Are you a member of The Tabernacle Choir? I hope to be able to sing with them at some point. I am a member of The Church and also a member of the Vocal Majority. We have sung with you all many times over the years and I hope one day soon we can do it again. Hugs from Texas
This has to be what Heaven sounds like. Just stunningly beautiful. Thanks for the emotional and genuine reaction. Have you thought of joining a choir again? It will all come back to you!
Look up Millennial Choirs and Orchestras. I think I like them a tad better because they also include children. Their concerts are the most powerful I’ve ever been to.
Just for historical context - leaders of the LDS Church would often remind the members that angels attend the Tabernacle Choir to bring joy and peace to all of God's children. And... in 1986 the Readers Digest suggested that the Tabernacle Choir is the greatest on earth: ",,,because it is the Lord's choir." I report this humbly. - 🐻🎸🎼
Love The Tabernacle Choir! The harmonies started getting to me right off the bat. YUMMY! Watching and listening to them always takes me back to my own school, community, and church choir days. I miss them so much! In high school, I was always in the honor choirs and bands, so I got to travel to either Anchorage or Fairbanks--whichever larger town was hosting the big event (which was combined for the honor choirs and bands) for that year. Going to those and being in both parts was always REALLY fun, but, wow!!! Hard to keep up with the full week's worth of music on both fronts. I would go back and do it again, ANY DAY! Our Valdez, Alaska school was quite tiny, at the time (not as much these days, from what I've seen in my brother's photos). My graduating class was 13 people (I was the Valedictorian). My brother Gary's (the photographer) class was 36 people...the largest class in our entire system at the time.We were both in all of the choirs and pep bands, and all of that stuff. In later years, my other (younger-younger) brother, and my sister were both in the bands and choirs, as well. It's just what our family has always done! As a community, we always did either The Messiah or just a program of special Christmas songs that most everyone knew. We also had people from different parts of the world, who brought their Christmas songs with them, so sometimes we got to learn some of those, as well. I'm right with you, about the music. I can NEVER get enough of it, whether I'm singing, playing, or just listening. Music just slides through me. Thank you VERY much, Carlos. That was a SUPER GREAT reaction. 😀
I was a singer in this group for10 years, and felt the power of being in the middle of a group that creates this level of beauty. I encourage you to go to Salt Lake and be there for an open rehersal on any thursday night or a performance on every sunday morning, also open to the public. Just Do It.

For most choir directors, you can choose to be small, which allows you to be delicate and light- dancing from note to note. Or, you can be big, which allows power and "that wall of sound". Mack Wilberg and the Tabernacle Choir chose both. Getting 300 choir members to be as light and responsive as a choir of 25 borders on the impossible...yet here it is. That is one of the reasons that I believe Wilberg is one of the premier choir directors in the world right now.
I was there. My Dad sang with this Choir for 17 years, I have had the honor of being at several of these concerts and events over my lifetime. The recordings are amazing, but in-person is life altering.
@@andrewjex5740 Same, my parent sang in the choir as well. I was even in the bells on temple square for a time. In person is the best way to experience this music.
I sympathize with your reaction, my friend. I was a choir kid myself through my middle school and high school years, and in a community choir for a few years afterwards, so I have a true soft spot for choirs and choral performances.
That would be so cool if someone from the lds church allowed you to practice with them sometime . They have done before with others who are not members of the choir.
As a kid, I wanted to sing with them like you do. I went to a few of their concerts and love every moment. In high school I actually had the opportunity to sing in the same building and that overwhelmed me. In college I sang in a large choir, but things change and my life was so that I had no time to be in that group. I still love to hear them. Because of life,I can no longer sing and can only listen. Music still is my escape. It’s better than reading a book.❤
I’m not religious, however a lover of Music and am in awe of what this choir does. Their MD is a genius. He brings out the very best of these voices. Have never heard a choir do what the Mormon Choir achieve. I am constantly fighting emotions when they sing….. ❤
I can hardly type due to emotion atm. This choir has always had the ability to move me. Truly inspired. And all volunteer, done from the heart with a contrite spirit.
This performance has my mother-in-law in it. She joined the choir the same year our daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer. My daughter passed away about 8 years ago. She says every time she sang with the choir she felt Rachel sing with her. My daughter, despite having gone mostly deaf from the chemo, loved music so much her entire almost 4 year life. We know she's singing praises to God in heaven now. Oh, and my dear cousin is in the orchestra as well.
that particular arrangement was written by the director, Mack Wilberg. Just beautiful. You’re so right when you said “Glorious”. Glory be to God is what comes through this music. You’re also right when you said the technical is so right on… but beyond that (or because of that?) There is an emotional spirit that one feels they are actually touched by God. Your reaction to that music also moves me to feel that same Spirit of God in it. Thank you so much for sharing this.
I hope you come to salt lake. They would love to have you. They would probably have you sing with them. You are feeling the Holy Ghost. Come hear them on oct 5 and 6th for conference. Love you💕and your sweet reaction.

My only regret after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was not moving to Utah and trying out for this amazing choir in the early 90s
The purpose of music is testify to each person's soul who they are in the eyes of God. Who God is in the lives of His children on earth. You feel that because you are His beloved child. You should do whatever you can to get to Salt Lake City and stand in the conference center to hear this angelic choir. Its a moment if a live time. Stay there as long as you can. They sing the truth.
That was a beautiful experience. There no words to describe the feeling that this quire gave me. My whole body can feel it and is affecting me for a long time.
As a member of the Church that sponsors this wonderful choir, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I can promise you, this is deeper than just emotion. It is the Spirit of God testifying of truth.
You should check out the Choir's version of Angels from the Realms of Glory! It is my favorite! I loved your your face light up during the reaction. I do the same.
Glad you loved our beautiful choir. Imagine what all the choirs of heaven will sound like one day... This is how Jesus creates perfection and touches our souls so profoundly ❤❤❤
Sitting there, you can physically feel the power of that singular voice. Watch the Angela Lansburry Christmas program with them with a full box of tissue.
I don't need to imagine being there. I used to live one mile away from that building and would attend on a regular basis. Yes, it is absolutely fascinating to be in that room and hear them singing with the full orchestra. Even better to sing with them during General Conference. Imagine being in a room with 21,000 voices all singing together. Yeah, It's awesome. You might want to consider looking up a Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert.
I have just listened to the introduction of heaven. This is just a sample of the beauty and power of Jesus in human glorious voices on earth. I too, had tears at heavenly beauty. From Scotland
@@SeanFabien my favorite arrangement of this song with the Tabernacle Choir is actually the one with the Kings Singers: ua-cam.com/video/NU2TlwcH3h4/v-deo.htmlsi=Ngxx5q8TQAWj9yl1
Viking, I completely understand your strong emotions when hearing this. I'm a 69 year old male, was in a choir as a young boy and have always had strong emotions and tears when listening to music. The only difference between you and me is I wouldn't even be able to talk! I'd also need a box of tissues at my side. You are not alone my friend, I cry along with you. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Love your reactions.
If i could make money singing in choir i would. My favorite place to be. I love harmonizing. Great reaction! I live in Utah. I love going to watch their rehearsals...lol
The power and love of God is shared when you listen to this Chior. They are all volunteer and do not get payed! You feel the Holy Ghost when you listen to them. ❤
This is my first time to see one of your videos. You couldn't pick a better subject than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and this specific song. This is a new arrangement of Oh Holy Night that I have ever heard and it is just stunning. I remember years ago watching the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Sunday morning broadcast and the music from the choir and orchestra was overwhelming. I have sung in choirs from elementary through college and church and amazed by the power music has. I think about the sound engineers for the Mormon Tabernacle and listening Sunday to Sunday and not be overwhelmed by the sound and how it feeds to soul and swell up inside. I would think they would keep kleenex close by for the tears. Thank you for your post and hope to see more.
I had the opportunity to listen to them in person in Mexico City last year, and it was electrifying to be in the presence of their sound. It really brings you tears and it’s hard to describe in words.
Thank you for playing this very inspiration hymn to lighten up my afternoon. God bless. I love the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. Peace and happiness to you and all.💗💗💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏💗💗😊😊
I would suggest a 4th of July performance or ANY performance where The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square (with the orchestra) sings "The Battle Hymn of The Republic"! I was privileged to hear them sing "The Battle Hymn of The Republic" with the orchestra AND the United State Marine Corps Herald Trumpet Band when Utah celebrated their statehood centennial back in 1996. It is STILL the PINNACLE of musical performances that I've witnessed in my almost 70 years on this planet, and I've seen some AMAZING musical performances! You just can't go wrong with The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square! Bonus: Salt Lake City is BEAUTIFUL!
What you hear is more that just the musical dynamics. The choir members sacrifice a lot to sing with that group, and each and every one of them believes in the literal truth of what they are singing. I hope you have the privilege of singing with them sometime.
Ive listened to them live twice in my life. Just beautiful. They preform every Sunday morning at the old tabernacle for Music and the Spoken Word. If you ever get the chance go see them.
I got a chance to finally see the choir about 15 years ago at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. They were like a majestic, perfect sound machine. Carlos Santana likes to tell people that great music actual rearranges the body’s molecular structure, like when you get goosebumps. Well, my experience was like that and more. It actually became a spiritual experience for me. And, I could have sworn there was an angelic concourse directly above the choir. But, even that doesn’t adequately describe it.
I was there. That's my favorite Christmas song, too. And my reaction was the same as yours... it was the highlight of the entire season. That sacred song/oratorio (?), must be experienced, not just heard. Thanks for sharing.
The message is so powerful. I understand your emotions. I can never sing the entire song. I start choking up and tearing up. It wrecks me - in a good way.

I get very emotional when hearing choir! Choir! Choir! Where random folks up to thousands getting turned into a choir especially when over 1500 random people, kids, adults, black, white etc etc sing Hallelujah, maybe you can watch it yourself. It makes me cry everytime ❤
❤❤❤❤ WOW
Music has always been a huge part of my life. You are so right... it can touch you in a way nothing else does.
So Beautiful!!!!
I am teared up too... wow
Thank you so much fo sharing this ❤
Merry Christmas to you and your family... and may your new year be filled with much love and happiness... ❤
That was undoubtedly the most beautiful arrangement of o holy night I've ever heard - ever ever ever 😍
Glad you loved our beautiful choir. Imagine what all the choirs of heaven will sound like one day... This is how Jesus creates perfection and touches our souls so profoundly ❤❤❤
The Holy Spirit touches our hearts when the words ring truthful and clear. It's emotional to all who feel the Spirit.
Music has so much power, to promote good or evil feelings and actions. Music seems to speak to the soul! Thank you.
I’ve had the privilege to hear them in person. It’s so much more impressive to be there!
I love to hear them sing the "Hallelujah Chorus"! Brings me to tears every time! 🙏
That was so beautiful! Well done, it just moves you to tears!!
This was dad’s favorite Christmas carol. He died last January after being in the hospital during Christmas.
God rest his soul 💗
You’re more than welcome to come listen to the Tabernacle Choir in person!
My all time favorite Christmas song.
The Holy Spirit just touched my ♥. Wonderful celestial music
I love choral music. ❤️ Bring it on. 🎶
So beautiful. They sound like Angels.. I think God is pleased!
Thank you for sharing your feelings with us. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
The conductor arranges most of the songs. He is extremely talented!!!1
Now, you know what heaven feels like all of the time!
That feeling is the Spirit of God.
The Choir's weekly Sunday morning program Music and the Spoken Word is a great way to start the week.
... and a great way to bring peace to your day on ANY day!
Peace and happiness to you and all.💗💗💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏💗💗😊😊
Thanks for your raw reaction! And your insights!
My pleasure!!
Consider this. 360 voices that reflect the concept of "one voice" as they all sound the same. Mack Wilburg is a musical genius with his arrangements
Mack Wilberg is a genius evoking emotions through this choirs music. He's taken them to a higher level.
@@born2tilt_4ever totally agree with you on that. Brother Wilberg is a musical genius.
You need to attend one of their Christmas concerts.
Thank you so much for playing these peaces from the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. I love them so much and I'm thrilled that you do too.
Like a hug from Heaven
My favorite song too. I get emotional every time. 🥲
What you hear is more that just the musical dynamics. The choir members sacrifice a lot to sing with that group, and each and every one of them believes in the literal truth of what they are singing. I hope you have the privilege of singing with them sometime.
There is no other like this choir of angelic voices!
The Choir does worldwide tours every 2 years. Viking, my prayer for you is that sometime in the future you can attend a concert ❤
I was there. That's my favorite Christmas song, too. And my reaction was the same as yours... it was the highlight of the entire season. That sacred song/oratorio (?), must be experienced, not just heard. Thanks for sharing.
USA President Mr. Ronald Reagan loved the Tabernacle choir. I love their songs
R. Reagan said this choir "is America's CHIOR".
Amen bro...I know exactly how you feel.
Sanctifying to the bone.
Yes indeed
My favourite Christmas Carol is Oh Holy Night !!!!
I absolutely understand you. I love all your reactions but especially the ones of Dan...😉 Thank you
He’s calling you back to the fold. 😇
What Beautiful Spiritual heart Felt emotions . It makes it that much more beautiful when Spirit touches Spirit.
The message is so powerful. I understand your emotions. I can never sing the entire song. I start choking up and tearing up. It wrecks me - in a good way.
