Great job to you guys on applying the coating properly! Also kudos to the owner, as they look like they have taken great care of the van. Appears they have washed it properly through the years.
Very very nice. Quality products + quality attention = quality outcome.
The coating is working amazing after such a long period.
Lithium products are top shelf for sure
Loved it as always! that van looks great! the coating is holding up nicely. Being garaged really helps! Great video, thanks for sharing and enjoy the weekend.
As a co-owner of a minivan (Honda) I use a platform ladder to get to the roof of the van. Super handy. Great vid!
Hi. Yes! I have one of those also. I just forgot to bring it that day. 😎👍🏼
You're living my dream life.
Still looking fantastic phil great job!
I have our daily driver ceramic coated as well and it's so much easier to clean and maintain!
UK 3.0 is top shelf. Cool video. Have you been topping it with anything prior to this?
Yes we maintain it every 2-3 months and top it each time with CarPro Reload.
Are you still using Essence+CQUK 3.0 combo? Haven't seen those in your videos long time.
Hi. Nope. I haven’t used that combo in years. It’s still great, but we use the Dr beasleys NSP polishes and Crystal Serum light.
Hey Phil, what's the maintenance schedule like on this vehicle? Do you guys maintenance it monthly or does the owner maintenance it themselves? That's pretty impressive. Great job and video
Hi. We maintain it every 2-3 months or so. He does wash it in between. Thanks! 😎👍🏼
What soap are you using for this product? High ph low ph or neutral
It’s Carpro Reset which is a ph 7 close to neutral.
@@MirandaDetailing using this soap will make the ceramic last longer I'm assuming? Thank you for the reply
Nice - Was UK also used on the trim?
Hi. We used CarPro DLUX which is a trim coating on the trim and wheels.
Can we use this coating on glass?
Hi. The coating we applied on the paint is dedicated for paint. you can get dedicated glass coatings also, like this bit.ly/378n2h7
My personal experience with CQuartz UK 3.0 was not so good. A couple of years ago I had my wife's Nissan Titan pickup truck coated professionally. Iwas going to do it myself but, I was struggling with a back injury and thought it was too big of a job for me to tackle myself. The installer put two coats of UK 3.0 and two coats of gliss and it stayed in his garage for 48 hours, then stayed in my garage for another 5 days before my wife decided to take the truck to work. First impressions were good I maintained the truck very well prior to my injury but the nano coating did give a nice gloss and initially I was impressed. About 2 weeks after installation my wife was going to work and that is where the problems began... we live in an agricultural area in the Southern California desert .. My Wife got a lot of bug bombs and what look like a humongous bird crap on the hood. Unfortunately she didn't realize that the bird bomb was there due to being at work... the car sat out all day so she brought it home and that Bird bomb etched into the paint so bad that the installer had to compound the hood and reapply the coating so it did not protect against the Bird bomb whatsoever. Additionally the bugs also etched into the bumper and the front of the hood that had to be recompounded and mind you this was 2 weeks after install. Now ironically my car which is similar in color but was a different automaker I used a synthetic wax on my car duragloss 105 601 combo... I had Bird bombs on my hood I had the same bugs because she drove my car to work because the installer had to have her truck for about a week and ironically everything just washed off my car. So personally I think nano coatings are little overhyped I think they are great for gloss but they don't prevent etchings of birds or bugs or water spots and for how much it costs and all the prep work and how much down time I mean my wife's truck was out of commission for over 2 weeks one week to have it initially applied and wait for it to cure and then another week for him to correct all the problems we had. Then on top of that in order for me to get any type of warranty from the installer he had to maintain the vehicle which I told him is ridiculous because my wife and I can maintain it fine but he was giving a personal warranty for the product only if he maintained the product which I thought also was ridiculous. So all in all I would rather use just a good polymer sealant apply it more frequently it's something I could do myself I have almost as good results for a lot less money. Of course different people's experiences may vary but mind you where I live is extreme I mean our summers are 120F+ and we get some really bad issues with paint here so I have a lot of experience in this extreme climate of what works and what doesn't and the nano coatings just didn't provide the protection that I was looking for your results May vary.
Wow sorry you had that experience...I know that a lot of people are misinformed when it comes to coatings, thinking that they are "bulletproof" The fact remains that any protection whether its a strong sealant or coating is not enough to protect against mother nature. The variables are also far to many and will drive us nuts trying to protect our vehicles. I have had both coatings and sealants in the past not really protect against bird bombs, sap, and bugs at all. Who is to say, if the sealants work for you then totally stick with it. I also offer a maintenance service along with any protection service whether its a sealant or coating because I know for a fact that customers don't really think twice about maintaining their vehicle after we are done because they just spent money and expect it last X amount of time before they start caring about the vehicle again. Even with coatings, they ALL need to be maintained properly no matter what. If a vehicle is exposed to the outside, it's inevitable that "stuff" will ruin the clear coat eventually. It's just what happens. I also know for a fact that coatings are not overhyped since we maintain a bunch of them and actually see rel world results, but again the variables play a huge role in that. So if your sealants are working that's awesome!! Keep on rocking with those.😎👍
@@MirandaDetailing not just any sealant worked though Phil. I found that the polyamino silicone based synthetic wax from Duragloss did indeed hold up to bird bombs so much better than the nano coating i just gave up on the nano coatings. Though i do still use Gliss as a stand alone sometimes. Duragloss 105/601 combo is a good combo and has worked best for me. Where i live i apply every 3 months. It's not bulletproof don't get me wrong, it just holds up better than UK 3.0 at least where I live, under my circumstances. Those include very extreme heat, monsoons and bugs from the local agriculture. What I'm struggling with now is bee pollen 🙄
Thats awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
@@eppyz - Every time I come across this message, I'm tempted to just offer Duragloss 601 + 111 + Aquawax as my highest protection option. I'm so in love with Duragloss for it's ease of use relative to the protection and durability their sealants offer.
I like 101 for an AIO type product.
@@danlc95 Very good idea for most people the dura gloss is good protection for a good price. Si02 based products are great but they have their weaknesses and price of one, install labor or hassle doing it yourself (prep/down time) duragloss just works and anyone can do it👍
How soon after a professional Cquartz coating can I apply the Gyeon ceramic detailer? Same day, next day, or do I need to wait a while? Thank you
Hi. if you wait 24 hours you can apply any topper or quick detailer you like.
Excellent video!
Where I find the link for products
Hi. All links are down in the video description.
Which Carpro snow foam did you use?
Hi. It was just CarPro Reset.
Is it worth doing this coating on a vehicle that's always outside?
Hi. Oh yeah, its the best form of protection other than Paint Protection Film.
Phil did you apply 2 coats or just one on this van?
Just one layer..
@@MirandaDetailing 😮
Amazing video and product review good friend. Came out awesome.
How much quantity carpro reload is used in average size car per usage?
Hi. That’s the great thing about toppers like Reload. Really it’s a mist per panel. I can’t even calculate how little that is. Maybe a few tablespoons.
I know this vid is a bit older, but Phil or anyone that has used this coating, can I get it on the trim without any issues? I've coated my trim and even the windows with the Armorshield IX coating in the past. I was curious if this was similar as it just makes it so much easier for me. (I do realize they make coatings specific for these areas, I just like the "universal" coatings if you will) I appreciate any input offered!
Hi. Oh yeah. Carpro Cquartz UK3 is super easy to apply and if you get it on the trim it’s no problem at all. If the trim is new you can go right over it and coat it with this. If the trim is older a little faded I will use either carpro DLUX or Gtechniq C4
@@MirandaDetailing I appreciate that info Phil. I'm wanting to try a different coating this next go around (next month). Really like these nono coatings!
Real question is if the owner applied any SiO2 spray during his maintenance washes (eg. Reload)..? I used Reload on my maintenance washes every few months or so and my UK3.0 was beading just like new after 3 years.
Hi. Nope he didn’t. He just washed and dried per usual. Our maintenance details where the only time we applied Reload. 😎👍🏼
@@MirandaDetailing - Wow. That kept up nicely.
Can you blow the car off and then use the topper ?
Yeah you could certainly do that also.
Good stuff👍👍👍
Gotta love it, after a nice wash, it starts sprinkling. Or in most cases, a downpour after you just finished at the car wash while hanging out with your car buds.
Awesome work on the van! By the way, what hose do you used for your pressure washer? I love how it stays straight while you're using it. Mine loves to twist back up for random reasons.
Hi. Thanks! Here is the hose we use. amzn.to/3pIVEyQ
We also use this pressure washer gun that has a swivel quick connects so I can keep the hose straight. amzn.to/35gOt7s
@@MirandaDetailing Very nice! Thanks! Do you use those roller things as well to do an undercarriage wash as well? I was thinking about getting one of those things as well, since the DMV area loves using salt slabs on the roads here. My only issue is, my M3 and S4 sit low to the ground and most things like that will not roll underneath to do a proper undercarriage wash.
Yeah for vehicles that are to low I simply can’t get underneath them to do an underwash. I mean I could attempt to put it on a lift and clean the underside but I don’t get those types of customers anyway.
@@MirandaDetailing strange, here in the DC area of the DMV, we gladly pay the extra $80 - $100 bucks in winter to get the salt washed off. I know it snows down there as well.
You still have those quickjacks right? That should make an undercarriage wash far more feasible than being on your hands and knees and getting tar and salt spray-back in your eyes and hair. 🤣
That’s true….at least we don’t have the salt and nastiness of winter driving down here. I know it’s only a few hours away but we only had one or two days they sprayed the salt solution and it mostly washed away with the rain. We used to live up in VT years ago and had to deal with salt and dirt roads all the time 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome
Video title says two years, in the beginning of the video you say two months and at the end of the video you say one year?????
🤣. That’s my dyslexia 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. The coating had been on there for two years.
Coating looked excellent. Question: did customer have water spots in coating and have scratches and swirls in coating? Hi wife!
Hi. Thanks. Silver is very forgiving and it can be difficult to spot swirls and water spots. But this van doesn’t have any at all. We looked over it really well. 😎👍🏼
@@MirandaDetailing by the way....the slow motion drying with towel, and the saxophone playing in the background, was very exotic. Lol.
☺️
is this not a Toyota ?
It’s a Toyota Sienna minivan
"It stays in a Garage..." Dosent proove anything of the coating abilities in the long run then. - Next video youtube!
Hi. What do you mean?
OK so we're clear...the title says "2 year mark". Then, at one point you say "over a year," which is vague, nor do you ever mention or give evidence for this application. Then you have a graphic that says you put on the product in May 2019 and the video is from July 2019, making it 2 MONTHS, not 2 years. Are you bad at detailing or just videos?
Yeah I know, I misspoke. The original video was in the card in the beginning which was published July 2019 ua-cam.com/video/WwVlHnnvB4M/v-deo.html
This video was published June 2021 So yes two years in....
I have dyslexia and sometimes dates and number get switched around thats all, nothing devious, nothing fake.
You could have kindly asked for me to clarify instead of resorting to insults. Are you ok? Did you mean to insult or was it just poor manners or something else? Whats going on in today's world?
1st
Good morning!
