I have to admit, my favorite part of this was Louise transforming into Mama Ducky! That was so adorable. Poor real mama couldn't keep up with her young'uns and they latched onto Louise - precious & hilarious! Thanks for taking us along, Louise, and a big hello to Emily when ya get home & Joanie also. Skirtches to AJ & Summer too. :)
"And here we can see a Louise on her natural habitat, being completely unaware of civilization and becoming one with nature, her ability to cast a spell on birds is almost mythical, not as strong as showing her... thoughts to people". SOLD OUT TOUR.
I just love how down to earth you are and how much you enjoy your out doors time camping great music too thank you for sharing your time with all of your viewers ❤your meals are amazing too 👍☺
Lou is out there pulling birds and mooning tourits. Living her best life basicly. As a Swede, I am amazed how organized the camping is, here you just walk anywhere and pitch your tent for a few nights, no matter who owns the land, but don't forget the thermacell....
Gorgeous wildlife photography! 🥰 I couldn't decide what was cutest though, Mrs Peahen with her brood, the squirrels or the baby ducks deciding to adopt you. 😍 Basically an entire video of cuteness animal overload and an unexpected moment of overexposure for the tourists. 😂
Colonel Waugh and his wife started a pottery on Brownsea in 1852. They had visited the island before buying it and believed the clay they found would be suitable for porcelain, to make them a fortune. They were backed by geologists and banks, and borrowed money to create the Brownsea Clay and Pottery Company.
If memory serves me correctly there was also a short narrow gauge railway possibly with some remnants still to be seen which transported the clay from the pit to the pottery.
Thanks Lou. Just caught you this morning. Great video as always. I was beginning to think you had forgotten us fans when i couldn’t find you yesterday! XX
That's a lot of kit, Louise. I can do a 6 day back pack with less than that. Admittedly, fresh water available all the way, but everything thing else carried in and out! 6 days on the Jatbula Trail. No kitchen's or camping ground facilities, so one has to take something to cook on. I'll try to find a photo.
well I am in ore of the standard of these videos, If you had had a film crew with you i doubt it could have been bettered, the work involved as I have said many times must be incredible, It is as if you had a dozen cameras simply brilliant and congratulations
This was hilarious! Now everybody knows to wear blue shoes to attract ducks and to drop your drawers for the tourist group and you can say you've been camping with Louise! xo Suzi
Always wanted to camp on Brownsea. Being a scout leader . We brought our group for a visit last year and added our sign. It's great to see it's still there . Great video. Definitely going to camp there now. Top of my list of things to do
Never a disappointment! Even the parking up in the harbour car park the effort in the camera shots, never fails to amaze us. Creative genius Lou 🙌🏼 ALWAYS entertaining ALWAYS interesting We look forward to Sundays just to watch you guys, whatever it is you’ve been up to ❤ Amy Paul & Ted 🐾
Wow, I went back and watched that again and indeed how many different shots Lou must have set up by herself, in a rush, with all that luggage for 10 seconds, that most people wont even realize the effort to frame. Definitely going to extra mile to produce professional videos.
@@PB_657 ah that’s pretty cool that you went back and checked out the bit I was talking about ☺️ I couldn’t agree more with you, the magic is that most people don’t notice and I suppose that’s what is intended, comfortable but immersive viewing. 100% effort in every video and that’s why they deserve their success. Stuck with my broken down truck in Valence France, it was a pleasure to watch your video. Although it is not on our list, the UK might be worth visiting with our van. Greetings from the Netherlands, Dennis and Angéla.
Amazing shots and compositions, all the more impressive as you were on your own. I really look forward to your Sunday videos, they are just the best whatever you're doing.
Its gorgeous little place, and all the nature so lovely, loved the female peacock bringing her babies to see you and the little ducklings begging for your attention . I was thinking was it where they filmed Swallow's and Amazon's or the writer got inspired by the place .
Cracking video Louise and thoroughly enjoyable to watch. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to more of the same and more of your usual family trips 😄
Beautiful video, Louise. Thanks so much. Female peahens don’t have brilliant feathers, those belong to the peacock. The mama peahen with her peachicks has brown tail feathers. We have some pea families around us and they are noisy birds. I thoroughly enjoy your wildlife photography. Thanks for hauling your gear for us! Hi Emily😊
Love your vlog Lou. I have some happy memories of Brownsea Island from my childhood days and it was lovely to see it again. Many thanks for sharing your camping trip with us and for the beautiful video. xx🙂👍 ⛺️ 🦚
I run away from home aged 14...took the 50p boat, spent 6 hours on Brownsea on me todd...got homesick, caught the boat back, 20 minute bike ride home back to Mum & Dad...only to run off 10 years later to Brittany (where you filmed in the last video, Dinan...pronounced Dee non) with my future her in doors...how's about that then
I‘m actually watching your Norway/Sweden series from last year at the mo. It’s so helpful and entertaining, Louise. We hadn’t realised about the mosquitos. I hope whatever it was worked out. You guys deserve so much success. We really love how much you appreciate what you‘re able to do. Every video is uplifting and inspiring. 🤗
Hello Louise thanks for showing us your trip to the beautiful Brownsea island 🏝. Many years ago with had a ferry ride around this beautiful Isle😍. Camping is so much fun ,and good bit of history about the scouts. Best wishes Simon and Beth ❤🙋♥️
There are an insane number of camera moves and jump cuts! Very nicely filmed and edited, one of your best, particularly as you were solo. (Secret nine person film crew with you?) All the wildlife is ridiculously tame on Brownsea Island. I was there in the 1960s as a school boy with the Scouts. Probably time for a revisit , do they do discounts for pensioners?
I visited this island for the day as a kid. The only thing I remember is spending hours searching for fallen peacock feathers, only to have the rangers confiscate them when getting on the boat. Apparently it was to discourage people actually trying to pluck the feathers from the peacocks.
@@campervibe no I agree with it. Don't want the poor peacocks to be bald due to stupid tourists. Not sure if they still do this, it would be 20 odd years since I went, it's just a random childhood memory of mine x
As a retired (?) backpacker, I thoroughly enjoyed your camping trip and the camping area tour. All Mod cons though which kinda defeats the object of the excersise for me. However I reckon the others on the ferry would appreciate a NON-Smelly camper travelling back with them. A great video and glimpse into the area and the wildlife of the island. Thanks for sharing this Louise.
Another graet flog. Of course we all love the banter and joking between the two of you, which makes solo-adventures that bit harder to pull off. Louise however nailed on this one, as her love for animals in the wild and the great outdoors was so omnipresent and inspireing. Thank you for that.
Fun Scouting Fact. Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the scouts, had a less outdoorsy cousin who provided accommodation in houses. He was called Robert Baden-Breakfast.
I think many managed wildlife locations in the UK have been shuttered due to Avian Flu - I know the Farne Islands are so, and I have been meaning to say I would DEARLY LOVE for you to make a visit up to Seahouses and take the trip over to Inner Farne and Staples. The birding is absolutely mental with Puffins zooming all around and Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills, Sandwich Terns, Common Terns, Roseate Terns, Arctic Terns, Shags, Cormorants and Eider Ducks nesting at your feet. It's an unreal experience.
Hold-en your parking. Really like how Mumma Pea, brought the lil peas over for dinner. Mumma Duck taught her lings real good, 2 legs means food. Geez Louise, gotta thank you for thisy! Bludy rippa lotta wildlife. Hadn't heard about this Island, and here am I an ex retired Scout Leader. 😏Bout 45 years ago. If my arm was longer, I'd Hi 5 ya [✋Hi 5] you'll havta settle for thisy! Thanks m8, nice job!
Great video, thanks for sharing. As a Scoutmaster here in the USA I have heard many tales of Brownsea Island and it was nice to actually see it. As an RV'er I also enjoy your van trips.
Love this film Louise, looks a lovely place. I recently saw red squirrels in the Yorkshire Dales and they are truly special. Fun fact a male peafowl is a peacock and the female is a peahen.
Hi Emily, this weeks vid was particularly interesting - Brownsea Island is 20 minutes up the road from us…..and we’ve never been! Looks like we’re going to have to go now. Well, your missus does some brave things on her own and I don’t mean mooning at tourists or being seen without her hat….she works hard on those films. Hope you, Joanie, AJ and Summer are well and we look forward to the next one. Stay safe girls, regards Reg.
Thank you so much, so many bloggers have either gone stale or gone commercial. You are still as fresh as ever and with wonderful videos . I don’t have a campervan, I am an old age caravaner and a bit set in my ways but I wait for your vlogs coming out and enjoy every one😊
I love this approach to learn about new places. Of course you were not wild, wild camping but to safely see wildlife accustomed to public whilst carrying expensive equipment is probably inviting for many people. I admit being a little bored after about 3 years of watching Van daily life of what they ingest, digest and evacuate! I am interested in how people travel and places that would be accessible for me at this age! I can see that UA-camr Vanlifers (property owners- most of them) have to up their game, round the changes etc. YOu have made that your work and other work to earn your income. I appreciate the joy given to people like me, who cannot afford to be a patreon of any UA-camr, not on my pension, SO THANK YOU. However, for a single woman, your Mum's age, for my own mentality I have to get out of my dark French house which I admit is a bonus in this heat but brings on major depression in the winter months or even summer if it is too hot to be in the sunshine and shade. Just returned from a 5 day trip including journey days to La Rochelle, and a fave 'sort of secret and wild now' parking at Ile de Ré. I explored your parking suggestions for parking on the coastline with an amazing place where I finished my birthday trip with the freshest quality in size and taste best 'moules marinières' of my life, EVER! No shade so I wouldnt wish to stay there for long! The fun of the one I ate out was interesting to find as a Kangoo van but a larger vehicle would have found access almost impossible ... which suits me to be away from camper van sardines! It's good to do one's own research...part of the fun of exploring..however, challenge of finding a suitable power bank suitable for my temporary van situation and budget is difficult for a non techie person. The hand held portable phone charger runs out as quickly as the iphone! A french man told me to buy a solar panel and he said he didn't have a leisure battery! Anyway... I enjoy your changes of content but have missed a week of vloggers! Looking fwd to why you've had to decamp so fast!
One of our fav places, we're biased as we live about 8 miles towards the Forest. If you decide to come down again enmasse you're more than welcome to stop and drop or pick up water, etc. Sad about the Avian bird flu strike as most of the deaths on the reserve were chicks. Probably why the hides were out of bounds. Not sure if John Lewis employees can still stay in the castle. Furzey is where they had the horrendous spillage earlier in the year. Bonham-Christie at least saved it, in a way, for us. Those peacocks mug you. We were looking at some in front of us and the peahens were behind us nicking our cheese and pickle sarnies, p.s. if you are trying to attract peacocks they love cheese and bread but hate pickle. 😊
what an amazing place to camp, the baby peacocks are soooo cute, and the ducks l think they liked your blue trainers 😁 wildlife seems very tame there, great camera work ☺
Great trip Lou, some fantastic pics and video. love the ducklings following you instead of mother. love the peacocks and was good to catch the deer as well. bet you dont drop your shorts again before having a look all around🤣 take care girls. xx
Good grief Louise! You were carting around 66 pounds of gear? Why on earth don't you bring a trolly? Old lady vibe aside, it'll save your back. Cripes, I was using a trolly to haul my dog stuff around when I was in my thirties. Did no harm to my image as a cool girl 😁. Other than that, great camping video. Nice to have those facilities and at least you didn't need to haul cooking gear on top of everything else. So 97 for 3 nights? That would be about $41 US. And with shower and toilet facilities, not bad, particularly in high summer. That was so cool the momma peahen came right up to your camp site with her chicks! And even the red squirrel dude, right there checking you out 😆! Really enjoyed that, glad you did too. Can't wait to hear the possible great news when it's safe to tell. Howdy to Emily, AJ and Summer.
Awh Lou that was awesome. Didn’t know that island existed. Those ducks were brilliant so funny 😂. Definitely at that to the bucket list. Thanks for sharing 😊
Love seeing you, Louise… at one with nature! Always a tonic. Brownsea island is as beautiful and unique as it was when i was a child. Nice coverage as per😃
Louise that was different and yet so cool . Knew you liked nature and photography. All the nature was great to see . You made the whole experience look so great and well worth a visit . The drive was so much fun we could tell . The forest walks were lovely , all the facts were great . Yes I agree any naturally beautiful places to see right now are so crowded . I love walking in forests they make me calm and just so at ease with whatever ails me . Thank you for this , this am so far has been trying and you gave me a reset . 🫶👍🐾❤️ ⛺️
Hi Louse an amazing video with all that wildlife, it was brilliant even for you to play mother duck 😂😂..so sweet. I bet you had a wonderful time, thanks for taking all with you. Hope Emily and all the family are okay. Take care and see you next week.
Brilliant video Louise. I aughed out loud at the mooning during the day, visitors don't normally experience 2 moons in one day. The wildlife shots were amazing ,but my favourite were the ducklings, sooo cute.I was lucky enough to visit Brownsea Island as a classroom helper with about 25 little munchkins. I was knackered when I got home, but it is a very beautiul and special place and definitely worth the visit. Thanks for the laughs. Hugs Wiltshire
Great video as always, loved seeing all the wildlife, especially the cute ducklings, where the peacocks noisy?, not often you are surrounded by cock!. Glad you had a great time, we live in Bournemouth and feel lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful places, we sometimes get deer on the beach, apparently they swim over from brownsea. If I had known you were coming, I would have bought you some “Dorset Knobs”, they are locally made biscuits, you could of taken them home for Emily, don’t think she would have been keen on them though! 😂
Comment 2: Peachicks and a Pea hen is the correct. They are super curious. We had them when I was growing up. At first I thought you brought that cooking gear, I was like DOH!! GURL!!!
May I recommend an original song written about the mountain wilderness ? DON'T GO UP TO THE MOUNTAIN TOP WITHOUT ME (C)2006 From james monahan original songs @jamesmonahan1870 also 👀 LOST HER IN THE RAIN REMASTERED (C)2006 Thank you for listening. 😊

You should be on the TV. So informative and enthusiastic. Love your camping trips.
Yeah I’ve thought that for ages. Lou could be a presenter, camerawomen, director or producer on TV as she does all these at tv level already.
Too kind, thank you

Unfortunately the clay wasn’t good enough for porcelain so they made drainpipes and chimney pots instead

Ah, those magnificent ear tufts - the squirrels, not you, Lou! A lovely video, thank you.
😂
Sounds really nice and beautiful to hear only the sea and birds in the morning instead of traffic
The ducks made me smile..looks lovely there. As for the tourists u probably made their night lol
Another amazing video Thankyou for the hard work you put in! Island looked amazing. And those baby ducks have definitely learnt where food is found! ❤
Yeah not too bad really for what type of island it is, I’m good thank you 😀
Lou the duck whisperer telling the watching millions to sush so not to frighten away the red squirrels 😂😂Cheers K.
Another gem of a video.
Awh Lou that was awesome. Didn’t know that island existed. Those ducks were brilliant so funny 😂. Definitely at that to the bucket list. Thanks for sharing 😊
Another triumph , shot composition and editing are beautiful - thanks Lou for sharing this adventure
Love seeing you, Louise… at one with nature! Always a tonic. Brownsea island is as beautiful and unique as it was when i was a child. Nice coverage as per😃
That peacock family!😍
Louise that was different and yet so cool . Knew you liked nature and photography. All the nature was great to see . You made the whole experience look so great and well worth a visit . The drive was so much fun we could tell . The forest walks were lovely , all the facts were great . Yes I agree any naturally beautiful places to see right now are so crowded . I love walking in forests they make me calm and just so at ease with whatever ails me . Thank you for this , this am so far has been trying and you gave me a reset . 🫶👍🐾❤️ ⛺️
Being in the forests are one of our fav places to be
Hi Louse an amazing video with all that wildlife, it was brilliant even for you to play mother duck 😂😂..so sweet.
I bet you had a wonderful time, thanks for taking all with you.
Hope Emily and all the family are okay.
Take care and see you next week.
We are all good thanks
wellcome bk guys glad your injoying your adventures 😂😂
Brilliant video Louise. I aughed out loud at the mooning during the day, visitors don't normally experience 2 moons in one day. The wildlife shots were amazing ,but my favourite were the ducklings, sooo cute.I was lucky enough to visit Brownsea Island as a classroom helper with about 25 little munchkins. I was knackered when I got home, but it is a very beautiul and special place and definitely worth the visit. Thanks for the laughs. Hugs Wiltshire
That's a peahen with it's babies. Peacocks are only for the males who are usually full colour. Peahens are the brown ones. 😊
Fabulous photography . I appreciate the time and effort you must have put into that production. Thanks Louise.
Love your solo camping/wildlife trips Louise. Although miss Emilie’s food and snack dances! 😂🥰🏴
So you showed your pants to a tour group and jumped on a ferry!? Big weekend! Delightful little adventure!
Comment 2: Peachicks and a Pea hen is the correct. They are super curious. We had them when I was growing up. At first I thought you brought that cooking gear, I was like DOH!! GURL!!!
Thank you Louise this was so great to watch on your trip to the Island merry Christmas and happy new from Australia

That cool box looked very much like a snack box to me.
Love Brownsea Island, visited when our daughter was young. She is 31 now so a wee while ago. Fingers crossed for your good news.
