- In this installment of Alaska Small Craft Adventures, Ryan talks about the Winter solstice, what the Kenai River Salmon are up to and gives an update about what's been going on! Meet the newest cast member to the party, Ryan Jr breaks out on the scene in his debut during a nice winter snowstorm! Both Ryans are eager to get back out on the Kenai River for some Sockeye Salmon fishing next season. This episode shows some of the underwater footage from the Russian River during the peak of the Sockeye Salmon run and its abundance of Rainbow trout, Dolly Varden and Sockeye salmon. #Alaska #Fishing #Salmon

Congrats on the new addition. Don’t blink cause before you know it he will be grown. My favorite part of life ways with my kids. Thank you again for the tips you gave me when my brothers and I came up from Pennsylvania. I just booked another trip this July with RW outfitters. I could be making this a yearly thing. If I was younger I’d move there. I absolutely fell in love with Alaska. Enjoy the baby and the holidays. Btw. Our temps here will be 0 with wind chill 20-30 below
Thank you sooo much for the well wishes, Christmas was great this year with the lil one and I can really get used to spoiling him for the holidays. The joy and excitement is unlike anything else I've experienced. Also, it's great to hear you're going to make it back up this way. Every year is a little bit different and that keeps it exciting. And of course the fish show up with the sunshine and heat! :)

Good to see you're back! My wife and I had 5 kiddos under 5 yrs. old; the last 2 were twins. 15 grandkids now and life is great! Looking forward to fishing out of Seward next year, friends and family came up last year and I got them into some really nice fish.

I’m using a 9wt rod that’s about 9 ft long. Ugly stik bigwater. They’re like $85 and totally worth beating up on these salmon!
