      Gupta did not click for me. Either his explanation of the cause or the exercise itself was so long and confusing. I bought his program 6 months before learning about polyvagal without any improvement. A big reason it didn’t work is that the cause explanation didn’t make sense and that’s important before you start doing these exercises. ❤

      dont be afraid of your symptoms. expect them. but the exercises are the gateway to calming your nervous system. It's like if you car battery is dead, and to charge it you need to connect it to those start cables but when you do it sparks. so you never charge because of spark. dont be afraid of the spark. dont let that prevent you from doing what you must to heal, which in this case is the exercises to calm the nervous system.

      I did cold plunges and they worked great at calming my anxiety and really working through my PTSD. BUT they did not help with any permanent change into my long covid. When I healed myself from long covid I stopped all cold plunges and supplements purposely to test out if this theory was true. Happy to report it was. I still enjoy cold plunging once in a while but I do it to help feel energy and reduce any life anxiety or stress I have. Thank you for the nice words

    I recently found your videos and I am very excited to try out your methods, as they align very closely with what I have intuitively been leaning toward myself with focusing on the bits of happiness that come through my life, and being careful to intake more positive media. I’ve also found myself sighing a LOT to regulate myself. My POTS symptoms are pretty severe. I’ve also noticed that I feel better around friends!
    I’m super curious about your opinion on long covid- do you think that it’s damage from the virus at the time of infection, or do you think that it’s persistent viral load? I do see how these exercises could help either way, especially if the positivity boosts your immune system.
    Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge!

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  5 місяців тому

      I do not believe that long covid is from any internal damage. I believe it is a dysregulated nervous system. People that I helped recovered all can attest to this. some I have tried to coach and they believed it was internal damage nd never did the work to heal and still continue to be sick.

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  11 місяців тому +3

      I started to have something that looked like spider veins. My hair was falling out in clumps. My eczema worsened. My skin would at times flush and turn pale white. @kimwarburton8490 6 місяців тому +1

    This vid is brilliant, a fantastic refresher o things i knew but forgotten!
    i never got covid, but i had a MAJOR relapse with the MECFS due to 'covid anxiety' (which i think is the same thing, sorry not sorry, just that with long covid we KNOW the final trigger is the covid virus, whereas MECFS there's myriad triggers from internal to external stressors, or a build-up of accumulated stressors and until they are addressed, the nervous system continues to think it is in danger-mode, so you've basically got 'ANS dysautonomia' as the root ongoing thing, which then creates the crazy seemingly disconnected symptoms affecting any and everything in any combo
    .
    Not all stressors are/were obvious. Some people have needed to replace teeth fillings, or move to different environment, say not next to a field with petro-chemical farming. Because that usually normal stressor was enough of a stressor to keep the body/brain/nervous system in a catch 22 danger response once in said cycle.
    People who struggle may have some unknown hidden stressor akin to one of my 'accidental' improvements; since i was 6 at least, i held my body in shy insecure ways, so by time i was diagnosed i had anterior pelvic tilt, rounded shoulders, forward head posture, constant teeth grinding/clenching. This was my normal. After several years being bedbound i thought it would be ideal time to work on my posture because the imbalances would be at their weakest and thus the work i needed to do wouldnt be fighting against my normal strong body patterns. I did it for vanity XD I did Alexander Technique (feldenkrais is maybe better) for 2 years -i was SO out of touch with my body i didnt even know where the top of my head was/should be and i grew 3" taller! Covid put a stop to the 1-on-1 lessons and my posture isnt quite as good as it was just before lockdown, but its 'good enough' considering im still quite sedentary from the covid anxiety crash, it's mostly being aware, checking in with myself, doing the right exercises/activities, remaining body-aware and this doesnt come easy to me now i no longer can afford the lessons due to inflation/cost o living.
    during one of the lockdowns i learned that such posture was telling my nervous system 'we are in danger' 24/7
    Im hoping that i have in the last few weeks uncovered the last 'missing piece' whereby i can finally remove myself of 'negative beliefs' ive held since forever (internal stress, such as thinking the world is dangerous, thinking there is something inherently wrong/broken with me, struggles with basic adulting from CPTSD)
    Maybe now i can finally conquor self-neglect and self-sabotage, lack of agency, discipline, consistency etc.
    Reducing various stressors, feeling safer in the world and my body, learning to trust myself etc has brought improvements every single time.
    Only thing i'd add to this vid is gratitude practice. It is very easy to feel overwhelmed, resentful, bitter, suicidal etc. Gratitude for the small things we take for granted is the best preventative as such emotions (legit n valid as they are) contribute to nervous system feeling unsafe. It was a huge challenge when i couldnt cope with ANY audio, light, stimuli of any kind etc. so i started with the small things 'im grateful to have a kettle so i dont need to build a fire' 'im grateful for shelter from the elements' 'grateful for fridge, tap, internet, benefits, lessons, improvements etc 5 things each day, even if it took me hour plus.

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  6 місяців тому +2

      I agree with so much in this comment. I also resonate with alot of the things you mention. I believe LC, MECFS to be the same thing. I think gratitude is important but I think it's more important to focus on things NOT to do. and also having and practicing self love. I was using gratitude journal every morning and didn't it find it effective (even though it is something I used when healthy to improve mindset) because after journaling I would complain and feel sorry for my self. hope others read your comment. many nuggets of insight and wisdom.

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  7 місяців тому +2

      My SOB was really bad. I was on a nebulizer almost everyday 4-5X times a day. I had no idea it was my nervous system causing all this. the POTS was the most debilitating symptoms. From when I started doing the polyvagal exercises it took about 3 months. but I was very militant and strict about sticking to a strict routine. I did these exercises everyday. I didnt care how severe my symptoms were I would do them everyday.

    Hello just recently came across this video and have been implementing all this and have notice great improvement in my recovery this far. Currently 4 months in this and my pots and insomnia seem to be the most annoying is this somethings that is fully gone for you now? I have noticed some days while checking my watch ecg my standing HR will be 95-110 but lately there have been random times its just at 75-80 and i cant think of anything different I did that day. Is this a pattern that happened during your recovery as well?

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  2 місяці тому

      I had severe POTS. POTS symptoms are worst than LC symptoms. You feel like complete crap. I couldn't stand the lightheadedness. my HR would go from 60's to 140's. I would recommend to not monitor your HR at all. I advise people I coach to take off all tech monitoring stuff. It causes more stress and more hyper vigilance, which stresses the nervous system. but just know I healed from POTS and LC.

    Hey Rob, thanks for taking the time to help others even after recovery.
    I was wondering if you had any insight on pots recovery. For about a month and a half now I have incorporated polyvagul breathing exercises and meditation into my routine, which has had a noticeable effect on fatigue/brainfog. That being said, I still notice that my POTS has still been consistent when standing up, sitting down, and although I try not to worry about it, I imagine it is still playing a role in my slow recovery. Do you have any anecotes on this? Did your POTS still flare for a while even during recovery?
    Cheers!

      @Roberto-Escobar  11 місяців тому +2

      Personally I dont recommend meditation to any of my clients. Not saying you have to but my personal recommendation would be to swap meditation with session of breathing. POTS is the hardest symptom bundle to deal with. I would NOT monitor any of my vitals, drop the watch that monitors your HR, stop taking your blood pressure (unless told by your MD). You are not broken and you are not in danger. If you feel dizzy then you know to lay down and just chill in the couch. SO switching the belief that you are somehow broken to your nervous system just doesnt feel safe and is sending these symptoms to get your attention. I would force the exercise I mentioned in video because I remember my POTS symptoms would try to prevent me from doing alot of these exercises but you cant let it. treat POTS like Long Covid, you dont need to do anything different. Just to give you reassurance, the first person I helped heal was from POTS. she made complete recovery, and so can you.

      My own theory is that the symptoms we stress most about are the ones that are hardest to get rid of. I had pretty bad POTS, but the symptoms that stress me most have always been fatigue and brain fog. About a month after starting meditation and breath work my POTS completely disappeared. My fatigue has improved a lot but the brain fog and weird head sensations are being very stubborn. I'm sure it's because I'm more fixated onn them

    I decided to try this series of exercises every day for three months (all other factors being kept constant, no change in supplements etc). I’m just over one month in. I’ve been feeling slightly better, but I’m feeling so many emotions! I cry easily, I feel huge anger, and I have sudden urges to ‘escape’ from my house. It’s quite hard to deal with all these mercurial emotions. Is this fight/flight kicking in? I have the support of a psychologist whilst I’m doing this. Also the cold hands and feet symptoms I normally have are going WILD, it’s more uncomfortable than ever.

      Dont let the symptoms or emotional roller coaster scare you. we usually are afraid of our symptoms and the we have them we scare ourselves more and we go deeper into fight or flight or into shut down phase. If yo go from shut down to anxiety (fight of flight) that means there is improvement but because we are afraid of feeling those emotions we scare ourselves back into shut down phase. Hope this helps. • @Roberto-Escobar

      My recovery was linear but most people I personally have coached are not. Most will have some healing and then relapse. The ones that have quick recovery will usually (after several months) crash. Biggest reason I believe my recovery was linear was I let go of all expectations of myself. Keep in mind I didnt know long covid had a healing so I accepted I would live with this limiting disease until I died. SO I had a choice to make, would I continue to be miserable and focus on my limitations or would I choose to smile and be joyful despite my limitations. And the biggest thing that held me back from being joyful everyday was my expectation of being healed and living my normal life again. So I realized I had to let go and surrender those expectations. I gave up on WANTING to get better and I decided to live every single day with joy. I promised I would smile everyday, make my wife smile, and be happy no matter how severe my symptoms were. I did this work before learning about polyvagal and implementing the exercises. Most people I coach have such a hard time letting go. And I totally sympathize, and it really takes time and self reflection from the person healing. Many questions being to come up. I began to question my beliefs about every thing. Why did I feel I had to provide financially to feel useful? Does it mean that if I dont work anymore because of long covid im no longer useful or valuable? Well to God I am....so who am I to question that. I am one of his children, he loves me despite my imperfections and sins. So this is where it reinforced that I was having trouble loving me. But I needed to understand that my value doesnt come from money or what the world says but my value came from what God thought of me. This is just one aspect. I hope thinking it through here can help you think through road blocks. ❤️

Weak men are too afraid of public opinion and too afraid to be vulnerable because of some trauma they experienced. Love the video!
    Don't totally agree with your take on the Wim Hof Method as I think it overall does decrease stress. I wouldn't recommend for the early / symptom-heavy stages, though.
    Here's how Chat GPT explains it
    Sympathetic Nervous System: The initial stages of the Wim Hof breathing method can stimulate the sympathetic nervous system. The rapid and deep breathing can lead to an increase in heart rate, release of adrenaline, and other stress responses, which are characteristic of sympathetic nervous system activation. This activation can provide a boost in energy and alertness.
    Parasympathetic Nervous System: However, with continued practice, the Wim Hof Method is often associated with a shift toward parasympathetic dominance. After the initial round of rapid breathing, there is typically a breath retention phase. During this phase, the body can become more alkaline, and the parasympathetic nervous system may become more active. This can lead to a sense of calm and relaxation.

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  9 місяців тому +1

      I personally have done the Wim hot method for 3 months, making me and keeping me sick with long covid. I kept forcing it wondering why wasn't it working. After I healed, I had clients with the same story of saying that they are doing Wim how and feeling worst. NO ONE with long covid has come up to me, YET, that have said that Wim how breathing has provided relief. We DO NOT want to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system. Please research or watch my video on polyvagal theory. You are describing a dualistic nervous system which is flawed and if you work out of that prism then this can be very confusing. If you ask Chat GPT about polyvagal it will explain it for you. We need to be in ventral vagal. We dont lack energy because we aren't in sympathetic. We lack energy due to being in Dorsal vagal or shut down in the para sympathetic system. Hope this makes sense.

    • @Roberto-Escobar
      @Roberto-Escobar  11 місяців тому +2

      I have looked into it and also the Gupta program. There are two things I dont like about the program. First it doesnt have a good explanation on why we have dysautonomia (LC, CFS/ME, POTS). This is such an underestimated power of healing. To heal you need to understand and it needs to make sense on why we have these problems. Second problem is that they only really do a good job addressing brain retraining. Many people have come to me for help and have done the programs and they mention how it has helped slightly but they get symptoms back BECAUSE they didnt address the other issues in their life that caused dysautonomia like Child hood trauma and our lack of self love, mindset, polyvagal exercises, and changing out belief sets. Gupta program dabbles a bit on our personality traits but he doesnt go into the cause which is childhood trauma and lack of self love. I think many people think self love is too woo woo to speak about and sell courses. I personally healed without the programs.

I have massive amounts of anger and resentment from being born in to a sick family and based on my extensive studies i believe anger was the original cause of my problem. It was triggered after i got Mono but the symptoms persisted because of all my anger. I have read probably 1,000 plus psychology books at this point. I was prescribed a ton of psych meds to deal with being sick and now i stopped them and am getting bad symptoms. The psych med withdrawals are long lasting and just as bad as being sick. Mentally the withdrawals are MUCH worse than being sick. This garbage was pushed on me with sales pitches and lies. I just hope i am back to normal soon.@@Roberto-Escobar
