The Vox has a wider sweep, but the Cry Baby is a bit thicker and fuller sounding. I kinda prefer the Cry Baby.
The Vox with a Les Paul or SG because it let's more lows through.
I have a vox, I like the design and I think has a more pronounced effect, excellent channel, I´m susbcribing!
Thanks for Subscribing! I've really been digging the VOX wahs, too! Wouldn't mind getting my hands on the hand wired one! Cheers - Ryan
With the Cry Baby it sounds like you have to fully step from heel to toe to get that sweep sound, with Vox it seems like all you need is to just tap it.
Vox is a little bright but I'm planning on getting an ES-335 so it might be the best for me.
Although I honestly think everyone should own both.
The crybaby sounds more “classier » than the Vox.
The vox seems to sound a bit better, somewhat surprisingly. Maybe ill pick it up
To me the Vox seems to emphasize more high mids than the Crybaby.
I always have one or the other on my pedalboard, I play for a living. I generally prefer the Vox just because it is so much lighter.
Crybaby Classic Wah all day long over the VoX
@ 5:00 Vox has more highs- and overtones with those highs. Those overtones offer more sonic possibilities.
VOX has wider sweep
Crybaby: 'thicker' but nasal sounding, kills highs
VOX: more 'lively' sounding, preserves highs
Hendrix /Clapton used vox! nuff said!
Your not Clapton or Hendrix and Hendrix also used a original Crybaby Wah Also
So buy each of them
Vox all day e everyday, and twice on a Sunday.
Cry Baby sounds sweeter
The Crybaby classic over the Vox for sure
