The thing that make me respect Adam Smasher is that although he has become full cyborg and sees it as future of humanity , he has never become a slave of technology. We can peek into his ideology when he talked about David's mech and how he uses his Sandevistan. He seems to aware of the consequence of over reliance on advance device and weaponry , and his true strength comes from the extensive experience as a solo merc and his monstrous psyche. Adam Smasher is like an old outlaw that fully embrace the future but still believe in the old way of doing things , and is insanely good at it , his chrome does not control him , he has dominance over them.
Ehhh I disagree. Smasher has zero humanity. He see’s people as meat. He see’s any and all values that bind people as weakness. He’s an actual psychopath. Whether thats his manifestation of cyber psychosis or it makes him immune to it is up for debate
A part of me wishes he took that offer but we would have never gotten the best line in all of anime. “whatever choom, like I give a shit” I will forever live by those words.
Ooof now that would be something, oh and what if during that season he somehow reunites with Lucy as a borged out David. Then he now has to try and escape the trenches of being an Arasaka war dog to be with Lucy once and for all.
I loved Smasher in Edgerunners. Throughout the show, David and his friends are built up as these unstoppable badasses, hardened mercs and beasts through and through. Then Smasher shows up and in about 5 minutes completely crushes all of them, not even flinching at anything they have to offer. He literally beats all of them in their own specialties. Outguns Becca, no sells Lucy's hacks, matches David's Sandy and outchromes him, and would've cut Falco's escape with Lucy short if not for David interfering. An absolute monster through and through
He is showing the crowd that at the end of the day they are just punks playing with big boy toys. My favorite line of his is describing David's suit as having "anti-gravity training wheels". Most people would see that thing and be intimidated, scrambling for a way to beat it, but Adam has enough combat experience to immediately see a crutch he can sweep from under his enemy.
I also loved when he said “a rudimentary implant” about the Sandevistan. David’s most powerful thing in his arsenal and Adam just sees it as a minor buff.
Well he was originally designated to wield the Cyber Skeleton so I'd imagine he's had time to look over it. Probably why it went into alternative testing. Adam probably wanted nothing to do with it. It's very powerful sure but the glaring weakness is the anti grav that holds it up. A skilled opponent disables those and like David you really can't do much without it
Also he didn’t immediately exploit said weakness. He could have clapped David from the start, used his Sandy to get the jump on him. But instead, he sparred with David, respected his determination, and ultimately in the end, I believe he respected David himself.
I don't know why, but I was laughing so hard when I saw Adam go down the elevator. I understand he doesn't use his implants unless he needs to. But the fact he's the Most cybernetic person in the Cyberpunk universe and he takes an Elevator during a fight is just a hilarious concept for me

Hilariously David's way is the stupid way because it FAR more damaging to you mind and humanity to constantly be chopping yourself up, in comparison going Full-Cyborg not only is less destructive on the psyche...but you actually get a discount when taking in upgrades (making them far less damaging to your Humanity Score). ...also your wrong about Adam, there is actually a small, usually pretty chill, community of Full-Body Cyborgs in Night City (unless they got smart and left after the nuke). I think once Lucy left alive David gave up because his only purpose here was to save her and he succeeded. Plus he was going to go psycho after this anyway. Well i think that skin on his face is to help him from going insane cause in the ttrpg you can get skin if your full borg. I believe all he really is, is a brain and spine.
@@evanloner4983 nah, Smasher’s already insane, even before going full Borg, he just embraced it, and it’s the reason he has control over himself unlike other cyberpsychos.

Was Silverhand a challenge? Johnny was zeroed by Smasher in the tower. Johnny escaping to the roof, only to be killed by smasher on the rooftop didn't actually happen. AIt alludes to this, as does past cyberpunk lore. Smasher killed Johnny first time around inside the tower.
i mean back in 2023 smasher had a lot less superchrome and silverhand was carryin that Malorian monstrosity pretending to be a pistol,,, Smasher still won the fights forcing silverhand to run for it

For anyone that's curious, the only person that Smasher was never able to best in his Entire life Was Morgan Blackhand who is known as a Solo among Solo's with only a few Cyber upgrades and all Human Skill. Was Silverhand a challenge? Johnny was zeroed by Smasher in the tower. Johnny escaping to the roof, only to be killed by smasher on the rooftop didn't actually happen. AIt alludes to this, as does past cyberpunk lore. Smasher killed Johnny first time around inside the tower.
i mean back in 2023 smasher had a lot less superchrome and silverhand was carryin that Malorian monstrosity pretending to be a pistol,,, Smasher still won the fights forcing silverhand to run for it
@@profbawbag6604 We also need to remember that those flashbacks are told from Johnnys perspective. And he tends to exaggerate.
That's just Silverhand's biased narration. Smasher in the heist is actually after Blackhand. In actuality Silverhand was just immediately cleaved in half by one shot of Smasher's shotgun.
Adam is the personification of a player in late game doing an fresh new event. A second season should make him protagonist
I hope he gets updated in game to be stronger
@@Awpic Hype!!!
@@Awpic truly hope so, then again v is literally the strongest person period so like, he might not
adam just needs an actual good moveset and multiple phases and then we chillin, v just kills him in 3 seconds flat endgame
@@Vertix07911 It'd be cool to have an anime where we see 2077 from Smasher's perspective and the end is like edgerunners with V standing over Smasher
When you see this way of portraying Adam Smasher, it makes you realise how insanely powerful V actually is.
No, it just makes me wish I fought *this* Smasher.
@@undeadhound3402 Well for the most part you do. His weapon is even more violent in game. Except for the big fall and the Sandevistan (it would be just weird to figth a sandevistan in the game) you face every part of his arsenal shown in the anime.
@@undeadhound3402 Wish is slowly getting there, adam's got the sandy now
Whenever people mention V beating Smasher, it feels like whenever those annoying fanboys bring up their favorite OC character and proclaim that they're the strongest character in the series that they belong to. It's so annoying lol.
V is not a seperate character, V is supposed to be you.
@@cynicalmemester1694 But V its a lore character in the timeline and supposed to be the strongest in nc of all time.
It'd be really easy to make this sort of character either be a cold machine or a raging psycho, but Adam's actually a very nice balance of the two. It is all business, and he's ruthlessly efficient, but he clearly loves his job, and is using it to turn as many people into scrap/meat piles as possible.
In his own words, into "a cut of packaged meat 🍖" right then...
It seems that one Adam Smasher 💀🤖 was in fact a very nice balance between a *cold, Terminator-esque killer machine* and a *raging (cyber)psychopath* as you been said on your comment here ya, Raptor Man...
It’s literally in his contract, he *expects* collateral damage. No. He *demands* it. And he’s literally so effective that Arasaka lets him.
Adam Smasher is like cyberpunk's Darth Vader
That seems a lil far fetched but Adam smasher is certainly cyberpunks Adam Smasher.
more like how vader is represented in new hope,
he is tall dark mechanical man with a synthsized voice that kills named characters like nothing but isn't the top bad guy as he receives orders from his higher ups.
More like General Grievous. He was an unstoppable killing machine who could easily take down multiple Jedi simultaneously when introduced, but got nerfed to hell in the show and movie.
Adam is nigh unstoppable in the lore and anime, but nerfed to hell in the game.
@@RedneckSith Grievous had gimmicky cybernetics and a body that broke easily, he would've gone for the cyberskeleton. Smasher keeps it practical.
Man’s had tuberculosis
For anyone that's curious, the only person that Smasher was never able to best in his Entire life Was Morgan Blackhand who is known as a Solo among Solo's with only a few Cyber upgrades and all Human Skill. Put into perspective as how Talented and Skilled Morgan was when compared to Smasher since all his marks or bounty's were brought in alive for extra pay.
Still waiting to see this Morgan in true action
@@Awpic well last I heard, in the events before Cyberpunk Edge Runners and 2077 Morgan Blackhand was fighting against Adam Smasher in a 1v1 duel before the mini Nuke bomb in Arasaka Tower went off. Morgan has been missing since but in 2077 there are shards that talk about a " Grizzle and Talented Solo." picking fights with the Lazarus Group Agents and winning. Some say it's Blackhand while others say that he's is picking when it is the best time to Come back to Night City. Other than that Blackhand was Mike Pondsmiths OC character on table top
Yup he sure was. I love the table top rpg.
"the only person that Smasher was never able to best in his Entire life Was Morgan Blackhand".
And V, obviously. Not only was he not able to best him, but V literally shot him to pieces.
@@Erik-cl5ff in smasher’s defense, V literally solos the entire verse in theory 💀
He’s a villain yes, but he’s a fucking professional villain.
Adam Smasher is such a fucking gamer that I basically forgot about the main cast entirely as soon as he showed up on screen and viewed him as the protagonist
Same here, I saw Adam Smash Rebecca, and cheered. It’s Adam Smasher, and I love him as a villain
How to avoid getting depressed
Step 1: wipe your brain of the main cast
Step 2: see Adam smasher as the main character
Step 3: enjoy
gawk gawk gawk muh adam op smasher,.., ., .,@@schnicorr
I like to imagine Smasher says "Who the fuck are you?" because he didn't really care about doing what he was sent there to do, kill the damn guy, he just wanted to rip David to pieces because he was the biggest guy in the room, and later got tunnel vision on killing Lucy and Falco after David bored him
Honestly same but I couldn’t help but die of laughter when he said that
Yeah, it really shows how far down on the food chain someone like Faraday really was. Your average Night City fixer isn't jack shit to these people that have influence on a global scale
@@nagger8216
Well then, Nagger: Faraday's definitely just little than a *measly-level Night City fixer* to those people that having an *influence on a global scale* 🌐 (and grander scheme of things as well...)
I love how the only reason Adam Smasher doesn’t lose his mind from all the chrome is because he’s already way more insane than any amount of cyberpsychosis could ever make him
iirc he /is/ a cyberpsycho, however he's been described as a "high functioning cyberpsycho". he has some control but still shows some tendencies of them, namely an incredible bloodlust
@@Temp5412 what I meant is that cyberpsychosis makes one lose all empathy and humanity. Adam was already a complete psychopath and therefore didn't have any empathy is him to begin with, hence his high functioning nature
@@CompletelyNormalHuman I understand what you meant; I was just adding in a little extra info I remember seeing.
@@Temp5412 I know, just wanted to add onto it
Can't lose your humanity if you never had it
Can't go insane if you never had sanity.
