By the end of my first playthrough my V was a hyper-over leveled Netrunner with a 4 second Kerenzikov and 20 in Reflexes, so I just air dashed around spamming Synaptic Burnout and smacking him with Comrades Hammer. Aside from being a slight bullet sponge, I had 0 issues dealing with buddy, and the game hyped him up so much too. The fight should have obliterated half of Sucka Tower and ended with a choose-your-poison stats based end kill where whatever skill you’re most invested in is how you end his ass. So a character spec’d out for Cool and Intelligence a lot might force him to do the Suicide quickhack over and over until his heads gone, a Body and Technical Ability character could beat the absolute shit out of him and then blow him up with nades, a stealthy blade ninja could Vergil slice his ass to pieces with Sandevistan. I’ll take what I got, cause I’ve recently went from dismissing this game to hating the fact that I can’t play anymore of it (fuck Muamar) , but Adam Smasher and really all named “Boss Characters”need a serious rehash.

If you're playing on hard (Which you should be in general) and up, Smasher's a fucking nightmare and can just kill you in one shot. He's also insanely tanky, so you need to fight him smart and either be really good at dodging and predicting where he's gonna teleport or you respec your build to have the health needed to not be instantly destroyed.

*From the moment he understood the weakness of his flesh, it digusted him...* *He craved the strength and certainty of steel...* *He aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine...* *Adam Smasher is saved, for the Machine is Immortal.* Now we finally have the Smasher that we were always meant to fight.
it still feels like a good few bullets well placed and you take him down in 5/10 shots. IMO Adam should have: - Reflection ICE: special software that nullifies and then counters any damaging or status effect quickhack applied, 8 sec CD. - Even more Sandevistan movement: something like if you try to get away, run away or fly away, the dude just appears in your back and attacks you, and if not using another of his features (rockets/sentry mode or hand to hand combat) the man will dodge 80% of range attacks. - Multiple scenarios: not only the same place but also smashing walls into other rooms, fighting dark (no lights) and multiple other NPC enemies that may casually be recklessly destroyed by Smasher just for being in his path. - Way more damage
In addition to turning him into The Fuckin Boogeyman, Edgerunners gave Adam Smasher a lot of characterization. Ingame, he's a frothing asshole and a thug the game fails to hype up. In anime, he seems almost contemplative when we first see him, waiting quietly like a little boy until it's time to go killing again. When he dismisses David as a kid with a stolen gun, we assume that he's just being cocky, until we see he was being genuine about his ability to kill. When Faraday tries to boss him around, he seemed genuinely confused and offended someone is trying to talk to him. He probably didn't bother learning about anyone in that room besides David. When he meets David, he matches him body and spirit, talking mad shit the whole time like they're shooting hoops. He's clearly excited to see what David is capable of, and eager to test himself. He views everyone else in the fight with casual contempt, crushing Rebecca like an insect and shrugging off Lucy and Falco's attack like they're nothing. He only truly notices their presence when they try to flee, howling like a demon at the thought of their escape He rips David apart like a toy, cruely mocking the very notion that David was anything other than lucky to make it this far. But when the fight is over and David lays dying at his feet, he seems almost sentimental, reluctant to let a worthy adversary go so easily. I wonder if his offer to digitize David was genuine. I wonder if he saw a bit of himself in the kid, the way Maine did. David already turned himself into a monster

@@AALion2004 i think you're cooking so helped put things into paragraphs for myself to read: To be fair, Smasher only enjoys a good fight and struggle. The only people who gave him a hard time were Morgan Blackhand and Vincent/V. He literally laughs when you fight him in-game, as he fights and chases you around exactly like how he fought Morgan Blackhand. With David, though, he knows about the potential David would've had if he had been less reckless and more careful. David could have become a strong solo like V and Morgan if he had played his cards carefully. The fact that David is more chromed up than V and Morgan, and Smasher's agreement with people who chrome themselves up almost to the point like he is, makes him see David as a younger version of himself. That's why he gave him a chance to be a construct-he wouldn't give that chance to just anybody. When you think about it, Smasher only respects three people: Morgan, V, and David. Interestingly enough, I would say they are the three main characters of Cyberpunk, though only one remains now since David is gone and V as well, if you've done the different endings. This shows how much of a legend Morgan Blackhand is compared to them, because both David and Vincent get screwed over no matter what.
@@VGhlIExhZHkgd2hvIEtub3dz TBH, V only became a legend because of the extreme measures he took to try and fix his problem. No problem, no legend. Even if he hadn't made any mistakes after the Konpeki Plaza heist, he would still most likely have died. The Nomad ending shows that they're searching for an answer, but if one of the two best netrunners ever-who also happens to be a rogue AI with access to billions of petabytes of data-couldn't provide him even with a recipe for a solution, the chances of a group of desert-dwelling people with limited time and resources finding a cure for V are extremely low. The "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" ending also hints that Mr. Blue Eyes might help V, but the legitimacy of that is questionable. One thing that annoys me about that ending is how V, out of bumf*ck nowhere, decides to forsake everything he ever cared about just for the sake of a legend status he won't even get to enjoy for long. In every other aspect, though, it's the best ending. It's the most badass, has the best soundtrack, the fewest friendly casualties, and it's easily the most satisfying because it solidifies V as an absolute machine of a Solo. It turns him into a straight booty bandit lol. Think about it: his whole story was one of loneliness, thanks to the mess he got involved in during his first big job. So it makes sense that he finishes things alone. He became a Solo for that very reason. And David wasn’t really that good. He didn't have any real combat skill and never actually fought anyone that could challenge his cyberware, and when he did, he got dismantled like a toy. In the end, he was nothing more than what Faraday described him as-a chrome junkie. He was an addict who kept pushing past his limits until it killed him. To be honest, he was lucky in the very way he became a legend. Many Cyberpsychos die in complete obscurity, and given how easily Smasher killed him, he wasn’t anything particularly crazy compared to the psychos V hunts down for Regina. The only reason he didn’t go out in total obscurity was because he had an above-average affinity for cyberware implantation that caused him to be targetted by Arasaka-which, to be honest, turned out to be a bit of a fluke since he went crazy like almost every other psycho-and the fact that Lucy started messing with Arasaka at the worst possible time. Lucy being a person of interest for Arasaka only made things worse. When you really look at it, David's rise boils down to everything but his effort and competence. Blackhand is basically the Batman of Night City, largely because he never actually fought Smasher without extensive prep work. Adam Smasher loathed him. Morgan Blackhand represented everything Smasher despised-the "helpless struggle of humanity," as Smasher might call it. The relentless desire to be something more than just meat for the slaughterhouse. Smasher viewed organic life forms as nothing but meat. In contrast, Blackhand had almost zero enhancements aside from his, well, black hands. While Smasher only took on contracts that allowed for collateral damage, letting him unleash as much destruction as possible, Blackhand would sometimes go out of his way to use non-lethal bullets, even against those trying to kill him. Smasher was Arasaka’s personal grim reaper, whereas Blackhand was Militech’s poster boy. And for that reason, Smasher constantly challenged him. However, Blackhand never accepted the challenge because, first, he wasn’t a bloodthirsty machine like Smasher, who thrived on death, and second, he knew it would be a death sentence. So, realistically, Morgan Blackhand is an extremely intellectual and tactical man who carefully picks his battles and prepares extensively for them. David is just a lucky kid with high-tech military apparatus. And finally, Smasher and V are simply two absolute fiends who just roll with the waves. Spoilers: in Phantom Liberty you can technically fix V's problem, but with all the thing's you sacrifice to get to that point, it's almost like selling your soul. And that is not mentioning the loss of all your cyberware.
You know what would have been more of a punch? Have him reminisce and monologue about this other guy that actually manage to get him have fun too and how fighting you reminds him of that...

Unlike with samurai, where they think it's honorable to kill your opponent and to die in battle, knights believed that it was far more honorable to be humble enough to admit ones defeat before it goes that far
And that it was far more honorable to show mercy to their opponent rather than killing them.
How did you interpret mercy as killing him? I want to know

I'm also a netrunner so i had to dodge everything and try to hack him non stop and hit him with a smart shotgun every time i did. It was specially hard when having another 3 guys shooting at you from different angles.
He has to be playing on easy because when I was doing don't fear the reaper on very hard, due to you having reduced health in that version of the mission, almost every single attack of his instakilled me despite having over a thousand armor. I was using the edgerunner perk to load up on cyberware at the cost of health so I had to go back and remove all non essential cyberware for my build and do anything to try to boost my max health just so I could survive tanking one hit from him and I managed to beat him first try after dying for like 1-2 hours.

Thank you bbg
Finally, it's a fair fight now.
Edge runners saved this game in more ways than one, I see
Hell yeah, back to his proper glory
Good advice: Try to beat Smasher at highest difficulty
I played on Very Hard (playing on anything but the highest difficulty just makes me feel inadequate) and... yeah, fuck that was hard.
On very hard he's absurdly tanky. With my maxxed out katana build it takes me over 5 minutes to get him to 50% health
I did that without using Sandevistan, and holy shit took me hours to defeat him. His shift movement makes it hard to shoot at him.
@budgetcommander4849 pleaee tell me how you dealt with the snipers once he drops to 50% health? Im always at only around 140 health because of the relic in dftr and the snipers keep 1 shooting me. On very hard ofcourse

What is that OSt in 2.1 fight in video
P.T. Adamczyk - Gate K9 (from Phantom Liberty)

How much of an improvement is the fight really? I beat him in 2.0 (hardest dif) and i'm wondering if its worth installing the game again just to experience this fight. Seems like V is still able to outmaneuver him easily
probably not, it still look mad goofy easy
its more of a spectacle but still easy i think u r good off a video, maybe just load a save
Now this is what I've been waiting for.
Should've been like this from the begining.
Still remember how 2 shots of a shotgun took around half of his HP during 1.3 patch... was beyond underwhelming
I like how you show up in a dress and high heels. It’s usually how I fight Adam too 💅
*From the moment he understood the weakness of his flesh, it digusted him...*
*He craved the strength and certainty of steel...*
*He aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine...*
*Adam Smasher is saved, for the Machine is Immortal.*
Now we finally have the Smasher that we were always meant to fight.
it still feels like a good few bullets well placed and you take him down in 5/10 shots. IMO Adam should have:
- Reflection ICE: special software that nullifies and then counters any damaging or status effect quickhack applied, 8 sec CD.
He only truly notices their presence when they try to flee, howling like a demon at the thought of their escape
He rips David apart like a toy, cruely mocking the very notion that David was anything other than lucky to make it this far.
To be Fair Smasher only enjoys a good fight and struggle literally the only people who gave him a hard time was Morgan blackhand and Vincent/V he literally laughs when you fight him ingame as he fights and chases you around exactly like how he fought Morgan blackhand with David tho he knows about the potential David would've had had he been more less reckless and careful David woulda became a strong solo like V and Morgan had he played his cards carefully and the fact that David is more chromed up than V and Morgan and smasher agrees with people that chrome themselves up almost to the point like how he is so when he saw David it was like seeing a younger version of himself that's why he gave him a chance to be a construct he wouldn't give that chance to just anybody so when you think about it Smasher only respects 3 people Morgan V and David which funny enough I would say are the 3 main characters of cyberpunk well 1 now since David is gone and V as well since he can die if you've done a different endings shows how much of a legend Morgan blackhand is compared to them because both David and Vincent get screwed over no matter what 😬
@@AALion2004 i think you're cooking so helped put things into paragraphs for myself to read:
To be fair, Smasher only enjoys a good fight and struggle.
@@VGhlIExhZHkgd2hvIEtub3dz thanks for organizing it tho 😂👍
Spoilers:
in Phantom Liberty you can technically fix V's problem, but with all the thing's you sacrifice to get to that point, it's almost like selling your soul. And that is not mentioning the loss of all your cyberware.
2.1 Smasher finally shows Night City that even gods bleed.
