Sissel singing Like an Angel Passing Through My Room during a program with the Tabernacle Choir is fantastic. It's an ABBA song which she truly does justice to.
My wife and I took our young family to this concert. We were not expecting to hear such a spiritually moving performance at a Pioneer Day celebration. We were absolutely stunned! We knew we had just witnessed something incredible. Something that didn't seem a part of this Terrestrial world. A Celestial moment. Yes, we gave her a long, heart-felt standing ovation, which was rightly deserved. My young kids were a bit bored and fussy during the beginning of the concert. But during this song they were mesmerized and sat perfectly still during the song. I wonder if anyone even took a breath during it. I feel it an honor even being a part of the the audience that got to experience Sissel live and in person. She will forever have our hearts and respect. Love you Sissel. Please come back again!
Thank you for reacting to Sissel. This song is very special because it is a prayer unto God. She sings with such focus, clarity, and reverence. It helps us to feel something special, that God is our loving Heavenly Father and he is with us. Be still, slow down and know that He is God.
I'm soon turning 60 and I have heard a lot of live performaces. I usually listen to rock, funk and heavy, but over the years I have built my self a musical goosebump radar that is imune to musical genres. She is soo good. Probably one of the best liveperformances I ever heard.
I totally agree.. it was soooo amazing.. I remember watching it when it was broadcast. I have always loved Sissel.. but this was beyond Sissel.. I had never heard anything.. not anything like this before.. I was stunned into silence.. I just sat mesmerized as i listened to her sing this etherial song.. It is celestial.. totally heavenly..
I live in Salt Lake and I was there that night! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! When she was done singing, all those 21,000 people blown away by what they had just seen! I’ll never forget that day and that feeling! It was so special!
I was there too! My first! I have replayed this one dozens of times & remain in awe. When the audience started their standing ovation it was very courteously enthusiastic but grew louder with amazing spine tingling excitement that sent chills and goosebumps all over me! I have never ever in my 70+ yrs ever experienced any musical thrill like it!
I guarantee you’ve heard her voice. She was the vocal on the Titanic movie. That iconic song was her. I’ve been a huge fan of hers for almost 30 years. She has the clearest purest voice I’ve EVER heard ❤️
It isn’t her first time performing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for their Christmas Concert. She is back by popular demand, and valued highly for the purity and clarity of her soprano voice, not only for performances like this but also for, literally, every vocal she performs! The woman’s voice and talent using that voice are the best I have ever heard!
The voice of Norway for the last 35 years or so. Her voice matches the scenery of Norways west coast in the summer perfectly. That's where alle the deep fjords and steep mountains are. This song and performance takes me to the exact emotional place the song is encouraging. So beautyful
She is beyond “good”! This woman’s soprano voice is regarded as the clearest, purest approach to vocal perfection that’s been heard by any of us for a long time! (Just repeating what I’ve heard other vocal coaches say, and with which my ears and judgement agree.)
She is just incredible. She is Norwegian. She was the one Titanic was written for. They choose a more known Celine - but she got to sing Titanic suit. (the none word part). She has been singing with the biggest operators in the world - and with Prince igor and many others. She has been on the most famous stages, but has always been a family girl. No diva, sweet and normal. No one sings "Pie Jesu" like her. ua-cam.com/video/I1ghkPFb90E/v-deo.html When she got 50 - she gave us 50 youtube videos by her daughter - with an extra to each song, explaining why she chose that song and her thought around this, Very beautiful made.
Thanks for reacting to Sissel....she is just worldclass. Anyway...My favorites of all her performences are when she sings "Surrender" (Elvis Presley) and "Wait a while" (Jon Lord...from Deep Purple)....We all admire Sissel and her singing chills
I am glad that you finally discovered Sissel. She is an angel in all sense. I would like to meet her in the eternal life and sing together with her in God's choir. May God find me in His faith when His Son is coming to us again.
Love to see you get moved by Sissel….duh! A pure voice that pulls at your heart strings. You will be amazed with another Sissel performance at the same Pioneer Concert with the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in SLC. Please give “Angel Passing Through Your Room” a listen to. I look forward to it. Keep it up and I also love your reactions to Angelina Jordan.
Sissel (seesle) Kyrkjebø (share' shi ber, "lives in a church" in Norwegian), Over 30 years of singing, 10+ million albums sold, long considered one the best classical-crossover singers (mezzo-soprano) and has sung almost every genre, including opera, with an arm's length list of performers. Choir: The 300 voice The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square (Mormon Tabernacle Choir), one of the most famous choirs in the world.
Just a minor correction. Bø doesn't mean lives in. You mix that up with bo. The Norwegian letter ø is pronounced something like the u in butter. O is pronounced in a way you don't have a sound for in English. The closest is probably the oo like in noon. You form the o by forming your lips like a forward circle. A bø is a fenced in field usually with buildings. So Kyrkjebø means the field with a church. Kyrkje is the western Norwegian dialect word for the Norwegian word kirke. Kirke means church.
'Slow down, I know that he is God" what a powerful message in the song, our lives are so busy with fruitless empty activities, let us take the time to slow down and feel his spirit and accept him as our savior and we will know that the he lives. I attended this performance and it was the best live performance I've vever heard . Sissel has an amazing repertoire.

that is absolutely one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard.. yeah the audience completely lost it.

From the same concert, try Like an Angel Passing Through My Room. An ABBA song sung by the best voice around today.

Please react to more Sissel performances. She is very special. Love her.
Sissel did the "non-verbal" voice in movie "Titanic"! I cannot get this song out of my head!
This is an epic performance. It's flawless and utterly emotional and moving. Thanks. a lovely reaction, too. 😊

She’s the best!
She has had massive training.
Very spiritual
No reactor has done Sarah's Song (?). There are a number of live vids on UA-cam of Sissel singing this song that she wrote for her daughter Sarah. A pop song with reasoned lyrics & cogent message.
If you listen to her performance of "Adagio" by Albinoni, ua-cam.com/video/0F8qJUZZ0hg/v-deo.html and do not stop until the end of the video, you may hear her name be pronounced correctly by the commentator at ab. 4.28/29 out in the video. And also at the very end of the "Surrender" video ua-cam.com/video/kxVoHnepfuc/v-deo.html
For good measure I will recommend a beautiful little pearl: ua-cam.com/video/awlKCeDKH_o/v-deo.html
Kudos should go to Choir director Mack Wilberg for that arrangement.
Lovely Sissel!!!
5:28 When the Choir joins in and you hardly notice.. ❤❤ 🤯
Yes you do know her!
Celine sang the theme song from titanic, which actually was never in the movie, Sissel did the entire soundtrack save nearer my god to thee.
This song was originally done in the early 70s, and very obscure and had a very different arrangement.
Bochelli - the Lords prayer - with the Mormon Tabernacle Chior....he holds the longest note on record..and it's very powerful!
Love your reaction. React to Wait Awhile
I would like you to react to a song by Diana Navarro the song is called "El perdón" she is a Spanish singer. Very versatile she sings different styles of music. With a very particular voice full of melismas.saludos

Also, please react to The Lord’s Prayer by Andrea Bocelli and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It is heavenly!

Sorry, this young man is too immature to 🐝 evaluating Sissel.
