I need to remove one expansion bolt from the Transmission Mount, since I want to replace that mount. In the car 2003 Chevy Cavalier, the Transmission Mount is attached to the subframe with 3-4 usual bolts and one expansion bolt, which is located at the center of the mount. No films about that process in details, but I saw one film where the author broke that expansion bolt on Chevy Transmission Mount. Please could you tell if the procedure of the removal of the expansion bolt on a car would be the same, as in this film? Do I also need those special tools to remove it? I have a Shop Manual for that car, and on the replacement of the Transmission Mount they don't say about any special tools, just say: Remove the Expansion Bolt, then remove other bolts. I would appreciate any opinion on this matter. Thank you for your film again.
@@itsjustatune It is there, and it is very unique and strange bolt. Everyone is afraid of it since it is discontinued and unknown what to do if you brake it. I'm curious how wide that type of bolt is used in automotive industry? Or it is only present on 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier? usually those expansion bolts are for constructions.
@olenaerhardt7725 I had mine out a couple times and never saw a strange bolt. If you want you can send me a picture over on my Instagram and I could try to help you. My Instagram is @therealcobaltchris2
we are doing a manual swap but we cannot figure out where the manual transmission mounts go on the auto car, could you some how send me pictures of your or post a vidoe of where they go so we can go off that??
Could you tell where to attach the hoist chain on the Driver side. I see the special bracket w/hole on the passenger side of the engine, where I can attach the chain hook, but can't figure out how to attach the hoist on the Driver side, no bracket there. The car is 2003 Chevy Cavalier w/automatic transmission. Thank you for the great film. Update: It is on the left (DS) rear corner of the engine, kind of on the diagonal fm/the front bracket. There were 2 holes to attach it to. I understood that my rear bracket was stolen at some dealer place, but I bought another one on ebay and attached it there.
@@itsjustatune That's fine, thank you for the concern. I found out already that there should be a special bracket on the DS, but it was stolen at one dealer (presumably), since they were working in that area on Ignition system like 3-4 years ago. I bought 2 brackets for any chance, if another theft go unnoticed (I'll be checking the Engine Bay fm now on of course after visiting suspicious places). Thank you again, really appreciate it.
@itsjustatune oh man sorry to here.. yeah the engines are pretty sweet for boost, the frame is light and the crash tests were bad, I had one for like 9 years, very good mpg
The transmission won't be an issue because a manual transmission doesn't need any controller. It will depend on the engine. Only a few of the Saturn Vues are tuneable. 2007 - 2010 with the 2.4 engine & 2009 with the 3.5. Other than that you'll have to go standalone ECU. If someone can tune them let me know.
@@itsjustatune yeah I've researched it to the point of the park neutral switch and programming the doner body control module .at that point you may need to go to the dealership and reflash for speed control and hall effects issues
Can yall ease let me know ow I'm coming from automatic transmission what all I need I'm having a manual ion for sale cheap and it's loaded with goodies
What is the mount or bracket called that holds the transmission shaft and engine together don't know if it's a bracket or mount can't find any where
I'm not sure exactly what you mean but the engine and transmission bolt together
Bell housing maybe?

I'm sorry for the late response but i honestly couldn't tell you. I don't have a cavalier where I'm at right now so I can't really go check and see

Hey man, what did you figure out with the shifter not letting it go into certain gears? I’m running into that same problem.
It was a long time ago and I can't remember what happened but I believe it was worn out gears
Yoo plan to do a roll cage. These things are nasty in wrecks
Car is long gone because of a wildfire but I agree if it was a racecar.

Where do you find the mount for the front of the transmission for thr manual
Pretty much anywhere online. Lots of them on ebay. Hope this helps
Wat muffler u using I like to know thank u
I honestly don't remember what was on the car but there wasn't any muffler. That car got totaled because of a wildfire and now he has an srt4.
What trasmission is this??
Getrag F23 stock manual transmission with a stage 3 clutch for about $160
So im manual swapping myself and am trying to get the transmission on the engine and it’s a pain is it better with two people?
It's definitely easier. I've always had someone who could keep the engine from moving while I got the transmission attached
It is unnecessary to remove the engine. Read Chilton's manual
I've always found it easier this way even if it's technically the wrong way
Cuanto cuesta un cavalier 2000s en su país
