Great video. I just moved up here and super excited to head out to the Kenai this weekend. What type of net was that? Noticed it has a bat in the handle. Enjoy watching your videos
Yeah, typically the last 2 weeks of July are the sweet spot for the 2nd run reds. The late arrival really messed with my trout fishing, which I like to fish for more than salmon.
I have known Tim and Pam for over 30 years and fish with them every year. Maybe we can meet you next year when we come up! Met John sitting around the camp fire with Tim, Pam (family), and Rod when we stopped by to look at the cabins Rod built@@AlaskaLivingToday
ah, it's glass then. No wonder it's thick. I was looking at it on the first fish around a minute and it looks like it's mid way between the size of a nickel and quarter.
Love fishing the bluffs!

Welcome to Alaska! Yeah the net/bat combo is pretty cool. I saw them at the Alaska Sportsman’s Show earlier this year and picked one up. handybonk.com
I visited my bro in Soldotna and spent 3 weeks in August and limited out every single day. Good thing the Red run was weeks behind schedule.

I met John this summer, he is camped across from Tim and Pam. Fishing was good this year!
John is my wife's uncle. We are camped just down from them. We are good friends with Tim and Pam as well.

what weight rod are you using? 12wt? It looks like a broomstick.
It’s an UglyStick 9/10 weight. A cheap rod so I don’t care when the weights chip it up or when it breaks on a fish eventually.

you are on the wrong side of the river.........easier to fish the other side........and ALWAYS have eye protection.....hooks and sinkers HURT!!!!!
Wrong side of the river, that’s a good one.
@stevelarson6384 Bro did you see how good of a fishermen they are? Seem to be doing very well, catching their limit.
This is the worst example of fishing…. It’s poaching
poaching... lmfao
Explain how I’m wrong? The fish are not going for your bait…
@@stiofain4693 these fish don't go for bait or lures... doesn't make it poaching.
