe in the water.
Great upload. TQ. Great to hear you like Bob Dylan, an acquired taste.
Love his music. First saw him live in 1987 and haven't looked back.
I was waiting for club membership to come up, although I guess there's some similarities with parkrun.
Yes I did think about that one later. I guess club membership was hugely important in the early days. I guess more recently going alternative 1st Claim for track and doing the relay for my 1st Claim club still shows the importance of a club continues.
Got the obligatory Ron Hill reference though 😉
Motivation is a myth? 🤪
It's fleeting and transitory. Habit and identity underpin success. Unless the motivation is to repeat the habit 😉
