Longer barrel will produce more power .I use H and N match green lead free pellets in my 88 as they are only 5.25 gr they fairly boost the velocity numbers .
This CP88C is awesome. Love mine. Got the satin version myself, which I bought second hand some years back. The DA triggerpull even works so very nice that I often even do not bother shooting in SA. Though, the DA triggerpull might not cock the hammer as much back as the SA hammer lockup - or so it seem in some way as you shoot.. Probably would need a velocity test between SA and DA shooting, for just to be sure if there actually is a noticeable difference. . Been shooting mostly 7gr RWS wadcutters with mine. Shoots them well. Actually got a tin of Gecos along with the pistol. RWS pellets have always just fit so well within the UX 8rd alu drum mags..
I'll do a chronograph test in SA & DA to see if there is any difference mate. The sear release is quite heavy, over 8 Lb pull on both my CP88 & CP88C which is strange as my H&K P30 pull off is only 3.5 Lbs.
@@reevessairgunningreviews5572 I only have that one CP88C - and bought used. Oughta be have worn in already - but realistically I have of course no idea ofnthe actual pull/releaseweight on mine. But it surely feels good to shoot in either SA or DA. Can get accurate shots in DA quite easy. Never tested mine for fps - but it is so quiet sounding that it feels powerless..🤣 (referring to your mention about the low powered C model in your video..😁)
These are an excellent pistol. Original and the best in my opinion. The only thing that let's it down are the rather poor ( very basic) sights. 3 dots would be much more beneficial. Great gun 👍
Hi, trying to put new targets sights on mine, back one done but front one I'm having trouble with. The bottom art of the front sight is larger then the one I took off, can you help at all?
You can get an 11mm dovetail rail adapter for this pistol. The rail is also compatible with some of the other Umarex pistols. Link here.www.umarex.com/products/optics/mounting/416.112.html
Hi, what did you use to clean the oil off it and my lever to open the slide feels faulty as it's stiff and some times going all the way round then get's hard to close the slide. Can you help at all?
Much of the oil is on the inside of the plastic bag these pistols come in from new. I wiped mine out with so kitchen roll and same with the pistol. The release lever can rotate too much so just pull it down enough to open. Check the front slide screw by using the longer Allen key that comes will the pistol. It maybe loose or over tight that can affect the release latch.
Been using a CP88 Comp for over 20 years. It a fabulous pistol and so reliable. These newer ones are hopefully just as good.
Nice review, always fancied one of these!
Heyup chap, nice looking functional looking gasser 👍 quality review as usual, looking forward to the accuracy review, cheers buddy, Jon, 👍 Hawkes Eye TV 👍

A replacement rear sight with a narrower groove would definitely improve accuracy, as you could always add a white dot to the front.

@@reevessairgunningreviews5572 Thanks for your reply and help, I'll give it go to what you say. Will let you know how I get on.
Is it a rifled barral
@@tonyroberts1962 Yes indeed
Can the magazine loads " Crossman Fast flight pellet" ?
It looks quite a long pellet so probably will be too long for the 8 shot Umarex rotary magazine.
Oh.. No wonder they cost so much nowadays.. They come in sucha new and nice Umarex hard case...
