I've used the Flipbelt for over 5 years and I would be lost without it. the attachment for your keys make it super easy to jump in the house and zip for phone is useful.
Florida runner here: Body Glide in our warmer weather won't even handle 13 miles. It works fine for shorter distances but wears off quickly. I've gotten toe blisters and bled through shirts on half marathons where the temperature was above 70F. It's OK for 10k distances or longer runs when the temperature dips into the mid 60's. Two good points are that it doesn't smell or stain clothing.
@@davidthesmiler That's why I am looking for advice on the running sites. I use RunGoo and it last longer, but despite their claims it stains clothes. I did find the warming Glide a little softens the wax and gives a thicker coat of it.
I find that just straight Vaseline works well for me. Much cheaper, comes in huge quantities, no scent. As a plus size runner I’ve dealt with all kinds of chafing my whole life. If you know, you know
Injinji toe socks for the win! They're awesome. Seem weird til you try them, then you'll never want to wear anything else. Great point about wearing them to visit people....guaranteed conversation starter! So so comfortable to run in....👌🏽
I'm still rocking the AfterShokz Aeropex as well. I've turned many people on to Shokz since then. Can wear them all day and they cause zero fatigue. Other than bass, they have no weaknesses at all.
thanks to yourself and sarah for another year of great content! on the belt note, i use a salomon pulse belt. the whole thing is almost one big pocket and it comes with a zip pocket section that'll fit most phones
Im so happy now, last night i was debating either buying the epix gen 2 or the Forerunner 965, ended up going for the forerunner, even though i really like the Sapphire on the epix👍🤩
I bought my aeropex in 2019 . This is my first choice earphone for outdoor activities . The battery life is still pretty good after 4 years of usage. I managed to buy another 2 cables from aftershokz 2 years ago.
Love my injinji socks as well :) I also have the flip belt....not sure I've ever tried to fit a water bottle in it...but does fine w/ phone, keys, and some snacks.
Try the Decathlon Run belt, it’s very similar to the Naked one but I think it’s a tenner. The flip belt is not as good as it’s more fiddly and not what you need on a long run.
I'm considering upgrading my Forerunner 965 to an Epix 2 Pro. I really want that LED flashlight as I often have to walk into pitch black areas. I also like that you can have more data fields on the map screen with the Pro.
Sort of alternative for the flip belt would be the shorts with storage at the top, just like the naked one you recommend, from Decathlon. They’re so good! Evadict is the brand.
I only wear Injinji, absolutely love them but they not only are more fiddely to put on, you can also only wash them properly in their wearing orientation, since everything between the toes needs to be exposed to water or it won't come off. So they're a bit of an "involved" product. Still - really worth it.
Shokz make a mini now and they hug the back of the neck / head really nicely, I wasn´t sure who they were aimed at but recently had a chance to try some on and they are amazing... better with beanie hats and sitting with my head resting on a pillow or high sofa
My running gear matches for the most part!!! Naked belt (been using for years), Shokz headphones, Squirrel Nut, Maurten (though I mix it up with other gels), Garmin 945 LTE (like the cell connection for tracking), and Ininji socks (get blisters with regular socks). I use the R8 for calf muscles and R4 for foam rolling, but will check out the R3. My other goto equipment now Smartwool merino gloves (up to around freezing, then use a waterproof mitten over them for < freezing temps) and zensah arm sleeves. I've used the older flip belts and find them less flexible and warmer than the Naked belt.
I got feetures socks for xmas i did not realize how big a difference socks could make. Feels like I have new shoes on my feet. I'll have to try these out too!
I have 3 pairs of the exact same Balega Enduro sock and they are without question my FAVOURITE pair of socks I've ever owned. They're a bit expensive in South Africa, you'll probably pay around R220 a pair (I got mine at Cape Union Mart, love that place) but are absolutely worth it
The Injinji toe socks are a great idea and I'm ordering a pair today. I might start with using them for soccer where I wear two pairs of socks. In my last game the 2nd biggest toe decided to rub against the big toe on my left foot and luckily a blister didn't form, but it was trying!
@@garethpetts2174i ordered one from amazon it stretches quite easily. I'm 175cm 69kg 30" waist and it wasn't too tight. I think I could lose some weight or gain some weight and you're sound.
If you wish to use the AirPods, but you’re struggling to keep them in your ears, try the Comply foam ear tips! They are truly amazing, they adapt to your ear form and stay put, even if you run fast and on bad paths. I am a huge fan of the Comply foam ear tips. Hope this is helpful 😊
Great video and I will definitely give the Injinji socks a go. I used to use flip belts all the time until my phone fell out once and smashed the screen - maybe it is worth me giving them another go.
Great list Ben, I purchased some adapters from Amazon that go onto a USB cable and can be used to charge Garmin devices. I've just looked and you can get similar adapters for Shockz too. Its a great alternative if you want a longer cable or dont want to carry a specific charger on your travels.
Thanks for the recommendations on the Garmin. I suspect at some point I'll be shopping for one. I struggle to read the screen particularly in the morning / dark runs on my Garmin 235. Having an easy to read screen is what I am looking for. I did buy a Flip Belt Zipper under your suggestion (I think you had another favorite product video earlier this year) and I really enjoy it. Holds hotel keys, phone and gels. Not good for carrying hydration but it does what I want it to and I am never without it on my long runs. I enjoyed the content Ben!
Hi My eyes aren't what they were, I was using a fitbit but found it hard to see when running I pushed the boat out and bought the Garmin 265 the screen is perfect and has transformed my runs so easy to see in all conditions, good luck with your running 👍
Sarah should probably try on the women’s version of the Salomon Adv Skin. Has a slightly better shape with different flasks too that are designed for the female body.
One thing that may be missing are some sunglasses recommendations. I don’t usually wear any, I find it annoying when I have to keep taking them off and putting them on. A couple of weeks ago I bought a pair of Julbo Aerospeed (Reactiv) and I love them. It was really hard to still find a pair in Germany. I must agree with most of the recommendations as I use them as well. I’ll try some Injinji socks soon, hoping to see some more videos from Sarah as well.
Legend! For socks, I highly recommend "Steigen" and Rockay especially the 'NORREBRO RUN CREW SOCKS' it says on the front of the socks: You'll never Run alone. Love them, my absolute favorites. Ben seriously check em out. You will not regret it. They last forever, actually have life tile guarantee.
Like you, my AirPods didn’t stay in my ears when running and then I was recommended so silicone tips that cost a tenner on Amazon.. they come in 3 different sizes and slip over the end and I’ve been able to use them for every run since 🙌🏼
Well there are not a good product really.. so struggle to recommend them. I like them because they are fun.. but plenty of better gloves out there. They are from ronhill though.
Great video Ben. I'm in the last bit of prep for my first marathon (London... can't wait!) next year and the only thing I'm stuck on is a running belt to carry my gels in. Never worn one before, so not sure really what to expect, but the Naked Band is interesting. Do you have any thoughts on pros/cons when comparing a band to a belt for it's overall use?
Two comments… love my 965 and love seeing your hair 😂 I know the hat back to front is part of your brand but you do have hair after all 😂😂 . Some great products there 🎉
Heh Ben Another great video thanks Hope you and Sarah are well and getting it done. Have started marathon training for my first marathon next April using your plan so enjoying it all so far, what would be your shoe recommendation? I'm hoping to do it in under 5 hours I've done a few halfs this year averaging around the 2 hour 10 minutes mark.
Hope all is well.... You mention the garmin charger not being the best.... Have you found a better cable? Im finding mine on my fenix isnt great lately
Is there a reason to get a garmin over an apple watch? I feel like my apple watch has all the same functionality, a better screen and a bigger app store.
I have the epix 2….how do you set it up so you have the maps on it? I really struggle with following it, I plan the route on the connect app but it’s hard to follow also how do You have the pace and the time on the map screwn
I’ve bought two in the end… but I could’ve stayed with the first one for some time. The info of their website was good enough, some people say to go one size up, I guess that depends on how you measure your waist (for example if you try to suck your belly too much).
If you want to run using AirPod pros, get some foam ear tips! They don’t last forever BUT they don’t fall out. Also, the first gen AirPods can be had really cheap and are durable, reliable, and don’t block all noise.
I've used the Flipbelt for over 5 years and I would be lost without it. the attachment for your keys make it super easy to jump in the house and zip for phone is useful.
Thanks Ben & Sarah for introducing the Injinji Socks. Love it!!
I absolutely love My Injinji sock, and I wear them all year round. The merino wool keeps the feet at a nice temperature all year round - hot or cold!
Another vote for injinjis!
Injinji Socks for the win!

Appreciate how little faff there is in your videos. Straight to the point, with gaffes left in!

I just buy a pair with each order for kit and it does not feel too expensive ! Game changer for me with weird feet.
Totally concured! Im used to be big Steigen fan, but now im switching to Injinji. Thanks, Ben!

Just received my first pair of injinji socks - will take some time getting use to 😮
I didn't have any problems at all getting use to, but I can't get on or off fast at all. Use for long trail races (50k) and have no blister issues.

The new shocks sound quality is so much better, i still have the old ones but my partner got new ones and they are great!

Just a quick one regarding the running waist band. It's also great to take with you traveling having it under your shirt.
Is the waist band true to size? And is there much adjustment to stop it moving too much? Thank you

Tip for Anti-Chafe: Use coconut (oil) butter instead (cheaper and just as effective) In winter melt it using a hair dryer.

go to a sportstore and get your feet and gate analysed, then they find a good fit for you.
