I thought this WAS the skull kid from Majora's Mask. Even if we kill him as an adult, before the beginning of MM we go back in time so he's alive either way. In a way, it's our fault that he's hooked on masks now.
Also even of we kill him he is back after reloading the area.
Yeah, it is because in mm he mentions learning sarias song in the woods
Oh shit.. OH SHIT. I'VE BEEN PLAYING THESE TWO GAMES FOR SO LONG AND I DIDN'T PUT IT TOGETHER THAT "I'M" AT FAULT FOR HIS MASK OBSESSION 😱
Can I ask how Link results in SKs mask obsession exactly?
@@WhereNothingOnceWas he gives him a mask in oot making he likes mask, that is the idea
At the end of MM, Skull Kid says you "smell like that forest child," heavily implying he's the one we sold the mask to. Especially since he's the same one we teach Saria's Song to.
i always thought he meant Saria.
No it's confirmed in hyrule historia this skull kid, the one and majoras mask, and the one who leaves us to the master sword and twilight princess are all the same skull kid
He's talking about Saria. We don't teach him Saria's Song, she teached it and he plays it in that tree trunk, if we play Saria's Song, he will recognize it and say that we should be friends because we know the song.
@@Mari_IzuThe song echos all around Lost Woods daria didnt teach him The song as ik pretty sure She ONLY taught it to close friends só he was most likely refering to link
@@Findingusernamesishard "as ik pretty sure She ONLY taught it to close friends"
Yes, meaning Saria is Skull Kid's friend. He won't call the song by name if he didn't knew it, and Saria's Song echoes around the correct route, when you're in Skull Kid's "chamber", the song is playing clear.
You can get an orange rupee but there’s still nothing to buy lol.
And when there is, you dont have the adult wallet
Very true 😂 you probably need at max 200 rupees just for all mandatory purchases.
it scared me so much as a kid when skull kid turned hostile
same! i didn't expect to hear any battle music as i got closer to him. i was frantically trying to find whatever enemy was around Link & then realized it was coming from Skull Kid. legit frightened me.
Had to kill him with my borken giant's knife. 😂.
I never tried to do this because it seemed mean: skull kid is friendly to you when you are a child, and only attacks you when you are effectively trespassing as an adult.
Thats how i felt! A morally grey kill for sure. We see Grog underneath him chillin. Maybe he is turning into a Stalfos, maybe the skullkid is guiding him? But peculiar for sure
Even better, they attack adults because adults become Stalfos in the woods instead of Skull Kids. They have a legitimate reason to fear adults in the woods.
Or, if we take Grogs "self harm" as canon, they leave him alone because he is already dying and are creating more Stalfos by killing adults. Army of the dead kinda shi
As with everything else Zelda, they arent consistent enough to give us anything concrete.
This is one of the best money makers in ocarina of time randomizers
Link is being smart. He’s preventing MM in the adult timeline.
luckily young link didn’t kill him otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten a masterpiece of a game in majora’s mask
Wouldn't he have already destroyed Termina by now?
@@kyguy3242 Ganondorf destroys and enslaves Hyrule so either the happy mask salesman has fled or died meaning skull kid will never get the opportunity to steal the mask in the adult timeline
Technically the events of Majora happen 7 years prior to when we arrive in the adult timeline so it still happens
but he also helps TP Link in return for the events of MM
we ''kill'' him in tp but he just come back to life, so skull kid maby just is imortal
Skull Kids dont like adults because when adults get lost in the woods, they become Stalfos.
I remember as a kid I thought the Skull Kid was the one who injured Grogg, which is why Grogg is sitting by skull kids stump like that. I know the common theory was Grogg tried to kill himself with the Poacher Saw, but I never saw anything to back it up.
That's a theory? I always assumed he was a child at heart or that he was friends with who became Skull Kid and that's why he wasn't attacked.
I mean, Skullkid is set to just not spawn when he's around, like he just does not want to disturb the guy.
(Note: There is a glitch where Skullkid has a seemingly random chance to accidentially spawn anyways)
@@lpfan4491 most likely if Skull Kid isn't meant to spawn, story wise it would be related to him being afraid of adults and waiting for Grog to leave.
@@whitelasagna6786 it's a very common theory, Grogs whole character is based around being sad and down, a common theory I've seen/read was Grog unable to find peace tried to kill himself in the lost woods, and that he stole his father's Poacher Saw to finish the job.
@@marcanthonybattenberg7636 Afraid? Him shooting the totally armed Link on sight does not feel like it.
It's much easier killing him with the Biggoron's Sword if you lock on and repeatedly stabbed him, the long length and quick attacks finishes him off in seconds
That's clearly an orange rupee
Giant rupee*
Thank you. We always called it the orange rupee. Because it's orange.
Some of the low-poly rupees are weirdly colored compared to their "fancy" countetparts you see in chests. It's a giant rupee
I always wondered why the skull kid never had a problem with Grog just chilling, he clearly isn't a child.
They're both outcasts I guess
Skullkid: hold on pow! This wasn't in the contract pow! Link: shut up! I came from the future and I know everything that will happen to me! Now take this!
Biggoron sword makes this easier
Played oot many many times, never knew you could do that 😅
Just when you think you have seen it all link straight up massacres a skull kid
I did. And purposely at times for easy rupees
I’d make a joke about skull kid being dead and majoras mask not startin, but this encounter is kinda sad. It’s a kid who randomly walked into the forest and became a skull kid. Maybe he doesn’t want to fight you, but the curse of being a skull kid makes you hate adults more, and since he’s a kid that can’t control his emotions, they’d fall to it. Lost woods is pretty creepy place.
“He’s a kid that can’t don’t his emotion”
Truly wise words
Too bad that Majoras Mask happens before Adult Link kann kill Skull kid
Do not the adult
If we go by the Hyrule Historia timelines, Majora's Mask plays on the timeline where Link goes back in time after the events of OoT, preventing them from happening in the first place and then going on a search for Navi, who leaves at the end of OoT.
As Link travels back in time before the events of OoT ever happened, the stuff happening as Adult Link doesn't happen anymore, thus killing Skull Kid as an adult would not matter.
Rather that or he hates how his life was cut short in his human form and resents adults that have lived a great deal of their lives and being able to wander out of the forrest since i dont recollect ever hearing any information if skull kids can leave the forrest
I didn’t know you could actually kill them, they always backflipped away when I got too close. 😆
Adult link Really portrays life of growing up, and the realism of how dark the world really is
EXACTLY!
that skull kid is exactly the one of majoras mask
Nah.
SK in MM has a backstory of befriending the 4 giants. He meets Tatl and Tael in Termina. Its pretty clear he is just doing his own thing and is not from the Lost Woods. Whatever part of the forest that connects Hyrule to Termina is not the Lost Woods.
Smelling like a forest kid is a lot different from "hey, remember me? You taught me this song with THAT ocarina and everything."
@@fenixchief7so how does the skull kid in MM know about Sarias song??
@@fenixchief7 They confirmed in Hyrule Historia that they are the same Skull Kid
@@fenixchief7Where are those woods, if not nearby the lost woods? It's still on the Hyrule side anyway. The Happy Mask Salesman travels through both worlds so why not the Skullkid?
I never knew you could kill Skull kid in OoT! I always tried shooting him with and arrow lol
Its the same skull kid from majors mask u would no this if u actually beet the game the skull kid will say link reminds him of a kid that taught him a song in the woods in ocarina of time its a mission to play a song for the skull kid in the lost woods
For a gold rupee, that's a lot of orange.
Poor lil guy, I used to farm him when I needed rupees lol
I always just went to the past and blew of some steam in the store room, much more fun if slowly, but also a safer, more reliable farm of rupee.
Anakin, no!!
Using the biggoron sword makes it easier to delete him if that’s really what you want to do.
I always thought that was the same skullkid from mm
It might be. All kids that get lost in the woods become skull kids tho so it’s hard to tell.
It is
It is 100%.
I did find him back in the day. But had no idea you could kill him.
Use megatom hammer in the end 😈 I really hate that guy.
Isn’t this the skullkid that helps you in twilight princess
Yes and the SK who donned Majora's Mask
This is why skull kid arcs are needed by people like RwanLink and others. ❤
Wait, when does this happen? I'm pretty sure I've completed TP, but I don't remember this
@@Godongo he helps you get the master sword in the lost woods
@@TerraCrisis Oh. I somehow forgot that part, but I remembered solving the difficult puzzle to get it 😅 Thank you for letting me know! 😄
If children become skull kids, and adults become Stalfos, then how is Link capable of living in the lost woods? They never said anything about Link being special beyond being the hero, it isnt like the Deku Tree can bestow any kind of power keeping Link safe. Unless its all about having a fairy, but then you could argue Link only had Navi for a short time before he had to leave.
I assume the fairy protects when going in there and we don’t know if he ever entered lost woods before the events in OOT. But also he never got lost or stayed long to begin with which may count as well
Because Link can navigate the woods without getting lost.
@@BatAtVideoGamesVods the fairy theory makes more sense, especially since the Deku Tree tells Navi to guide Link.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio Link was technically lost in the forest. The only thing he knew was the village. His mother brought him there to hide from the civil war. Link wasn't allowed to leave the forest without a fairy or sword, probably because he would either get lost, or get attacked.
I think it's because Link is a Hylian, so it doesn't apply to him, only to Kokiri natives. This is also why Link was not assigned a fairy at birth.
"He doesnt like adults"
Grog:
The stab combo with the Biggoron Sword will catch and kill him every time.
his long death animation is worth it... It gives a HUGE rupee..!
:})
Never saw the man there together with the Skull Kid before.
Think you have to progress his quest.
@@fenixchief7 I always got Cojiro by the time I got around to entering the Lost Woods with the Master Sword.
That’s drake playing a flute
The best way to get money in the game.
Jokes aside that is the same Skull Kid that appears in Majora's Mask.
played oot a bunch. those giant orange rupees being so rare almost felt like it was a glitch u weren’t supposed to uncover. why would they make it so hard to kill skull kid, and then give him that xtra long death animation and then the giant orange rupee? the entire thing felt like a total anomaly , wonder why they did it
Fun fact that is the skull kid from majoras mask look it up
This guy didn't listen the lesson in MM 💀
Luv this
It has the same value as a gold rupee, but the giant rupee Skull Kid drops is orange ☝🤓
It's the same skullkid from majoras mask
It would only save three days
Goes back in time to assassinate skullkid “nothin personal, kid”
I remember freaking out when he came down and was firing the blow dart 😂 i was like yo, i thought we were cool?!? Then i killed him
I mean, even if we prevented mayoras mask we would only save three days
Nah, he's a homie. I don't kill my homies for money
I never knew you could kill him and that rupee is just magnificent.
“if you kill skull kid in Ocarina of time, you get a massive golden rupee” sounds like one of those playground rumors like L is real
Kid from the graveyard also becomes a skullkid during the time skip according to Miyamoto.
It is that skull kid
He also is easier to handle with the goron sword
actually so awesome
Thats the orangest gold rupee ever
You can't sort out the skull kid from MM as an adult in OoT.
The events in MM happen 5 or 6 years *before* the events of OoT (as an Adult)
Well, since he was wearing the mask, I think it's possible that he somehow survived. Or it could be possible that Ganon's curse somehow prevented him from leaving to Termina?
It's a shame that he doesn't remember you selling him the mask and act like a friendly NPC with something to offer you.
I never knew that. Hats off sir!
That IS the MM Skulk Kid lmao
I seem to remember the biggoron sword making quick work of him
I'd like to propose the idea that Majora's mask would have possessed someone eventually in Termina. If it wasnt Skull Kid, it could be that thief or even the Gorman brothers.
That was skill kid from Majora's mask but we kill him in an alternate timeline so technically he's alive either way in MM
This time there was nothing stressful to watch for me. You had a lot of great ideas. Some of them worked. Some didn’t. All were good. You learned to roll. You got Epona. You got gold tokens and heart pieces and upgraded. There were clues about bombing the goron, but nothing obvious. You’re playing VERY well for your first time.
This IS the same Skull Kid though.
"!!!
...It's that boy from the forest...
Well, not that it should matter anyways."
Link! You’ve created a TIME PARADOX
How so?
I suppose he doesn’t likes adults except the dude sleeping next to him? 🤔
Rhat guy was gonna turn into a Stalfos in like 3 minutes anyway
He isn't supposed to spawn while the guy is there.
@@mystrenula3911them transforming into Stalfos is the exact reason why they don't like adults
It's the best way to get money. It's worth 200 rupees and it's easiest with the Biggoron sword
Is this not the skull kid wjo steals majoras mask?
It is, but since this is in the future when he's an adult it has no affect at the end of the game when link goes back in time, leading to the same events happening.
@@lagrush9039 oh ye
but that brings the question. Did majora's mask still happen and termina get destroyed in the adult timeline? Maybe majora got rid of skull kid and he came back to hyrule? Because link doesnt get involved until he goes to termina because skull kid already has the mask.
@@mahdiali872 As we see Skull Kid in his spot in Lost still wearing the mask you sold when you was a kid, I just assume he never went to Termina.
Imagine killing Skullkid in MM and all you get is a huge rupee...
MM Skullkid actually is this Skullkid
As he says "you're my Friend from the forest"
The bigoron sword is very useful when defeating him
I remember getting a Nintendo power VHS in the mail that had this hint
Killing him splits the timeline again. This explains alternative timelines In the Zelda timeline
*The following are the musings of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!*
[EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] "Best way to defeat Skull Kid as an adult is the Biggoron Sword as its longer reach and high damage can kill him quickly allowing Link to obtain an ORANGE RUPEE which is the highest value rupee in the game! You can do this repeatedly by leaving the Lost Woods! The Skull Kid is heavily implied to be the Adult Timeline counterpart to the Skull Kid from Majora's Mask (who exists in the Child Timeline and is suggested in MM to be the same Skull Kid who bought the Skull Mask, so technically the Hero of Time may have prevented Majora's Mask in the Adult Timeline Termina provided there is an alternate timeline Termina in the Adult Timeline)!"
@@RaphBlade7 here is a 🪱 worm Mr seagull
This comment is as young as it could be and yet this knowledge is late as it could to me as a OOT fan.
It's the same Skull kid from Majora's Mask dude...
Wow. And I thought I knew all the little details in this game.
I thought this common knowledge. I just attack anything I can in Zelda games 😹😹😹
One of, if not the most powerful field enemy in the game. He is indeed worth to 100 rupees
*200 rupees, also he's pretty easy if you use the biggoron sword and don't lock on
Poor skull kid 😢
I just watched a first time blind playthrough player do this lol. And I’m 90% sure I did it on one of my playthroughs years ago
Hahaha nice!
Nice. Wallets full tho.
It's the same skull kid in Ocarina of time and majora's mask he even said that you remind him of the fairy boy from the woods
Petition:
Start a "Ocarina of time AND Majora's Mask speedrun" where it's just how fast you can beat OOT AND kill skull kid, thereby preventing MM, thus speedruning it before it starts.
That would explain why skull kid doesn't appear in the adult timeline 🤔
MM music on an OoT video?
Thats apparently supposed to be the same skull kid as in Majora's Mask, since he's familiar with you in the intro and that's the only one we ever interact with
Ah yes... The tackled kid returns...
He catches on fire 💀
A lot of Zelda 64 monsters do this when killed.
He hates us but he won’t attack Cojiro🤷🏿♂️
If you consider inflation, how much would that Rupee be worth by Twilight Princess when he next shows up?
Wait. I just realized that Termina would be destroyed when Link is an adult then, right? So Skull Kid somehow survived and came back? Maybe Happy Mask Salesman has something to do with his hatred for adults.
Well.... Adult Link killed Majora Timeline😂😂😂😂
Even as a kid, i always find the skull kids fights to be.... unfinished. Like, it's not polished. less sound effects and just kind seems "placeholder-ish".
With the giant sword it is super easy to get him
WAIT, YOU CAN FUCKING FIGHT HIM?!?!?!!? I NEVER KNEW!!!
I mean according to the hyrule historia Skull Kids are just children who got lost in the lost woods so potentially there could be different ones between the games
100% i think there are hundreds if not 1,000s of them with near immortal life spans
It's easier to take it out if you DON'T lock on to him. He's much less prone to evade. The biggoron sword is the better weapon to use on him too.
I always thought it was a Huge Orange Rupee because the gold rupee is smaller and looks different.Even though there worth the same amount.
Yeah, it's a big orange Rupee, it just have the same value as the Gold Rupee. Takkiri in Majora's Mask will also drop a huge orange rupee (still worth 200 rupees)
I thought that was an orange rupee
Technically that is Skull Kid from Majora's Mask
Who else read the title as "killing skibidi"?
