And there it goes again. Clean out of the park. Home run by the guys in the basement. Cool b&w camera work as well. Kudos to Tilly and Chris.
Didn't even register that it was b&w till I saw this comment. Now that's story telling.
Do believe You are correct. A home run!
I love how the drummer fist pumped the bass player that was awesome. Well done guys!
The bass player here. That was not planned 😂
You were killing it, so it had to happen haha@@philipconradmusic
@@philipconradmusicNice hat tip using that Gibson Bass.
Its an epiphone he moded. He calles it the snorelax. Its facking awsome.@@youropionmattersnot
I like how the bass player shimmy over at the end and make mean faces too ♡
That’s some killer phrasing & touch Rhett. Honestly some of the best I’ve seen you post on here!!
Thanks man!!
Rhett absolutely tore it up! That was all feel and inspiration and I loved it!
Thanks for once again showcasing Dylan Adams. He's truly a generational talent.
Holy shit, Rhett. This is the best piece of content on your channel. Absolutely banger! My goodness, the vocals, the guitar, the mixing, the footage. Well done brother, keep these coming!!!
So many elements take this from good to great, the whole band is smoking and the camera work and production is fantastic. But the absolute showstopper for me is Noah's vocal performance. Holy hell what a set of pipes!
The fist bump between Phil and Ian before the finale says it all.
You blew my hair back, cleared my sinuses, and gave me tachycardia and chills. KILLER! All of you!
Y’all’s cover of this song has been one of my favorite jams for a few years, and Dylan sent it over the top. This is epic.
Have to say, I REALLY dig how the first half of the song is done basically stripped down making it a reinvention of the original. Great idea.
Everyone killed it & I was particularly blown away with both Rhett and Dylan’s solos and how they played off each other ! *inspired*
Wow! Just Wow! I never comment, just lurk. But this video authenticates the “live to tape” concept. No Pro Tools; no auto-tune; no quantization; just live musicians interacting in real time. You guys captured the magic of playing together!
Wow! I loved every second of that, the pocket, the stellar guitar work, and Noah's vocal is off the charts!
Love your guys take on this! Very fresh and full of energy! 👏👏👏
HOT DAMN!!!!!
What are you guys going on tour this would be the best Jam Bandy show on the planet right now
Damn, I really didn't want this one to end. Fantastic take. So good to see a real band playing live music in a studio setting. No bullshit, just a bunch of really talented guys putting it on tape. Love every one of these. Keep 'em coming!
The first bump between Philip and Ian is the absolute best part. Well done dudes.
I actually got emotional watching this, filled with gratitude that real music is not dead.
It must have felt amazing to play something like this, what a beautiful, hard-earned gift.
Real music is immortal, it would still be in the ether long after our physical presence is gone.
Best cover i have ever heard of this song. And i have heard tons of covers of this one.
I can't wait to hear this. Love this song. I'm in for all the songs and I hope this turns into something big. Capitalize on the momentum any way you can.
What a great band. Hey guys, props. Yes.
Holy Shit, that was awesome! Whipping Post has always been a favorite of mine and you guys did it so much justice.
Noah's vocals are Killin It here and all over a terrific arrangement. Thanks for this little gem.
HOLY SHIT!!!! That was absolutely amazing!!!! This basement series is killer. This is one of the best versions of Whipping Post I’ve ever heard.
I'm getting the headphones out for this one, and it's coming on line just as I get home from work later. Perfect.
This was absolutely AMAZING!
Man, I miss the Backstage Journal videos. That's what made this channel special (for me).
Really hope these kind of videos take off for you! Love getting to just throw on some headphones and listen to some good music.
Gonna blare this on my monster 7.1 theater system. The floor will shake, rattle, and roll....
Phuc! Now THAT'S how it's done.
I felt that like it was right here in my room in Australia!
From a veteran Audio Engineer over here, Respect!

Damn! Noah and Dylan hitting those notes together at the end was fantastic.
Sublime... beautifully performed.
The live mix here is just so good. The bass seems so big, but sitting right there in the mix.
The fistbump Ian had with Phillip 😂 made me laugh. Good job guys! You did the the song justice
This is EXCELLENT. Great music by great players. Awesome vocals!
Would love to see a video for the planning and setup for these videos. This is fresh and really beautiful work.
These are incredible Rhett. Keep it coming! No weak links here. Just incredible musicians all around.
That rendition stands on its own and is a hit-wow! Killer vocals, perfect guitars all around, and a driving groove that gives the song a whole different feel-absolutely love it. Can’t wait to hear what else you all have cooking…
Been watching for years but I rarely engage in comments. Damn fine job boys! That was something special! 🤙🏼
Alright, not only did you knock it out of the ball park, but that was a grand slam. Bravo! You also did an incredible job at sound engineering. It was mixed perfectly. The drums sounded really amazing, great mix. Love this!
Thanks so much!
Listened this yesterday when I came home from work. Listened it again this morning while commuting. And 3rd time when I'm home again. I don't think this is gonna get old any time soon. Thank you!
Looking forward to this. My favorite Allman Brothers song
ok.... listened to your version again for the 100th time..... Love this!!!
Have seen. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Wow, as an ABB fan from the beginning ,that was an amazing version of Whipping Post, minimalist to start, but full of the core fire . ALL the band was cooking...more please
Y’all are talented goofballs. Well done ✨
the real problem with this series is I can't imagine he can keep up the volume required to keep me engaged. The quality is amazing and I have shared generously. love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes! Noah and Good Trouble KILLS this song! Can't wait to hear Dylan tear it up on the solo!
Wow! Nice fellas (and fellette behind the camera). Nice spin on a classic.
This is going to be absolutely 🔥!
Can’t wait
This is the first time I didn’t have to and find the original version live from The Allman Brothers to get the cover version from another artist out of my head. Great job Rhett! You’ve really got something special going on.
I was a senior in high school learning to play guitar when this came out and it was my world for ten year.s tears are flowing, jaw hanging and when it was done I realized I didn't even have my headphones on. everyone was in the pocket even me I was air guitaring the crap out it right along with you this is the best I've heard and my opinion is what counts
Thank you for this
Well, this was a real treat. Really, really great performance.
This is pure magic
Holy Moly do you guys deliver. And Whipping Post... I waited a few days because that one is emotional and cleansing. Gosh! Thanks!
Did I say how awesome the production and filmography.... ok, ok, I'll go. Really y'all... another level!! 👍👍👍
Congrats for an awesome version and take. I heard this song thousands of times, this honors the original
Hoo wee, that was some mighty fine picking and singing! A fantastic rendition of a classic that paid homage while at the same time you made it yours. Noah can belt out the soulful blues. Loved it!
I absolutely love these... another amazing performance
I remember watching the channel like 5-6 years ago desperate for a recorded cover of whipping post from Noah and the boys this makes me day
Rhett, Please put these sessions out on streaming services and physical copy. I feel confident in speaking for the internet here, we would 100% sell out any record you produce from this. Keep it up man! And thanks for blessing us with Dylan once again
Exceptional, guys! Nothing better than three guitars, bass, and drums... ever!
well Rhett, you finally got me. Been watching for a few years, and never subscribed. The great gig in the sky video was amazing but after this one I'm gonna have to hit that button. Great work. Loving this new series.
Amazing take, thanks for the intro to Dylan Adams. Hadn't heard him play before. You both work very well together.
Wow! That was fun to watch as well as listen. Tight guys.....very tight!
Goose bumps from a UA-cam video. Didn’t even know that was possible. Felt like I was at a show. Killer.
This one is special. Y'all are onto something with this series. It gave me the same visceral jolt as seeing music live. Weirdly more so than most live streams. Must be the cinematography. Great work all around!
I am just bummed that I can’t like this more. You guys look like you’re having fun. Get after it boys
Wow, every time I hear you guys play, you get better and better. Noah's vocal are sublime, and Rhett's guitar is dead on. Great song, great musicians.
This is a killer cover of a fantastic tune! Thanks! It was good to meet you for a minute at the David Ryan Harris show at Smith's the other night!
My goodness gents - that is an absolute grand slam! What a legacy you guys are building for us all to enjoy 👍
Love these "Live to Tape"!! Keep them coming. Still pulling up "The Great Gig in the Sky" on the regular.
Lord knows I am a guy who loves to sit in the studio and play something 8000 times until it is right (literally, I love that $#*^) but I equally love knowing something so well you can roll tape and nail the absolute living #$%^ outta something in one take.
Very nice.
Hell Yes! Fresh take on one of my favorite songs! Just blasted this in my Truck on repeat through my whole lunch break. Love the series!
Rhett your channel and friendship with these killer musicians pays off man, you deliver TOP content! This is way above than casual entertainment, gear demos or teaching ppl, you guys are making ART here! Wishing you all the best, keep it up! Cheers
Dudes. Please keep making these -- they're awesome. And then put out the record.
Whoohhhh! Really liked how Noah began and then the transition into complimenting/alternating guitar leads! This Live to Tape is a Gem. Can't wait to see future episodes! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Last night I saw Al Dimeola @ City Winery & tonight I see this in my UA-cam feed. It's a great time to be alive.
Only one way to critique that: Bad F'in Ass. Wow! Great work, everyone. The playing, the singing, the camera work, the tonal capture and that beast on the skins! Everything, Pro and Organic. Blown away. Bravo.
I keep coming back to this video. This is how good guitar playing sounds like in my head. Amazing
Love this series! It makes people play more music because it just looks so fun to play with other musicians in a basement studio. Great job guys!
Excellent! Thank you.
Always a pleasure to see you guys play and dam Noah!! The screaming with the guitars... now that was bad ass!
Phil and Ian fist bumping at the end is so rock and roll haha
Yeah! That was a good one! From beginning to end!!

You guys need to keep doing this! It sounded so good. Get all your friends to come do one. Would love to see Beato in a session.
WOW....I hope these sessions will make their way to Spotify ...I need this music in my car.
Wow kudos to all. Dylan…goddam man that is sweet.
Noah Guthrie, good lord, what a voice. Fantastic cover from the whole band, brilliant.
At first I missed the B-3 but the strong vocals and the guitar solos made up for it. A true classic done really well. I'd buy a ticket!
BRAVO, MR. SHULL!!!! BRAVO!!!!!!!!
Wow! Best damn arrangement of that song I have ever heard. That was incredible. Liked so I can come back and listen to this often. Remarkable job, gentlemen!
That was frickin amazing! I actually yelled and clapped at the end in my house totally by myself, audience of one. Love the sounds from all those guitars and passionate vocals on top! Wow. Loving this series.
Yes! All them little babies on the back of my neck went to full salute!
