I have a 96 Cav coupe body transplanted onto a C5 Corvette frame, complete with drive train, suspension and everything else. Had to move body 6” back to make the door opening fit the frame. Now working on fender flares and various weatherproofing panels.

Fukkin awesome, this is what I want to do to a 99 . I've had a v8 swapped s10 and would love to LS swap a mini me (mini camaro) I've seen a v8 swap 05 at a car show but she was kept fwd and I'd prefer your rwd set up. I love Cavi's but I've kept all mine stock under the hood,I've always liked v8 swapped 1st and 2nd Gen s10s and ASTRO vans as that's what my dad did. Although I've watched v8 cavis at nhra events in pro stock and other classes I had never thought about building one to drive but I'm 5.3 LS swapping my 06 rt magnum wagon

I'm thinking about doing a similar swap on my sunfire, what transmission and rear axel did you use? And what did you do about suspension in the rear?
Gm t5, ford 8.8/ custom irs suspension and cv axle conversion for the 8.8. it's all hand made.
Interesting. I'm going with an 8.8 for my Beretta LS swap, but keeping it live axle. FYI, an explorer is the perfect width for a Beretta. Haha

That would be awesome. I sold my 1st Gen square body 87 cavi sedan 5 years ago along with my 90,94,99and 05s and a 1st Gen wagon or a 2nd Gen. I wanted to drop a 95-02 2.2 in one as to me they are much better than an ecotec but an LS swapped mini me wagon would be bad ass. I've never owned an LS swapped 3rd Gen camaro yet as I like my 'maros stock but I'm working on 5.3 4l60e swapping my 06 rt magnum wagon

Hey man, I'm actually considering doing a JDM 1JZ GTE swap for a 05 sunfire.
What major tips and set backs can you tell me you experienced and what subframe did you find best to use for your build?
Know i'm not him, but a 1jz is gonna be a long block to fit under the hood of a cavalier, any which way you spin it. More power to you, but are you sure it will fit?
@@cavalierliberty6838 the reason I'm confident it will, is I've seen plenty of videos of Civics getting Nissan engines and 2Jzs being fitted in. Considering the sunfires unibody frame closely resembles that of the civic, plus the extra space the engine bay has, it shouldn't take any more work to fit in that what I've seen,
Just means more firewall and tunnel work.
@@justicetysick fair enough. I will say that from what i know, you are looking a lot of welding and fabricating work. The original cradle should work, with some mods.
@@cavalierliberty6838 definitely a lot haha, I'm going to do an apprenticeship at a custom shop start January. Learn how to weld and fabricate, spring time I'll use my knowledge of cars, construction, and the influence of alcohol to come up with something.

@@thewotguy6424 I have a Cobalt shell sitting around, I been wanting to make a project build, I'm stuck between a 383 stroker rwd build and a k24 fwd build. How is the rear end and everything built? I thought maybe tube chassis subframe or possibly the back of a s10 frame with 9" rear end

I allways wanted to do this to my 99 Z24 but lower it a little with the stock spoke wheels or have some custom 12inch rear wheels but look like the stock just wider not taller, the wheels on this car are too big and ruin the look!
