I run a g48 as my edc because it truly is a perfect fit for me in all senses of the word, my only drawback was the 10 round mag, and the moment shield released their s15 mag, I got myself 4 of them, and it elevated my g48 to near perfect status. I ran g19’s and g22’s as duty weapons both in my time with the Army and my time as a contractor overseas, when I transitioned to civilian, I kept my g19 as my edc, but found the g48 to be a hell of a lot more easier and comfortable to conceal.
@@arturopuebla4924 tbh for someone like myself that’s heavily into fitness and like to wear tight clothes, no, the g19 is really bulky and prints like crazy. I do edc it here and there when I’m wearing baggier clothes, hoodies, jackets, but other than that, I run my g48 mos.

Couldnt agree more. I carry 43x daily but something just didnt feel right, so i ended up ordering a 48 zafirri precision slide today. Ever since i seen the 48 i knew id like the longer slide. Im a 19 guy forsure just not my daily carry. I feel like 48 is a good compromise
Hell, I bought the Shield mags BEFORE I bought the 43x. I was on the fence with the P365 and those mags sealed the deal. Just upgraded to the mos and looking forward to getting my swampfox red dot in the mail any day now.

Same! I was on the original pre-order for them and have my Gen 1s still. Bought the 43X for this reason and knew they were working on a steel 9 round mag for the G43 ages ago. Its done now. G43 holds 9+1 now.

I wouldn’t like a 10 round mag either if I could rip through 15 rounds in about 5 seconds. In reality a 10 round mag in a pistol this slim is perfectly fine to me.

I carry the 48 but haven't bought the s15 yet because it doesn't make sense running a glock with an aftermarket mag. The whole reason you get a glock is so you don't have to worry so much about malfunctions.

People always worry about this. Yes if it’s in constant use it will wear out but they are super cheap and it’s easy to get a metal one or a replacements they don’t wear out as fast as people like to make it seem.

I see a problem with a uncoated steel magazine rubbing against a polymer mag release. Over time this is going to wear on the polymer release and loosen the fit. I had an experience like this with a Kahr pistol. After the first shot the mag would drop out. I sent it to Kahr but they did nothing and returned it and said it was fixed which it was not.
I would stick with the 15 rounders only with a metal magazine catch. My Glock 48 stock non MOS functions flawlessly with shield arms gen 2&3 magazines and metal mag catch all day in 15 round capacity. Some people are on UA-cam claiming malfunctions after putting so much aftermarket stuff on the pistol.
They've had it from the beginning. A friend of mine got in on the pre-orders. He got 3 mags, 2 5rd extensions and the metal mag release. It was ordered September last year. He carries a 15rd mag in the gun and a 20rd for backup. The only negative to the 5rd extension is it's the same price as the mag. You do get a different spring with the extension though.
After 35 years and thousands of rounds through various Glock pistols, the Glock platform is my go-to defensive carry firearm. I love firearms of many types so not a "fanboy". But for serious purposes my experience has always brought me back to one Glosck or another over the years. NEVER had a mag related malfunction with stock Glock mags. I had high hopes for the S15 mags. On paper, they sound great after all. However, after a couple of mag related malfunctions with the S15 mags I'm a HARD no-go with them. And while the capacity advantage of the Shield mags looks awesome on paper, ANY decrease in reliability of my defensive firearms is unacceptable. I paid way too much for two S15 mags that are now just paperweights. Fine for range use, but who needs expensive mags for range use?? Good for stoppage clearance drills I suppose... 🤷♀ I'd NEVER trust my life to ANY aftermarket Glock mag. Magazines are the heart of any semiautomatic firearm. Factory Glock mags are the most reliable I have ever used in any firearm in well over 45 years of shooting. In my experience, deviating from a proven design for unnecessary capacity considerations is just not worth it.
I know it's a bit late to comment on this and you may already be well aware, but apparently if you're using the 15 round mags you're supposed to swap out the mag release to the metal on they sell so that it catches better. It says on the website that the metal mags aren't meant to be used with the polymer mag release.
I love my 43x for carry and I carry an extra 20 rounder. However people complain all the time about the shield arms mags not chambering hollows properly. Never had it happen to me. Lot of hate videos on them

The point of the 48 is that it was actually designed for the Canadian market. That’s the shortest barrel you can have on a handgun there.
They make the G19 with a slightly longer barrel specifically for canada. But yeah the 48 is a decent canadian EDC

Issue with the SA mags are that they do not drop freely when ejected.
Your supposed to pair it with their mag release. The metal mag doesn't like the polymer mag release
I cleaned mine with Ballistol and they have continued to drop with no problem.
