    Great video, Robb! Such conviction in your voice! My inner child got very fearful last night after the news that the first lady and Whoopi Goldberg have Covid. So the belief that my inner child has is that I don’t deserve to be healthy and happy because I’ve been bad and the worst is bound to happen because I deserve it. So I had to do a lot of sitting and allowing the fear to rise to the surface and talk to me. And then it slowly dissolved. This morning I had more insight from it as I ask the fear questions in my journal and found answers on a deeper level that has set me free today. It would be great if you would do a video on fear of re-infection and long Covid. My fear was telling me that I am going to be facing a future of reinfections every year as Covid mutates and resurfaces every winter. So any thoughts on that would just add to my healing. You are doing a great job!

      I think it's a fact that not everyone will manifest their childhood trauma to something more positive. But can they? Who am I to tell others they can't? Isn't that their job to tell themselves the they cant or can? This is tough because I have a very close friend who has a lot of childhood trauma and despite being financially successful doesnt feel it at all. All I try to do is inspire. I personally believe everybody can.......but is the desire there........do they believe they are worthy to manifest positive things? and if they feel deep shame (feelings of worthlessness) where does that emotion root cause come from? LOTS of work. I am wrong about this......but I am too stubborn and overly optimistic to give up on people.

      @@Roberto-Escobar The statement "Some people just can't be helped" is something I don't want to believe but it almost seems true in some people. I'm not doctor but I do my best and sometimes my best just isn't good enough. It's a hard thing to accept somebody you care about is suffering when the answer could seem somewhat transparent to your self. I've also had several friends who lacked maternal support as children which caused them to to struggle with codependency and treating the woman they're dating like a mother as an attempt to fill the void.

    Hey Rob, thanks so much for sharing your journey. Your energy and positivity is infectious.
    Quick question, how impactful did you find diet changes to calming your nervous system?
    I’m nearing 2 years next year since Covid infection, I’m not sure if I’d say I have long covid as I’ve been able to work and get through the days but something still feels off in my energy reserves.
    I’m a big coffee drinker as well, so have recently switched to decaf.
    Can you explain how much of an impact diet, personally had for you on your recovery plus are you now back fully recovered and able to exercise like normal again?

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar 10 місяців тому

      Diet changes will activate your nervous system. I dont recommend dieting or fasting of any sort. its seems you have LC but are funtuional, which is very frustrating. I stopped dieting and began eating junk food when I began to heal. I was soo stressed about tracking calories and losing weight. I stopped caring about being "fat" and instead would look in the mirror everyday naked and would tell myself out loud. "I LOVE YOU ROB" and began to accept me. I knew I would worry about weight or dieting after I healed. When you are healing, that is not the time to worry about this.

    There are many ways in which psychosocial factors throughout one’s life time (the course of one’s life: how you’re brought up, choices someone has made and the occurrence of adverse life events resulting in a certain social economic status and possibly chronic (psychosocial) stress) affect illness. Simply put: people whose life is tough are more likely to get sick than people whose life is easy. There is an evolutionary logic to this as well: people who can be missed the most are most likely to get ill and to die prematurely, thereby allowing the group to avoid wasting resources on a member who doesn’t contribute enough.
    It’s no fun saying this, but this is well know in the medical literature.

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar Рік тому +3

      I 100% agree with you. The studies on ACE (adverse childhood experiences) bring some clarity on this. Despite the circumstances we grow up I ask myself WHY does these experiences cause us to be sicker. And I really come to the conclusion it is because of our beliefs (dont get me wrong it's more complicated than this). It's the way we treat ourselves, what we believe about the world around (we believe the world is a dangerous place), we live in shame, we live with anxiety, we self sabotage. These come from beliefs created by our past experiences (psychosocial factors). And I look at interviews of people who have thrived despite coming from really terrifying childhoods, and changing their beliefs. Believing that they are in control of their life and health, is a huge pivot in our minds to cause healing and thriving. I enjoy reading research on ACE but I cant stand that the message most people preach is "well 80% of you will have chronic disease and die early". I dont care about the 80%. I want to be the 20% teach me that, inspire others to be that. And I believe we have more control about our outcomes in life than society leads to believe.

      @@mattrip9452 took a quick glance. I’ve heard of something similar to this. I personally believe there is no quick cure to long COVID (I wish there was). My belief is that it’s from an over stimulated nervous system. Me over stimulate through our emotions, beliefs, mindset, trauma, behavior. And these quick fixes that are meant to stimulate the vagus nerve don’t fix any of the above mentioned. So to me not worth it. But I know many people who have to do it all to prove to themselves that only calming the nervous system is the way to heal (no shame in learning the long way: I’m guilty of this). Cold plunging is an example of this. Will get rid of symptoms for a few minutes or hours, but long COVID remains no matter how many plunges you take. The goal is to run towards working on your thoughts, self talk, emotions, trauma, mindset, belief set. Hope that helps.
