It's a little strange to react to a spiritual hymn of a religious group and then not want people to share their religious experiences in return. That being said, you are correct that no one can tell you how you are feeling. Although, sometimes when I'm angry people point it out and I hadn't realized it. This version is full of mysticism, drama, and the profound ecstacy of being taken up into Heaven. It isn't just a nice old hymn anymore, but a deep emotional experience to listen to.
Great reaction! Thank you for allowing yourself to feel the emotions engendered by this incredible performance. One hundred plus men singing together in perfect harmony, lifting up a majestic prayer for nearness to God. Beautiful. Awesome. Overwhelming. Tears are an appropriate response.
Last spring I did this song with my high school choir. I am a low bass. The sound waves in the room were incredible. As I am religious the lyrics have a profound meaning to me. But as you are not I would just like to say that I am glad you enjoy the power behind the voice. The music touches the soul. It doesn’t matter if there’s a god or not. Music has power.

James, the soloist, actually wrote this arrangement and originally performed it. He’s a BYU vocal point alum. I’ve enjoyed all of their videos so far, and it’s interesting to see the change of vocalists over the years. Also, it’s Latin.
Even cooler, the sheet music for this arrangement is completely free everywhere you find it, because James says it came to him as a gift from God and therefore it belongs to everyone. Whether you believe in God or not, that's still an awesome thing to do.

The polyphonic layering of this song brings the power to inspire and connect to your sophisticated soul within you. To get the full emotional breadth you must seek to understand the meaning conveyed in BOTH songs witnessing to you of truth in the beauty of sound and harmony. Down In the comments of UA-cam Vocal Point versions they have the Latin lyrics and the translation into English which is powerfully triumphant in meaning as well as sublime! Worth it to seek the understanding as you listen again. Check out the meaning of the two songs sung on top of each other to buoy you up with eternal optimism …come what may! You can walk through any trial if you can maintain the divine power of heaven that infuses your soul as you listen to this and contemplate its meaning!
If you believe in Jesus Christ, and are personally trying to live all or many of his commandments, though not actively attending this, Christ's church, right now, you can still call yourself a Christian (the word means you believe in Jesus Christ) and pray to God the Father, "Heavenly Father, I thank thee for.. ", and end all your prayers sincerely saying, "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen". Yes. :-) You may end your prayers in the full name of Jesus Christ, because there are many Mexican people who name their sons 'Jesus'... Believe that God the Father is more likely to give attention to, and then give answer to one's sincere prayer for spiritual blessings, if he hears the name of his son, Jesus Christ, at the end of your prayer, before you say the the 'amen' which ends your communication with him for the time being. Avoid foul words in your prayers, as Jesus Christ created 'all things' in the universe, above, on, and in the Earth, very willingly, as was directed by his Father in Heaven, so using the names of those creations, even the word 'Hell' (that Christ created as a place for where 'Satan the Devil' should always reside in forever, eternally forever), should not be used either. Jesus Christ gives us the direction saying, "Swear not at all." :-)
I've seen their performance video countless times and absolutely love it. While watching your video I was reminded of the great joy I felt in singing in choirs huge (350+ voices) and small. There is a beauty of unity and strength when people sing together. Seeing your reaction made my eyes leak too. Thank you!

@@QofyReacts you’re right. You loved it. It’s beautiful and touching. I said it was THEIR genuine love for God. It’s all voluntary and a very strict program to dedicate their talents during what would be classified as college party years. You have a nice channel that I came upon by accident. I hope you have a wonderful day.
I also cry sometimes when listening to Billie Eilish or Michael Jackson … could it be that maybe certain chords and crescendo styles just move us regardless of the theme of the song religious or not? Or that Spirits and Gods are involved when it’s gospel and devils and demons are involved when it's secular music? Occam’s razor

This is one of my top favourite songs of all time thanks to this arrangement (though I first heard it done by monster tenor Tim Waurick, who did a solo version of this, I can really recommend checking out his solo work, as well as his work with his Barbershop quartet Vocal Spectrum, specifically their version of Good Vibrations. He has one of the most insane vocal ranges ever, he can go nearly as low as Matt of PTX and up beyond counter tenor, rivalling full on sopranos). The Latin counter melody is so awesome I can barely express it in words, it gives the song an absolutely amazing vibe!
This was beautiful, and YOU are beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing! Also, I love all your insights and technical vocal explanations about how they are able to do all that! Noteworthy did an incredible rendition of Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone. QoFY, I would love to see a reaction to that song. Also, BYU combined choirs and orchestra did an amazing version of Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, and I think that would also make a great reaction video.
I find it very respectable that you still can hold respect and see beauty in Christian music even when you are atheist. I think that shows a lot of maturity. I don't think the believers and the non-believers should be at odds with each other because at the end of the day we are human beings who seek the same peace and comforts in life. Unity solves all problems and finding commonality is far better than pinpointing differences.
I appreciate your respect 🫡 We’ll have to agree to disagree on the “being at odds” part😂 Believers and non believers have always been at odds because of how both parties think of each other. Especially when some religious doctrine teaches them to disregard non believers and see them as literal “children of the devil” and deserving of destruction in hell at the end of the day… simply for not sharing the same belief system. I find it difficult to ignore that part. It’s sad. I do have friends I love that claim to love me back but simultaneously accept a belief that I in some way deserve to be tortured forever… All I think about them is that I wish them well in all that they do. As I don’t have any baggage towards them. Those 2 things cannot merge. Do you understand my disagreement?
Watching you react was so freaking fun. It’s as though you hear music in color, picking apart each part as if it has its own unique, majestic color. I think most people appreciate music, but not many see it as clearly and magically as you do. It’s obvious you have a gift and a love of music. It was such a joy for me to watch YOUR JOY. How you express yourself and digest the music is out of this world. Thank you for spreading your light and recognizing the light in others!

I’m not even a Christian anymore, but this arrangement makes me cry every. damn. TIME. 🙌🏻
Yes. :-)
You may end your prayers in the full name of Jesus Christ, because there are many Mexican people who name their sons 'Jesus'...
Jesus Christ gives us the direction saying, "Swear not at all." :-)
Christ loves you and wants you back on His side. He wants to dispel the darkness in your life. ❤️
@@Latterdaysaintcrunchymom You people just cant help yourselves can you?
@@QofyReacts well, no. Not really. ;)
@@Latterdaysaintcrunchymom You believe something cool. Why do you have to force it on others who clearly have not invited you to the conversation?
I've seen their performance video countless times and absolutely love it. While watching your video I was reminded of the great joy I felt in singing in choirs huge (350+ voices) and small. There is a beauty of unity and strength when people sing together. Seeing your reaction made my eyes leak too. Thank you!
So good!
Beautiful! These young men are so talented, iris inspiring!
Have you seen the the zoom version with BYU vocal point and the alums from around the world. I’ve watched it so many, many times. Oh my goodness, you’re crying.❤️. It touches your heart and you feel the genuine love for God. The soloist is in the zoom version. It makes you cry as well.
I loved. It had nothing to do with a God
@@QofyReacts God and His Spirit can speak through music and touch our hearts and souls ❤️
WOW! I really like the 7/8 swing in this. Thank you QoFy for introducing me to this group!
I am convinced that the Lord Jesus Christ is using these music groups to bring the gospel to the world❤❤❤
Brilliant reaction! Thank you 🙏
You have a beautiful voice! Thanks for letting us enjoy it with you.
You’re very kind ❤️
I can only hear from one ear, and still so so beautiful!
Subscribed. What a genuine reaction to something so stunningly beautiful.
I Love your Passion. It completes the effect.
Glad you enjoy it!
It was fun watching you listen to it.
Your reaction to this song is so enjoyable to watch! 😂
I think it was the most beautiful interpretation of this song! Thank you for listening to it. If you get a chance please listen to David Phelps "Nessun Dorma" Live. Thank you and God bless
Best reaction ever, love this and you made me cry as well
Please find more like that for us
You know it when your soul is involved. You can not stop the tears
I just LOVE your reactions to this!!! 😍😅😀
I completely agree! Best rendition of this song ever!!! So uplifting!
It’s amazing
That was beautiful. This groups harmonies and arrangements all acapella (sp?) are mesmerizing.

These are earthly angels.
If singing angels existed I would imagine it would be something amazing as this
I felt the same, tears rolling down my face.
What you were feeling was the witness of the Holy Spirit that drew your tears. I've had it happen many times and it always brings joy so deep....
No it wasn’t. Emotions are not caused by magic, I understand how mine works. Maybe yours are magic, have fun with that. Leave me out of it
You have an ear for music, for sure. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for listening
Beautiful singing thankyou i could listen to many more podcasts with beautiful singing like that you should sing more and use that beautiful talent God has given you
I appreciate your kind words. Except I'm an atheist and I do not believe in any God or gods. I dont think my voice is "given" There has been years of commitment and practice that lead to it sounding somewhat good. I wasn't born with it
I believe you are spot on!
This is surely the best rendition of this timeless
song of beautiful praise!❤
I Am LDS And My Cousin and Her Husband Sing In the Tabernacle Choir
I Am Happy To See This Podcast of Yours And That To Truly See The Appreciation That You So Humbly Shared And To See You Uplifted With The Spirit At The Same Time😊😢 Your Show Of Emotions, Was As Incredible As The Spirit Of The Singers Singing The Song With Their Whole Heart As Your Heart Was Touched With The Spirit❤
I agree. Vocal Spectrum is insanely good.
I love your smile, and your appreciation. I so wish I could sing. Ah well. 😂 Great reaction. ❤
They are amazing!
This was beautiful, and YOU are beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing! Also, I love all your insights and technical vocal explanations about how they are able to do all that! Really helped me understand and appreciate it even more … even though I’d heard this rendition several times before. Your depth of understanding and your musical knowledge and listening to it “with you” gave me chills! Deepend my experience and my enjoyment. Thank you!
You also have a beautiful voice!
What a wonderful experience to start my day with! Thank you so much! First time here and new follower now! ❤
great reaction bro ... Its very moving ...
Great reaction 🤩
WOW SO BEAUTIFUL 😍
Every single time I listen to this my emotions sore. No matter your belief this is truly magical. Turn your lights out put on your headphones and close your eyes absolutely breathtaking!
I have loved BYU Vocal Point for years and have somehow never heard this before. This is my new favorite arrangement of one of my already favorite songs! Thank you so much @QofyReacts for reacting to this video, or who knows if I would have ever found it 💜
Hey Qofy! Theres also a girl group called BYU noteworthy who are equally as good. Would love if you could check out there cover of ‘i can only imagine’
I appreciate your respect 🫡
We’ll have to agree to disagree on the “being at odds” part😂
Believers and non believers have always been at odds because of how both parties think of each other.
Especially when some religious doctrine teaches them to disregard non believers and see them as literal “children of the devil” and deserving of destruction in hell at the end of the day… simply for not sharing the same belief system.
I find it difficult to ignore that part.
It’s sad. I do have friends I love that claim to love me back but simultaneously accept a belief that I in some way deserve to be tortured forever…
All I think about them is that I wish them well in all that they do. As I don’t have any baggage towards them.
Those 2 things cannot merge.
Do you understand my disagreement?
I loved watching your face as you listened. It is a beautiful song.
It really is ❤
your reaction is adorable! I love your appreciation for music, and thank you for sharing!
Thank you too!
Absolutely one of my favorite arrangements done by Vocal Point!!!
It is incredible
The tear says it all. 😊
I love how sincere and expressive you are when you react!
Its the best way to do it
Watching you react was so freaking fun.
Your expressions are literally just the best thing I've ever seen! 🙂
You’re too kind
@@QofyReacts Seriously, this just absolutely made my whole dang WEEK!
