Completely what I expected
Linkin park dominated it. Korn and limp bizkit close behind, slipknot a bit behind them and bands such soad, disturbed, evanescence, papa roach and godsmack with a couple hits and then the one hit wonders like trapt and saliva. Only felt like deftones and mudvayne deserved more than one song each in this ranking.
Saliva was more like a 4 hit wonder though.

Its incredible that Linkin Park just sort of closed the book on an entire genre. They came out with Hybrid Theory and Meteora. And everyone sort of felt that it had peaked after that. That's why all those songs are classics.

I love how Korn are in there like several times like, "hold my beer", the real pioneers at Nu metal music lol. Nu metal started with Korn, they paved the way for other nu metal bands.
Why does so much of Nu-Metal sound like excellent music for the gym? Like damn, I love listening to Linkin Park, Korn, Slipknot, and Limp Bizkit, among others when I’m at the gym lol
A lot of the songs sound angry which goes well with the gym vibe, try: dig, people = shit, and whole 'dry kill logic' band

Granted Slipknot came out when Nu-metal was blooming but to put “All Out Life” and “Unsainted”on the list doesn’t seem correct. I feel that by the time Vol. 3 was released, they were a metal band, shedding the nu-metal skin. Thoughts?
Yeah I feel the same way. Their first album definitely sounded more nu metal to me but songs like Sulfur or Devil in I just sound way different from what I would consider nu metal

Unsainted is a bit of nu metal i think. Its like the modernized version of their Self Titled material with better production and catchier hooks on the Chorus

1998 had so much mu metal songs that ever started the band or was there 2nd or 3rd album. and they both became popular during the early 2000s or mid to late 90s.
Out of 50 songs Linkin Park had like 15 of them and entire top- LEGENDS

No surprise the list is swarmed with Linkin Park with the top song being, let's say, far of being a hallmark of the genre. With all my sincere love for hybrid theory, not a fan of their subsequent releases. But what really took me off guard was Evanescence so high all over the place and Papa Roach hitting top five. Didn't see that coming at all. Although a bit sad Deftones has only one track here. But, oh well, they've never been so hugely popular as the other bands on the list.
Anyways, great stuff.
i was also disappointed with the lack of deftones songs but to be fair, they never liked being grouped in with all the nu metal bands anyway.
yeah this list is cool and all but should be named "top 00's rock songs" and not top numetal because half of these bands have much better nu metal songs and there is almost no music from 95-00 which is the actual nu metal golden era in what music and creativity means
Mudvayne and specially deftones are two bands that fell off after their hype back in the day, while linkin park, slipknot, Korn and others kept themselves alive in the digital era.

Everyone should stop for a minute and appreciate what Linkin Park have done. They are the best and most influencing band ever. It doesn't get any better than this. There is no other band that can match their quality.

Linkin park took a style of music and made it mainstream. To be "the best and most influencing band", you need to start a new era of music. For the nu metal, korn are definitely the most influencing band.
Lol, Cuz of Chester's suicide, Linkin' Park became so overrated. Only 2 albums of Linkin' Park was ''Nu Metal''. I'm not saying I don't like LP but If someone is more into "Nu Metal'', their favorite Band can't be LP and their favourite song isn't Numb. There are many other bands better than LP according to the genre. We miss Chester and love him but it doesn't mean LP is God of Nu Metal.

I think, they deserve even much more credit. I've been fan of LP since 2000 and I accepted all the changes in their style. Of course, even I was shocked, when they released for example A thousand suns. I was like "wtf is that, thats not LP anymore". It took me some time with that album, but then I realised it's just a masterpiece. Of course, its not nu metal, but they don't fear to come out out of their comfort zone (which HT and Meteora definitely was, it was soooo succesful) and bring some new stuff even if they don't know how fans will react. I love for example Billy talent and Foo Fighters too, but they do things the same for 20 years. But Linkin Park not and are still succesful, because they haven't released a bad stuff, no matter which music style it is. The goal is to be not stuck at HT and Meteora and go on.

And many ppl boost the songs popularity by covering it. So this is how LP's got overrated and got top 1 on this list. You can't say No to the fact that LP's got more popular after Chester's death. RIP Chester but he's not my favorite Nu Metal front man and LP isn't one of my favorite Nu Metal band.
