It was not a senseless murder. It has an explanation that makes sense. Amber murdered Brandon in order to satisfy her angry grudge and to get custody of her son; like a two for one deal.
There are senseless murders out in the world; but this one doesn't qualify as senseless. This murder was murder in the first degree, planned and executed.

That’s something that needs to be said I’ll add that sometimes they’re some of the best fathers I’ve had the privilege to know. They usually treat their families like the privilege that they are. One of my friends got out of prison and got full custody of both kids from two different moms! He was far from perfect but who knows what would have happened with those kids if he didn’t get out when he did! Thank God for fathers that step up and try to stop the damage these mothers do. They use their children as power tools to harass the other parent “parental alienation” is a powerful weapon they use! So much so that in this case she couldn’t let him live having taken away her power over him she took his life! Just like a narcissist!!

Justin might have gotten away with it if he hadn't been idiotic enough to ask someone for help disposing of the body. Thankfully terrible people like him and Amber tend to make a lot of stupid mistakes which often leads the police right to them. Poor Brandon, he seemed like a really good dad who loved his son and wanted the best life for him. Amber was so self-centred that she didn't care about the pain she would cause her son by taking away his father. I can never understand how someone can hate their ex/partner more than they love their children.

It's sad that humans cannot see past their own emotions.
    * This guy defined too much of his self-worth on the notion of being with this woman.
    * He made up a magical narrative that connected this woman to his father, who he loved.
    * He ignored NUMEROUS red flags when they were dating. And still married her. And had a child with her.
    * He possibly got wound up over the men Amber was dating, instead of just dumping her ass.
    For her part:
    * She made her own damn bed and should have learned to live with the consequences; she should have let her ex-husband live in peace.
    * She stayed with a man she knew wanted a monogamous relationship, even though she did not want one, or at least, did not want one with him.
    * She married a man she did not really love, and bore him a child.
They should never have married. They should never have had a child. And now their kid has had their shit uploaded into his brain and will most likely pass on emotional damage to those around him as he grows up.
    Humans suck.
EDIT: I did say "most likely," because although it's not a certainty that someone raised in a dysfunctional family will pass emotional damage on to people around them, it's more the exception than the rule.

I still claim if starting in middle school we talk to actual therapists twice a year for checkups. I doubt it would have have helped in any great factor of this case, but for people with APD or on that side of the spectrum, early diagnosis could prevent so many cruel crimes especially murder occurring....child and adult behavioral developments are really complex. We really should treat mental health more like physical health with regular checkups starting about the age of abstract thinking (12 roughly) and onwards

This case makes no sense. Amber was acting like a single woman. She didn't seem to have much interest in being a wife or mother. She could have gone about her life acting like a single woman. There was no reason for her to kill her ex. I don't think she would have liked having custody of her son. And she took away her son's only good, loving parent.
