My Casio Duro's have replaced all my multi hundred dollar divers. In fact I just sold my Gen 1 Monster black face for a tidy profit, because it wasn't ever worn. At the same time I added a blue face Duro to my collection. I love these watches. I walked away from the "more expensive is better" mind set years ago. While I won't argue that a multi hundred dollar watch is or isn't better, I also have other things in life to spend money on. IMO, the Casio Duro does everything I will ever need it to do. All at a level of performance, comfort and fit/finish that are far above the asking price.
Nice review Sam. Thank you for corroborating my decision to buy my son a Duro as his first watch for Christmas. I fear it may be a little big on him, but the combination of a quality look and an inexpensive price were a win-win for me.
I have this watch and put it on a metal mesh. Looks fantastic! Can easily be worn with office casual/simi-casual wear. Also own the blue version. Simply gorgeous!
Do I like it? Heck yes. Aside from slightly too smooth serrations on the bezel, I love it. Got all 3: Black, Blue and Gold. Blue has a lovely sunburst finish and applied indices. Upgraded with a steel bracelet on the Black, Blue Silicon waffle from BluShark on the Blue and oiled leather on the Gold. These watches punch above their weight.
I hadn't seen or read any reviews about this watch and I'm only watching now because having searched out the best price for the same black\gold colourway, mine arrived in the UK from Israel this morning. This is a beautifully well made watch. I love the brushed steel on the top casing. I quite like the resin strap and as you say, the potential is there to change it to anything you please. I also noticed the lining up of the bezel but what the heck, at the price I paid I'm not complaining. You won't find a better dive watch at that price. My favourite too is a Citizen eco-drive dive watch in blue, that I have which is about six times the price but both have their aesthetic merits. I love both. Whoever buys the Marlins/Duro will not be disappointed. Casio are all things to all men, and women too. Not quite as far reaching in quality as Seiko, but quality, function and form nonetheless. Even a touch of bling on the MTPs. I'm becoming addicted. It's an awesome watch.
I have daily worn a Yema Seaspider kinetic since 2003. I just wanted a change, so I returned the Yema to its original box for some rest. I purchased the Stuhrling Depthmaster quartz and the Casio Duro. They both are very nice for under $60.
Clearly better in every horological way than the Rolex Submariner. This is a widely accepted and proven fact among watch experts and certified horologists.
I cut off the excess silicone on the bracelet, filed a little with a diamond file so that there are no sharp edges. Now it no longer sticks out and looks decent. Personally, I think the original bracelet is great, it's just a little too long and has that unnecessary overhang. I am also waiting for the sapphire glass to arrive so I can install it. Duro is a really great watch that can be used in all occasions, very universal for little money
I have the new Duro MDV 107 without the Marlin. I think it is truly captures the essentials of the watch. Clear dial without any Marlin logo, they also improved the watch by give the applied indices in the dial which we can't see in the Marlin. Both of them are cool, Marlin is iconic, MDV-107 capturing the essentials of this type. But I need to replace my strap to a tropical rubber strap, it's totally a perfect beater watch now.
Sam. I just picked up the blue version (not easy to get in the UK). It's a very good buy at £60! The blue dial is really pretty, better than I imagined. Yesterday I put it in a blue Seiko Turtle silicon band and it looks and feels terrific. It's become my work watch because it matches my uniform and it won't be the end of the world if it gets best up.
Yes I think thats the value prop here. The dial is better than you would expect, I totally agree with you there.. And clearly Casio have this quality at scale thing mastered... even more than Seiko I would say.
Yet another great video! I've been looking at the blue dial Marlin for quite some time now. Haven't pulled the trigger as it is just a shade too large for my wrist.
I have a 7-1/2" wrist, so I just ordered this same Gold Duro from Amazon, yesterday. when the price dropped to $40 USD (I should get it, next week) I'll probably change to a NATO strap. I wear a 40mm field watch now, with a simple canvas pass through band. It looks just a little small on my wrist. (like a 38)
I have this same Casio Duro with a Bond Nato strap and I recently did my first ever mod on a watch and swapped the mineral crystal for a double domed sapphire crystal with blue AR coating and it completely elevates the appearance of the watch. I’m awaiting the delivery of a Pepsi bezel Duro and I’ve already got another double domed sapphire crystal to put on it.
@@CasualWatchReviews I will think about it but there are two excellent videos on UA-cam about modding a Casio Duro, one is with Jody at “Just One More Watch” and the other is with Dan at “Watch Me With Watches”.
Got the same watch wasn't sure how I'd like the two tone but I do . Also I got another similar watch in price the Tommy Bahama tell you what the bezel action was about perfect with no back play and some really different and cool hour markers I'd like to know what your opinion is and maybe get one on the channel .
Yes its not over done the gold here. Do you know who sells the Tommy Bahamas one, there is a store near me I think in the local mall and at Laguna Beach
I've gotten most of my watches from ebay. And thought the Tommy would feel or look cheap no I'm wearing it now. The bezel action is what really surprised me nice smooth 120 clicks no back play and maybe under 50 it's the hour markers that are so unique and lume is alittle better than the Casio.
For the price, it’s a great value. Plus it’s a Casio, so you are getting an excellent but simple quartz movement and good build quality. Personally, unless the price is an issue I would go for the Citizen Promaster Diver. You are getting a solar movement and an ISO rating, which the Casio does not have. That is just me. Strap choice is really a personal preference thing. If you individual likes how the strap looks of finds it comfortable that is all that matters. Really does not matter if others thing it looks wrong.
I really prefer a solar watch, especially on a high water resistant watch. Breaching the seals every couple of years is risky, and mailing it off to have it done by is a hassle, especially when you own several.
Great video 📹 👍, ironic that you did this review about an affordable watch dressed in an equally affordable T-shirt 🤣 (USD2/pcs) can get from my local shop.
I really love my duro's but I doubt I would get the gold tone one. The black and blue ones look what they are meant to be but I think the gold one is trying to be something it should not be. But that’s just my opinion.
I’m glad I saw this here. It’s difficult, nigh impossible, to make an authentic looking “gold tone” watch. I have the black Duro, and I put it on this leather nato that has accrued a nice patina. The aluminum bezel has acquired some scratches, and the watch looks very rugged now. It’s a better aesthetic than the faux gold look in my opinion.
Dude it's not just a hit, it's a home run. I have a plain black Duro. Wish it was a gold one. To note - yeah the bezel on mine does not feel or sound so good. But I'd say the bezel quality is what you'd expect with price. it is about the same quality as a Pagani which costs twice as much or even more. I also have that same Citizen BNO also in blue, and it is FAR superior to the Duro. Both are great watches for the money
A great value for sure. It is a bit too large for me but the lug width may make it ok. I am waiting for someone to buy me that Patek though. Hasn’t happened yet. 😕
Yep, once you feel the bezel action of a Christopher ward or Rolex! You cant ever go back! It changes you for all bezels to come 😂. Thanks for watching Vincent!
Once you put it on you see that it doesn't wear as big as you would assume. I wouldn't want it any smaller. Casio has sold a sh*t ton of these. They won't make a smaller size. It is legend.

I was impressed about the quality for sure!

Hey Mike! Yep I think this would be a great gift.
I have this watch and put it on a metal mesh. Looks fantastic! Can easily be worn with office casual/simi-casual wear. Also own the blue version. Simply gorgeous!
Did you put the gold duro on a gold or silver mesh bracelet?
Do I like it? Heck yes. Aside from slightly too smooth serrations on the bezel, I love it.
Got all 3: Black, Blue and Gold.
Blue has a lovely sunburst finish and applied indices.
Upgraded with a steel bracelet on the Black, Blue Silicon waffle from BluShark on the Blue and oiled leather on the Gold. These watches punch above their weight.
Yep totally agree!!

Wow, well you should make a video with that as the hypothesis... I wouldn't dare 😂
@@CasualWatchReviewsyou wouldnt dare because you are a phony and brainwashed groupthinker.

I have the Pepsi Marlin (sporty) and the gold Marlin (classy). I’m ordering jubilee bracelets. I could not be happier.
Yet another great video! I've been looking at the blue dial Marlin for quite some time now. Haven't pulled the trigger as it is just a shade too large for my wrist.
Yep I see that as the only Negative people find with this watch. It is big, no question

I have not seen any one mod a duro yet. If you use Facebook join the group and post a picture. I bet the members would love to see it!

I just bought this on Amazon but I don't know if it's the 44 mm or the 38 mm. I hope it's the 44mm 😫
Great little (big) watch, and the blue dial really is amazing as well
Agreed!
I’ve had my Duro for almost a year now and it’s a great watch. It looks awesome on a NATO strap. The 2021 revised Duro will not have the Marlin...☹️
By a replacement now before the fishy is gone.
My Classic black Duro is on its way from Amazon US to India..
Great review cheers
Thank you! Cheers!

yep agreed actually,
Great watch that is a strap monster
Great video 📹 👍, ironic that you did this review about an affordable watch dressed in an equally affordable T-shirt 🤣 (USD2/pcs) can get from my local shop.
Yep that t-shirt was from Target! I spend much more time thinking about watches than my clothes 😂
Why dont casio just up the game by offering better lume and sapphire. Am certain still alot of buyers will pick it up.
Yep it would be a good enhancement!
I really love my duro's but I doubt I would get the gold tone one. The black and blue ones look what they are meant to be but I think the gold one is trying to be something it should not be. But that’s just my opinion.

Mi blue duro's bezel is spot on
I gave it a US$200 crocodile strap. If I had to picky, wish it was 40mm, with more visible date.

In 99.9% of the cases I would say buy a casio over a Pagani 😂, big fan of Citizen also!
I've got the Blue 🌊 version great watch for $55 out the door !
Yep its a good deal this watch!
What is the orange strap called?
Its and isofrane one
i love my casio duro`s i have the black and blue versions good value for the cash.... strap is not good , cheers
Agreed Craig!
A great value for sure. It is a bit too large for me but the lug width may make it ok. I am waiting for someone to buy me that Patek though. Hasn’t happened yet. 😕
Yep sadly i didnt get to keep that one... its the price of a new Bronco so that would be a tough choice!
What percentage of people actually go diving in a 5,000 dive watch? This is a perfect watch for the guy diving to work 9-5.
Just the people filming watch ads 😂
Great Video..
Well done! You have pushed me over the edge into getting one in the new year!! Love the look of the Landrover NATO on your Breitling..
Hye Chris, Yep actually its on a wolbrook, great strap. The breitling is 22mm so I may need to buy another Landrover strap!
@@CasualWatchReviews on a wolbrook? Pics of it on FB page please..
@@ChrisWilletts will do it now over on facebook.com/groups/CasualWatchTalk/
Et en France combien ?😢
It's a little too blingy for me!
the Casio Duro is to large for my wrist :(
Still better than an invicta
Its a great watch for the money thats for sure
No it's not better than my ,1953 I bought for the same price with an NH 95 in it's no way?
Decent beater.
I bought this watch I also bought an Invicta 1953 for 60 dollars! The Invivcta is SO much better than the Casio!
Watch guys and bezel movement is a weird love affair. Me:. Who cares. I'm just a newbie tho
Yep, once you feel the bezel action of a Christopher ward or Rolex! You cant ever go back! It changes you for all bezels to come
😂. Thanks for watching Vincent!
I have never even turned a bezel on my watches. For all I know they don’t even turn so I don’t care about bezel movement 😂
Indices are pressed.
they are... wow they really look applied to me! That may be even more impressive on casio's part then!
Duro is nice. But it's too big. Would be an absolute home run @ 39 or 40mm.
Once you put it on you see that it doesn't wear as big as you would assume. I wouldn't want it any smaller. Casio has sold a sh*t ton of these. They won't make a smaller size. It is legend.
Also, Bill Gates wears one.
Someone mentioned that to me after I posted the review. That would have been a great fact to include!
Looks cheap but it is 50 bucks after all.
