    I am in shock your Dr allowed you to have any food straight after your op. Not surprised you were vomiting. Sorry you went through that. The reason you are on liquids for at least 10 days is so your stomach heals along the suture line and the inflammation can reduce. Any undue stress like food and vomiting is not good. Plus eggs are not a good idea for at least 2 weeks. Even with liquids you need to sip sip sip and go slow. I know you are well past this stage. Just glad you shared this even if others can comment for the benefit of others. Much love.

    Hi Nicole! Congratulations on taking this step towards better health. I just watched your video about your 1 week postop. I hope you heal quickly! I am 4 weeks postop and never experienced any of your symptoms. I was given pureed food in the hospital and full size pills and never had an issue ingesting them. I hope you're able to start consuming soon. Keep hydrated and try the best you can to get your Protein In.

      @@nicoleislosingit my main concern is qualifying for the surgery. I’m roughly carrying around 70 additional pounds, I’m 5’10 223 lbs & counting. I’ve done everything I can think of, my last diet stint was Carnivore+OMAD+Intermittent Fasting. I’ve gained 23 of the 33 lbs back & I’m literally at bottom.

    Hello there, wow your journey sounded so rough 😢
    I am 9 days post operative of gastric bypass. I am on mushy foods, i have no soreness at all, no feeling of 'omg the tigjtness!' I was worried i had broken my pouch 😂 the dietitian advised that due to the surgery being by robot the healing is alot better.
    Feel very fortunate to be this side, this morning for breakfadt was a tablespoon of roasted sweet potato, tablespoom of homemade guacamole and a poached egg. Only managed to half. Had the other half for lunch.

    I’m also feeling all these feelings. Regret, exhaustion, weak, utterly unable to even stand up without support. I’m post op day 8. Whilst I’ve not had the nausea aspect (I completely understand it as I had hyperemesis gravidarum with all 4 of my pregnancies). Drinking is so hard for me, eating is hard for me. Plus I’ve had to have a tooth pulled out 3 days ago and yesterday I woke with extreme kidney pain which was a severe uti. I slept almost 24 hrs straight. Spent all day in bed today. I feel so bad as my husband is doing EVERYTHING which is hard going.

    Oof, That's a tough week. I'm sure once you get past this stage, you'll feel better. It can sometimes be hard to see past what is happening right now, especially when you have emotions and physical issues happening at the same time. Congrats on meeting protein goals.

    Interesting. I got my sleeve on Monday October 9th and was in hospital until Thursday because of a low heart rate in the 39-upper 40s range. But they sent me home since i was asymptotic, able to walk, bathe, eat fine. But I'm on full liquid diet for minimum 2 weeks.

    • @nicoleislosingit
      @nicoleislosingit  10 місяців тому

      Nope. I followed my surgeon’s recommendations to the letter. He says to start purées on day 1 following surgery. They gave me a puréed egg and yogurt in the hospital the morning following surgery and my surgeon watched me eat it. But if your surgeon says clears for 1-2 weeks, you should definitely follow that. It’s funny just how different programs can be!

    May I ask: besides liquid otc tylenol, what other prescriptions did they send you home with?

    • @nicoleislosingit
      @nicoleislosingit  Рік тому

      They actually sent me home with Tylenol in pill form - liquid would have been so much easier! They also sent me home with pantoprazole (later had to move up to omeprazole), a stool softener, liquid Lyrica for pain, zofran, and then my allergy pill that I have taken for years.

    • @qq1651
      @qq1651 Рік тому

      @@nicoleislosingit Did the Lyrica take away your pain?? One of my biggest fears is the out of hospital post op pain. My program doesnt give any narcotic pain meds to go home with. Only regular tylenol. ugh

    • @nicoleislosingit
      @nicoleislosingit  10 місяців тому +1

      I'm addicted to my collagen water now, so I'm glad my doc is ok with it. My nutritionist doesn't want me to rely on it for protein - he wants all of my protein to come from real food.

    • @joannes7275
      @joannes7275 4 місяці тому

      My nutritionist explained that collagen isn’t a complete protein. It doesn’t contain all of the amino acids that our bodies need. It’s fine to have collagen, but don’t count it in your daily protein intake.
