This looks like a good phone but honestly, the Razr and Razr Plus look better this year and aren’t much more expensive. At least the Razr isn’t but the Razr Plus is. But both of those are more premium this year and they just stand out more from a design standpoint. I’m not even a huge fan of foldable phones but damn, those Razr phones look sweet this year. And both have the always on display option too. Motorola is still charging way too much for them but they are by far the most interesting devices they’ve made this year.
This phone reminds me of the Galaxy S8. I like it. Very snappy and works great. It hold PPS 25W charging all the way above 90% which I have never seem Samsung phones do. The desktop mode via USB works great too. The only downside is night time video mode is no good but I didn't buy it for that.

I'm using a 25W charger got for cheap. Charges this phone full within half an hour. Very fast. If you are a music lover, this phone is the best sounding I have ever owned. Like holding a grenade of sound in my hand. Overall, I have really been enjoying using this phone. It did feel a little small and delicate when I first got it, but I put a basic case on it, and it gave it a little more heft. Really nice phone, fun to use. Thanks for the post, very good information, I believe this video helped me pick this phone in the first place. Thanks again. Peace

Only two years of OS upgrades is BAD. That sucks, because hardware and specs-wise, this really is a phenonmenal phone, a true flagship. Yet the lack of software support really hamstrings it. I am so tired of Google, Samsung and Apple dominating every phone review, when there are so many other competitors out there that already struggle for publicity and then are also given these artificial restrictions. Screw these monopolies. Give us great phones that we can afford and use for many years again.
In my past experiences with Motorola you will be lucky to get 1 os update. There software support sucks. Main reason I switched to a pixel device. If it wasn't for that I would probably still be using Motorola phones .
@@jevonsims900 Not a fanboy of any phones, but Motorola is not what it used to be since Lenovo bought it. My first cell phone was a Motorola startac, so I've used Motorola for many years.
I bought this phone because I love the curved screen even in 2024 I'm honestly a little tired of the squares and everybody copying Apple. Yes there are other devices but let's be real who's going to buy a one plus or a xiaomi or a Huawei other than like a unbox therapy or a quarter PC or whoever Parker Burton Marquez I just had a OnePlus and to be honest I missed that vanilla stock Android feeling that you get on a pixel but guess what All of the pixel phones I looked at the screen was too small this phone has a huge beautiful screen I have zero complaints
I heard lot of owners complain about the case. As the phone has curving sides, they say the cover doesn't stay on and very easily slips off. What's been your experience?
Nobody copys apple every feature or function apple has ever had has alr been put on any other phone including motterola iPhone wanna drop the same phone every year and overprice
This phone looks awesome but the biggest downside for me is the curved screen. Kind of outdated at this point and not good functionality wise for phantom touches on the screen. I will admit that's a great deal on Metro by T-Mobile for it. But I'd rather get the G stylus 5g 2024 because of the flat screen and I like the general design better. I also don't get the always on display hate BS. Motorolas peek display in my opinion is a much better version of the always on display that is much more useful for interacting with your notifications and texts on the lock screen.
I agree with the curved edge screen being a downside. But I got used to it after never having owned a curved screen phone. Given that, the Edge gets 2 OS upgrades vs 1 with the Stylus. It has an ultrawide camera, 256GB storage vs 128GB, an action button for a custom app or actions, and Motorola Connect for connecting to an external display. The one downside of the curved screen is outweighed by the numerous additions the Edge has over the Stylus.
@@luizsalazar87 I agree with most of that to an extent but you have to also consider the two phones are $150 apart in price too. For those like me on a budget I couldn't afford the Edge unless I got a good carrier deal. One huge reason I'm considering the G stylus 2024 is right now through Straight Talk they are $199. At that price I can overlook the few things it doesn't have.
@@devilkazumi578 I understand some prefer the always on display. For me I think the peek display is better because it's unique and allows you to preview your notifications more in depth from the lock screen.
This is a great phone if you don't want to deal with tensor BS and have a great phone with a decent camera yes you can get the tensor and you will regret the fact that you can't make calls texts are delayed and your phone over heats from the minimum task.
For $500 Dollars you can get the s22 plus and depending where you shop online the s23 for that price. i was just seeing in Motorola website they dropped it down to $300 Dollars at that price point in my opinion is woth getting for the features that it brings

If you like a curved edge screen, then go for it, but the G Stylus is a solid device. I had an edge fusion before the G Stylus which I have now. I recommend it.
I have a moto 5G ace that i love. I think it's about 3 years old. Time for a new one. It's between this and power 5g 2024. Pros fir me on the edge. Gorilla glass screen and waterproof. Saved my current phone more than a few times. Power 5g has neither. Con is that curved screen. Reading reviews on screen protectors it seems they are hard to get on and stay on. Screen protector is a must even with gorilla glass for me. Also the phantom touches which might be fixed by a good case. Otherwise it's the power 5g that is basically similar to my 5g ace without gorilla glass and waterproofing. The razor I've no interest in and the stylus I'm not sure about but I'd probably never use or need the stylus.
None of these are cons for me except the camera, which you didn't review. Thinking of switching to OnePlus or Pixel for a better camera, even though I've always used (and prefer!) Motorolas.
Based on my experience on Samsung S21, I would avoid using fast chargers on any new phones. While nice but fast charging kills battery life pretty fast. In less than 2 years, I was having to recharge my phone 2 times a day even with very moderate use.
Ive had mine about a month now. Overall, performance is good. I dont like that it runs on adreno710. Driver support is trash. I honestly just kind of hate smart phones these days but since I broke my OnePlus 9 pro at work and need something super water resistant for mounting on my commuter ebike, this phone felt good enough for $350CAD unlocked. Will say it sucks it has that leather cause I had to buy a clunky case to stick my Quad Lock mount to.
Moto nerfed peak display. I don't like the current implementation of it. Maybe the edge will get aod at some point because I've seen the new razrs have it.
The downside for me is inability to expand the storage. 😮 It was an impulse buy for me when I seen the 256gb storage & when I googled if it had expandable storage it said yes. I should've stayed with Samsung. Thank God I only paid $299.
The Motorola Edge 2022 and 2023 are getting three years of software updates and four years security updates. Someone messed up the software and security updates on this one.
I am undecided on both. But I am leaning on the stylus as well. But the Edge has that 10x which I wish sometimes I have. I currently have the 2022 Edge, but really liking the Stylus. But something about the Edge 2024 just hmmm? Too many questions.
I don't even care if a phone doesn't have 4 years or 7 years of os and security updates. Most peoples phones don't even last 7 years and most of there phones would of died in the 3rd or 4th year with everyday use maybe even within the 2nd year. It's only tech reviewers and tech geeks who care for multiple os updates and complain when there os needs aren't met. Most people switch out there phone every 1-3 years so 2-3 of os and security patches is plenty imo. Theres nothing exciting about 4 or 7 years of os or security updates because my phone would of died and turn off by then since I use my phone everyday for many hours in a day.
Not to be so against the grain, but actually, tech reviewers really wouldn't care about OS updates because they won't ever use the same phone long enough to take advantage of new software. It is (objectively) a necessary feature for the "average" consumer, who don't upgrade their phone nearly as often. I say this while typing on my Moto G Stylus 2024 ,so in case I come across as 'anti Motorola', I'm not.
Mostly junk review in my opinion. I'm interested in the google needs. I have moto g play and you can't do anything on that phone without "Google needing access" to it. Google doesn't need access to nothing. Tell me about that. Can I take a pic or crop without going back to the beginning of my photo library. Slideshow, can I change the duration? IS it water proof? Or water resistant? My current is supposed to have a great camera, In reality it's junk. You have to take 30 pics just to get 1 that is somewhat blurred, I don't care what the product says it does, Show me!
I think it's fine just get a regular antivirus and you're fine Android is pretty tough anyway it's a very basic phone Even 128 GB is fine for most basic people like I have a 256 and I may be using 30 gigs if that
Am I the only person who uses video calling? My children and I are across the country from each other and video calls are huge for us. The video calls on here are HORRIBLE and it has nothing to do with my wi-fi or location. My older Motorola makes wonderful wi-fi calls that are clear and seamless. This thing breaks up so bad that less than half of the conversation/video is relayed. This is the second one I have as I had hoped the first phone's issues were specific to that device. Nope. Same issue, same model, different device. Sending this one back and likely not even getting another Motorola after this. They were great phones. Thanks Lenovo for ruining them.

I'm not sure why he got that version Carrier versions and moto online versions for U.S is the snapdragon 7s gen 2 which is waaaaaaaaaaay better then the old model....edge 2024 is definitely better I can promise you that I build phones as a IC designer and test phones also blah blah blah but im not sure what version he have
They are 300 bucks in Georgia right now. Just bought my son one today
I have this phone. There is an always on feature. Battery Saver and Sleep settings off.
Does the screen look washed out to anyone else? I adjusted every display setting but it still looks dull ... Besides that the phone is awesome
Update: tmobile is the ONLY carrier ive observed that have this ...(maybe metro but i havent seen it ) amd definitely not any att or vrzn mvnos
It's pretty simple to go by an unlocked version.
I have the moto edge plus 2023 it's a great phone
@@TerrenceWilson-jq3jd okay we don’t want to know that you have a better phone than the rest of us. Go comment this on a video that talks about the moto edge plus 2023.
@@heyabro-p2b lol I'm thinking u are like 12 with nothing else to do but to look for comments to reply to and make problems where there are none. Find you something to do besides be a keyboard warrior
I've had my phone since 2019💀. Just 2 years of updates? 😢
How about there software update?
💔it's Motorola what do you think it is
I got a charger plug but not the box with mine.
I hate how all the big major android phone are making the phone designs like the iphone, I like my curved glass and sharp corners, for small phones iphone design is fine but for big not so much.
make your own phone
Where is the fingerprint sensor?
In the screen
Damn I just got the stylus 2024 wish I asked to see if they had this but the moto stylus is really good too now
@@koreyb really? I love it but I do like the flat screen but the edge has a better SD chip
I love my Stylus 2024...great device
@@anthonylawson518 bro me too! It's better than my old iPhone 13 and my current pixel 7a
I honestly just kind of hate smart phones these days but since I broke my OnePlus 9 pro at work and need something super water resistant for mounting on my commuter ebike, this phone felt good enough for $350CAD unlocked.
Will say it sucks it has that leather cause I had to buy a clunky case to stick my Quad Lock mount to.
LED notification display ?
Plus peek display is Motorola AOD!
Why is that such a downside. Just clean up your storage every once in a while. Don't be lazy.
You didn't even consider nor mention it's eSIM, wireless charging, camera capabilities and the Ready For OS which kicks Samsung's a$$.
But there is “Peak” display. You can see and interact through the “Peek Display“.
Metro Is giving the stylus away for 29.99 and this one is 99
Only if you bring you number
Only if you bring your number with you
On a personal note, competition should NEVER be considered a con. No matter what scenario.
The Motorola Edge 2022 and 2023 are getting three years of software updates and four years security updates. Someone messed up the software and security updates on this one.
I think the phone looks amazing, and I like the phone a lot I own The edge 24
Nic work Motorola
The Motorola G Stylus 5g 2024 is a much better phone. Moto did a dang good job with the stylus. Damn good phone
I am undecided on both. But I am leaning on the stylus as well. But the Edge has that 10x which I wish sometimes I have.
I currently have the 2022 Edge, but really liking the Stylus. But something about the Edge 2024 just hmmm? Too many questions.
What do you even use the stylus for I can’t imagine why you’d want it
I love my Stylus....great phone
better phone l o l Yeah okay
They provide 125 watt charger in Europe inside the box though.
Finally a waterproof moto❤
Got mine from spectrum it came with wire charger
Mostly junk review in my opinion. I'm interested in the google needs. I have moto g play and you can't do anything on that phone without "Google needing access" to it. Google doesn't need access to nothing. Tell me about that. Can I take a pic or crop without going back to the beginning of my photo library. Slideshow, can I change the duration? IS it water proof? Or water resistant? My current is supposed to have a great camera, In reality it's junk. You have to take 30 pics just to get 1 that is somewhat blurred, I don't care what the product says it does, Show me!
Awesome sauce.
Bought at walmart and charger is in the box. My con is i had to download a music player
This phone surpasses the Samsung A55..minus the software updates.
@@DjFrankGee Yes except the A55 GPU is a lot better
$299 at spectrum
Free in certain providers if you switch over or if you open up a new account
You haven't said anything about haptics and speaker quality? I didn't like your review
name a good reason why anyone would need always on display?
Wait three to four month than price will down 350$ than justify the price 😊
The Thinkphone 4:47 was as low as 387.
I own a Motorola Edge 2024. I cannot recommend it due to the low Bluetooth earbuds volume. Spent hours with support to no avail
You just gotta be smarter than the equipment you're operating.
Spent hours with Motorola support
I think it's fine just get a regular antivirus and you're fine Android is pretty tough anyway it's a very basic phone Even 128 GB is fine for most basic people like I have a 256 and I may be using 30 gigs if that
No need for antivirus on a phone it's impossible for Android to get a virus. Apps are sandboxed
Thanks Lenovo for ruining them.
compared to my phone the revvel vt 5g this is great just for 100 more too
Theres literally nothing wrong with this phone. Its really nice runs fast.
Iam Europe and i got a charger
Just got this for 230 its fully unlocked dont have to wait for metro 6 months crappy service
Kinda screams not to get this phone when one of the “pros” is get this phone “free” on metro
Bro what
I thought you had the other Motorola Edge phone the pro or whatever the heck it's called
wonder when moto will release the new android 15 if we even get it lol I hear that moto does like to update their shit
Why is so hard for Motorola to add AOD???? Plus they are removing the Google screening calls feature.....not cool
Does it have a AOD. 😆
Peek display
I just bought this device for my lady, the charger is 59.99
Last year's phone Motorola edge Plus 2023 more storage better processor bigger screen better screen 165 Hertz instead of 144. $399 on Amazon. You'd be a fool to buy the 2024 when the 2023 has everything better even the cameras.
Not me I don't care for always on display
