Bought the International version off an Ebay seller and I'm using it in the USA (Oahu, Hawaii) with Mint Mobile with no issues. It pulled the June 2022 security update. Wifi calling works fine. Default setup language was even United States English, not UK English or one of the release countries languages. This phone convinced me to finally let go of my Moto Z2 Force. Love a thin and light weight phone. Even though its 10 grams heavier than my Moto Z2 Force it "feels" lighter in the hands because the weight is better distributed. I'm really committed to Moto phones because the chop to turn on flashlight feature is something so useful that I can't go without it. Same with the wrist twist to turn on the camera. Once you get used to these features it's hard to go back. Just wish updates were longer. I used my Moto Z2 for longer than was wise without any security updates.
Mine has been in the oven some months and it works flawless now. Even the automatic adaptiveness, which I switched of almost immediately is working great now.

I've just bought it from Currys for £284 to update my Moto G8 power So far it's a massive upgrade to what I'm used to and I'm over the moon with it, I sent the Poco X4 I bought last week back because it was just too different to my Motorola and I've used Motorola phones for over a decade now , I'm getting older I don't like change, android 12 however is different 😂😂 I've never filled a 64gb phone so am not worried about only having 128gb storage available I always put my phones in a flip case aswell so the build isn't an issue or the finger prints on the back The screen is stunning, I've turned vivid down to natural however as I found it too strong, and the sound quality is fantastic compared to previous Motorola stereo speakers I've used , connected to my Sonos no issues aswell 33 watt charging is an upgrade when you've been using 25 watt and seriously how fast do people need to recharge their phones ? My only worry is the reduction in battery size, I'm however not a gamer, I do watch movies on my phones now though and I'm hoping the reduction isn't massive because I don't want to run out of power regularly Best thing about upgrading from the same make is it cloned my previous phone and setup to it with a cable connection 😂😂
Your usage of phone is about the same as mine and I own an old MOTO G7 Plus...I was thinking of a Pixel but after reading your comments sounds like an easy choice thanks.
@@TheKwaze just to let you know, still using it, the phone has had updates since I bought it, phone is working incredibly well, the camera is exceptional and I'm having no issues with the smaller battery, I'm so pleased I bought it You'll hopefully be happy aswell 👍

6 month user here, if you happen to care here is my opinion: Bought it for 300€ during a sale period (even if it's pretty much always on sale), the phone is decently fast, the screen is the best by far in this price range (truly incredible) and the camera it's usable in most areas. In my opinion tho this review missed a crucial point of this phone, it's LIGHT, so light that anyone who tries to hold it is surprised, so light that with a decent cover it weights less than any other phone at this price range without one, Motorola website talk about weight as one of its selling points and they are 100% right, you barely feel it in your pocket, and for someone who uses it in a work environment that's a massive blessing. One of the main drawbacks I think it's the battery, but fast charging takes quick work of refilling your phone fast enough, and honestly, seen how light it is I'm surprised it can last this much. The software side is mostly fixed, not as many bugs as the video says, still not perfect tho. The surprising part it's that it's probably the cleaned android after pixel phones, and that reduces A LOT slowdowns over time. Conclusion? If it's on sale buy it, like, immediately. You'll not regret it.
Wanna ask how's the battery exactly? Like how many times do you need to charge it everyday? Assuming you're using your phone 60-70% of the time throughout the day
@@aminazman9311 its difficult to answer properly, i always have the option to charge it (i work in office). I would say that even a good 30 min at half day (with fast charging) should be plenty to be comfortable with the battery, especially if you dont use it outdoors so you can keep the screen below top brightness

Very good mobile. Its weakness is poor baterry life when on gps. My second phone - realme 7 pro can do 6h rides without killing the battery. Edge is good for 4h gps rides. At gaming its better then average, very smooth for most of the time, cool and not as vampiric on energy.
I have realme 7 pro too but thinking to upgrade to edge 30 as other competitor phones are heavier and bigger than my current phone. What's your experience from switching from RM7pro ? I'm too addicted to that 60w charging so a bit worried there but my phone doesn't give more than 5 and a half hr sot so i think they have almost same battery consumption. And my biggest question - is the selfie better than the crappy selfie on RM?

I think a 6,1 inch screen is the way to go. Not too big but also not to small. I hope they will bring us more practical screen sizes in the near future
Not as "Edgy" as the previous Motorola Edge! 😉 It's funny what can creep in when you set your new phone up. My OH's Motorola once developed horrendous drag and some apps freezing on start up. A careful dissection of what was last loaded on, found that Deezer had caused the problem.

So I got a great deal on this moto edge 30 I am using, my first moto phone ever was the one previous to this moto edge 30 pro, I liked the haptics , performance and charging time, didn't like the weight although built was premium and battery life was okay managing 5.5+ hours sot with 5g , much better than the Xiaomi 12 pro which gave me 4.5 hours but not close to 11r at nearly 7 hours, it was average. This is different for me because I am not buying phones for the chipset but for their built and design, built is not anything to write home about, plasticy back and sides, 6.5 inch with squared off iphonish edges, yeah that's design the last part, alluminium sides and glass back are all the rage now , it's the slimmest 5g phone but doesn't feel like it especially after using the Vivo v27 pro, I really need a phone with metal sides, even that had plastic frame. But at 155gms it's the lightest too , and that feels nice , it's well balanced, and at 6.5 it ain't too small either. Screen is poled , so while the colours are vibrant and the edges really tiny as poled is plastic OLED, I don't think it's same as a super Amoled, fairly bright for outdoor use also. Ram management is surprising good (6/128 model) as it is running a stock Android, the drop down menu reminds me of my pixel 6, so we are getting into performance, it's a mixed bag not as snappy as 8 series chip and ufs 3.1, 3.2 or ufs 4 (haven't tried that), but not as sluggish as a 6 series either, 778+ and ufs 2.2 combination, make the phone fairly usable, I have seen a few glitches in opening the keyboard, not the slickest gaming, although casual is super fun, it's a fairly average phone with rear cameras being that of pro version, does the job , selfie is not great especially when you have greys like me, fairly average, haha I never thought I would say that about my phone when I have been using flagship chips for so long, it's not budgety either, that the extra second will make me feel what the hell m I using, but holding the device I can feel I can it between my index fingers and don't need to support it using my pinky

@@pradyu.1 I did heavy usage since last 1.5 days and it's running good (I have almost 160+ apps in my phone). Yet to try games. I used ICICI credit card and got additional 1500 + 750 as instant discount If you have axis credit card, it seems you can another additional 1000.

Edge 30 and other motorola phone has started showing green pink lines on thousands of phones. Search on Google their forums and UA-cam. I purchased this phone after watching video so thought I'll come and update. If you wish you can make a video about this and maybe motorola will help us like OnePlus is helping affected users.
Anyone that's worried about the limited update support on Motorola can solve it themselves by installing LineageOS ROM, better for security on a foundation level and weekly ROM updates, then surely bi-monthly security patch levels. Motorola Edge 30 has received LineageOS 20 support as well, its Android 13.
Great review, just a word of advice as a lawyer, don't shoot in the public especially women you're a guy you gotta look out for yourself nowadays. I have had clients who got screwed exactly like that even though they didn't do anything, crazy world!

I considered a lot of phones this week even bought a Poco x4 pro and sent it back, it just didn't feel right , I'm just old I think, I've had Motorola for over a decade and just like them they're not special they're just good at what they do and simple My Edge 30 arrived yesterday, was £284 in the Currys sale and so far it's brilliant 🤷♂️
Its having display issues and service guys stated it had moisture content in charging circuit and therefore it cannot be regarded under warranty. Never this had fallen even on dry! many moto device getting green line like the 1 plus issue! other issues- camera quality sucks especially front cam gets stuck & GPS signal issues.

the moto app annoyed me a bit, i thought you could customize the ui accent color to anything as there is a colour wheel but in reality its basically just the main 6 google colours with ever so slightly different tints, you cant select a bright punchy blue or deep red etc
I don't think this is good review. The phone is quite good and is not so easy for not technical people to go into such details like on the video, but also they don't have too. Really feels like current generational thinking is broken to go into such details just to have little bit better color and camera. I don't understand it.
I don't really like the way the current task bar look like on these new motorolas devices (i forget the name, I mean that window that shows up when you drag your finger down). Is there a Way to return it to the previous version? The same of G6, 7, that looked more like "a pure android"?

Nice phone with good hardware but the software is a complete disaster, I was happy with it on Android 12, but when I got Android 13 I returned the phone because of the ridiculous bugs. Factory reset and even official rom reflash with new settings, battery calibration didn't do anything to resolve issues. Motorola/Lenovo are just scammers, I'll never buy their phones again.

Some units have alot issues out of the box. Like SOT is around 4hrs and phone restarts often. Resetting the phone fixed all the issues

Got 12 gb ram version for 399$. Love this phone smooth fast doesn't get hot like Samsung. Motto for life only down side is bad updates with motorola.

Edge 30 and other motorola phone has started showing green pink lines on thousands of phones. Search on Google their forums and UA-cam. I purchased this phone after watching video so thought I'll come and update. If you wish you can make a video about this and maybe motorola will help us like OnePlus is helping affected users.
Anyone that's worried about the limited update support on Motorola can solve it themselves by installing LineageOS ROM, better for security on a foundation level and weekly ROM updates, then surely bi-monthly security patch levels. Motorola Edge 30 has received LineageOS 20 support as well, its Android 13.

Its having display issues and service guys stated it had moisture content in charging circuit and therefore it cannot be regarded under warranty. Never this had fallen even on dry! many moto device getting green line like the 1 plus issue! other issues- camera quality sucks especially front cam gets stuck & GPS signal issues.

the moto app annoyed me a bit, i thought you could customize the ui accent color to anything as there is a colour wheel but in reality its basically just the main 6 google colours with ever so slightly different tints, you cant select a bright punchy blue or deep red etc

I don't think this is good review. The phone is quite good and is not so easy for not technical people to go into such details like on the video, but also they don't have too. Really feels like current generational thinking is broken to go into such details just to have little bit better color and camera. I don't understand it.
I don't really like the way the current task bar look like on these new motorolas devices (i forget the name, I mean that window that shows up when you drag your finger down). Is there a Way to return it to the previous version? The same of G6, 7, that looked more like "a pure android"?
That's the default on stock Android 12 and 13. You can set their colors by either picking through wallpaper or through accent color manually.

If it's doing updates it'll restart automatically, but mine is working fine

Motorola and Updates should not be put together. They are absolutely horrifically slow to fix bugs ask the Moto G30 users !

Nice phone with good hardware but the software is a complete disaster, I was happy with it on Android 12, but when I got Android 13 I returned the phone because of the ridiculous bugs.
Factory reset and even official rom reflash with new settings, battery calibration didn't do anything to resolve issues.
Motorola/Lenovo are just scammers, I'll never buy their phones again.
