3:26in they can only go that fast cos there a*s* IS on fire! If the b*g*a* come down to 6ft Louise, bale out before your blown out. Hearda Snowdon, seen a cupla others climb it! Proud ofya both! Nice job Laura thanks for gettin Emily up there. Nice goin Louise! Who is the dog who wasn't A.J. climbin Snowdon? My Uncle [Retired Mossie Nav] and his wife, visited his Squadron Leader, the Snowdon told me about the Dog, the bloke killed and then found his son. Spot on Emily. Nice goin m8s thanks heaps.
A lot of the folklore stories are based on some real life event, how similar those events are to the myths which come from them varies, I used to read a lot of the stories and then research them, visiting the sites and doing paintings of the real area and then of the myths too, I never looked into the story of Gelert, but one of my favourites was the tale of the Afanc, a terrifying beast who lived in a pool a mile north of Betws y Coed, he used to cut off the water supply to the village and became such a nuisance he was dragged up Snowdon by bulls and thrown in the bottomless lake Glaslyn where he resides to this day, but when I researched the story I found beavers lived in that area at the time so were obviously blocking the river with dams, hence several hundred years down the line we have the story of the Afanc!
Emily’s white water faces ….. PRICELESS!! However I had already ‘liked’ the video.. always do as I start watching as I know they are gonna be great. Living my adventure brain through you both… thanks.. Scaredy-Geordie xx
You took me away and plunked me right into a Wales wonderland. I must say I am impressed by all of Emily’s “looks” in this video, from the joy of white watering, the playfulness on the cold water, the terror of the trail, the release of overcoming fear, her wide life affirming smile in the village over the bridge to loving on Summer the super van cat and flopping on the bed with Lou. Louise, as usual, added her wry dimension to events. Good old AJ at that wolf grave was epic. “We’ll believe it.” Why not? Thanks so much for a “whales” of a ride.
Good for you, Emily. My body literally shuts down on edges like that. I shake, I involuntarily cry and I can’t move. So I’m extremely proud of you for doing it!
You go girls!!!! What a wow trip. My sister took my mum white water rafting in Colorado when she was in her late 70s. We five sisters on shore prepared ourselves for calling in the rescue folks. Mum loved it. Louise, you were right when you said Wales is a bit Norway -ish...it has the same stunning landscape and lots of water. Thanks for another great video. xo Suzi
Matt clearly knows his stuff, put you in a ‘stopper’ wave. However! Be cautious everyone and never paddle alone, avoid stopper waves in ‘high water’ if you fall out of your boat the wave will push you to the bottom and churn you over and over - breaking free is extremely difficult in that situation and you likely will need assistance in said situation. Someone I knew, lifeguard trainer assessor and kayak instructor, died rescuing a young teen one winter. The water was high, river burst it’s banks, said teen was alone and trapped in a stopper. He was rescued by our friend and he managed to get the young boy to safety on an island that had formed in the middle of the river. He then proceeded to break one of his own rules. He removed his wet suit to cover the boy. They were both air lifted to hospital. The young lad survived, our friend perished through hypothermia. Enjoy the rivers guys, challenge yourself, but stay safe.
THAT ridge!!! I never thought I'd see that ridge again! We hiked Snowdon for the second time last year, thick fog and rain fell over whilst going over THAT ridge! Well done for completing, what an amazing achievement, my tummy was in knots watching!
OH....that story! breaks my heart 💔 such stunning views all around, congrats on your accomplishments this trip ladies. Loved this video, thanks for sharing. PS, your cat is beautiful, and pup is precious!
Gorgeous Wales! I was over where you all were two weeks ago doing my very first sleep out in my micro (Hightop Doblo) camper, then all the way over to Pembroke - all thanks to you two and your inspirational vlogs. Thanks! 😃❤
Hi Colin, Lou here! Normally Emily gets to the comments before me but luckily she’s stuffing her face right now! I just wanted to say I’m so pleased to hear you’re out and about in your camper! I know what you’ve been through and I know you’ve been supporting this channel now for such a long time so it’s lovely to know you’re on the road! I really hope you enjoy it and that the first sleep out went well! Micro campers are cool cos you can pretty much park them anywhere. Don’t tell Emily I said that tho or she’ll have me building her one quicker than you can say kitkat! 🤣
@@campervibe oh thanks Lou! I'm sat here feeling a little bit weepy lol! It's a pleasure watching you all over the last couple of years and yes, it has helped me in ways I think you understand. Cxx
Well done. Been there twice back in the 90s with the RAF. Part of the Three Peaks Challenge operating a radio for the event safety. First year walked up the Pig Trail and back down over the scree. Second year I took the train up but went over my ankles twice on the way down. Landed up taking baby steps down the rail line and being overtaken by the “injured”, whom I had arranged to spend the night in the cafe!
Wales is so special. Have to applaud your effort Emily of walking up those narrow, insanely high paths - fear of heights is genetic. I'm the same. I can't believe how beautiful Wales is. Imagine moving there!! Thanks both, that was a top adventure and great to see some of your travelling friends.
The girls who went up a hill but came down a mountain. Funny that, I'm sure they made a film in Wales starring Hugh Grant with a similar name ...... By the way, nothing on this earth would have got me on that path, I'd be over the edge & gone because of balance problems. Well done Em. The story of Gelert is a legend, but we all love legends. Glad you love Wales, we love our country too 🏴
The Huw grant film was based on a true story regarding Garth Hill in South Wales, in the film they make the hill over 1000 feet to become mountain, but these days they'd have their work cut out as nowadays a mountain has to be 2000 feet. There was actually a very similar story in real life in Snowdonia a few years back, Tal y Fan above the village of Rowen is considered the most northerly 2000 foot mountain in Snowdonia, but it's only 2001 feet, a group of men with state of the art gps surveying equipment were checking the height of several summits in the park, including Tal y Fan, and all the locals were worried it would be measured short of 2000 feet demoting it to a hill, but it wasn't, it was measured at 2001 feet again to everyone's relief, they also measured Snowdon which also worried a lot of tourist shops full of merchandise with 1085m printed on it, but again the summit was measured as being exactly the same height as before.
Hope Emily got some cake at least after walking that scary ridge line! Looked amazing! Actually Louise also deserves cake for such a fab video and powering up there too 🎉🎉. such a big effort you both!
Imagine not knowing there was a train... Magnificent views and Fun Fact wasn't fun at all, kinda sad. Again, Wales is really beautiful. Way to go Emily, if you fall downhill at least not going alone is a good option. Lou, you know we know how talented you are. ¡¡PURA VIDA!!
Weird fact - The white water rafting on the Tryweryn is good for team building and it was one of the last things that the London Tube bombers did together. 😮
That’s lovely. Took me back 50 years when my wife to be and I being cocky Kinder Scout veterans sneered at Snowdon and stupidly ascended the ridge route in shorts and tee shirts. Got to the cafe, downed 2 pints of cider each and skittled merrily back down the mountain. The following week someone was blown off the ridge in a snow storm and died. Never underestimate the mighty Snowdon.
Bar none Wales was our favorite exploration spot - loved Conway, and walked final 1/2 up (train first) then walked all back. Funny one of the British walkers yelled out at the end that she was shattered. We all laughed at that expression and then you say it! It’s a no joke walk and we didn’t do what you did! People, the country all glorious.
Emily you should be proud of yourself, you face your fear head on and you conquered it. DOUBLE SNACKS, as a reward. 🤣 The drone shots are amazing Louise. P.S. The whitewater rafting looked awesome, now I want to try it.
Living on The Wirral, I used to go to Wales as a kid for my summer holidays. I have spent many a summer in a tent whilst the rain battered down. My parents once pitched the tent, late at night, in a farmers field on Anglesea, only to be woken up by a jet from RAF Valley 30 feet above the tent. That’s what I call a rude awakening. I have still never been to the top of Snowdon (at least I dont remember doing so). Great video - loved it.
It's a good thing to push your limits, as long as you know what your limits are. It's just like pain, it let's you know that you're still alive. Great video!! Beautiful scenery!! The topography was beautiful too 😉
Can you ask the gods to make a camper van happen for me. Make your camper vibe happen for Lisa? I love every moment … thank you for keeping me alive….. literally….
Wow! Well done. I remember how amazingly beautiful the Welsh hills/mountains are. Went on a five day riding trip in the Brecon Beacon national park back in 2012.
Bala’s lake is more accurately called Llyn Tegid. Bala is not pronounced “Bah-lah” but the “a”s are short and hard and pronounced the northern way as in “pan”. I used to sail there and the water is always cold, always needing a wetsuit! The lake is home to a rare fish called “gwyniad” that dwells in the deep. So deep that it is rarely caught. It is related to the Arctic char and there used to be some preserved in a large jar in one of Bala’s pubs when I was a lad.
Well girls you have outdone yourselves this week. The views were just stunning I don't know how you did the hike Em up Snowdon I hate heights as well. Louise you did a great job with the camera at the white water rapids it was all just stunning can't say it enough. Can't wait to see what you are all up to next week take care and stay safe xxPat
Wow! That ridge was awesome. Proud of you Emily. I have trouble with heights, too. Not scared, vertigo kicks in and that's scary to lose your balance just standing still. Glad you made it. What an experience. Stunning views. Loved the beauty shots on white water. 😂 As always, a great vid. Stay safe, ladies, and enjoy the journey. Thank you!
Another interesting video, the jets were F15 Strike Eagles based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, another beautiful part of the lovely Island we all live on.
Thank you for bringing back happy memories, I took my dad on that very river white water rafting for his 65th birthday. Both mum n dad passed a few years later in 2015 and this bought a happy smile to my face.. Much love thank you ❤
I did white water rafting in Colorado on the Colorado river, it was amazing! well done Emily on executing that huge mountain and to you also Louise. Great scenery. So glad you had fun, Lovely to watch also. Cheers.
Absolutely fantastic, great job both of you getting up snowden , also that little dog made it to. White water rafting look amazing love Wales great job girls.👍❤️
I have always wanted to do white water rafting and never had anyone to go with me, i am in North Wales every Sunday too ( differant places) , never get sick of the views
What fantastic fun. Love white water rafting. Can't believe the views you got at the top of Snowdon, it is not always like that, you were lucky to get those views. ❤
Reminds me of a ridge on Everest. If you fall to the left, it's Nepal and a 10000 foot drop. If you fall to the right, it's Tibet and only 8000 feet. So, slways fall to the right...
Wow - what a fabulous video, which shows Wales to be absolutely stunning. As for Snowden - well done to both of you and Emily, quite something to do that with your fear of heights. I was having ‘sweaty feet’ moments throughout. Loved the whole vid!
If you're near Bala again you should walk the mountains of southern snowdonia. The Aruns, Arenigs etc. Lots to choose from and saves the drive to Snowdon.
Omg that whole video was awesome. We’ll done Em I would have bottled it- not that I’m fit enough to get half way up 😂 Wales is stunning but Lou’s filming/editing skills are amazing. Best yet ladies.
Great vid! I have to live vicariously through videos like this these days, as thanks to a youth of skateboarding, BMX, surfing and going to the gym four times a week for 25 years, my back, knees and feet are basically fuc*ed! Now i have to just chill in the van drinking Jack Daniels ! Medicinal purposes only, of course!
I‘ve only watched half so far and I had to come and re-watch with my husband. I am from Wows and can confirm, you got the best Summer weather 🤣! You made me and then us roar with laughter! When I first took my then bf (German) to Wows, as we crossed the severn bridge, I pointed and said so proudly: that is Wales! And I swear to you, it started raining 🤣 You white water rafting was glorious ❤ Going to watch the rest now. Back again: omg Emily, you were so brave to keep going. So inspiring, both of you in different ways ❤❤
Wow, that was amazing! Emily has definitely earned bragging rights. To do that kind of hike with a fear of heights is incredibly brave, kudos to you! The rafting was great fun to watch, and glad no one ended up in the drink. Wales is gorgeous, and it's a wonder everyone doesn't move there! Thanks for a fab video! Ear scritches and belly rubs for AJ and Summer! 😊
Well done Emma! That ridge was very scary, and I'm not even scared of heights. The path was very uneven too, so you would have to be careful with every step. But you did it 💪
As someone who can't handle heights, and is finding it worse as I get older, you have my respect and admiration, Emily. Like you, also, I have been white-water rafting (on the Athabasca River in Canada) and loved it. We don't get much of that sort of thing in Hampshire, mind you :)
Great to get outdoors. I felt sorry for you Emily poor wee you , you were whiter than usual but good for you to go for it up on that mountain. . Im glad you didnt breathe in too much water Lou but looked like great fun on the water. What a great adventure. Thanks for sharing. it was great fun to watch:)
It's a shame the weather turned as you entered N. Wales, its been far too hot for weeks, we were desperate for Rain as we don't have mains Water only Springs. (Love Burbons & Marsh Mallows, never tried them together). We used to sail my brothers Mirror Dingy on Bala. We have VW Campervan Meets there each year. You are very brave walking up Snowdon, we used to go up practicing for Duke of Edinburgh Awards, I last walked it in my mid 20's, with a gang of Red Cross Kids, so I had to pretend to be brave. It's much Easier going up by train, which is very expensive but most enjoyable. The Orme in Llandudno is an easier Climb. Or Moel Famae, part of the Clwydian Range. Nr. our home. Proud of you.
What a fantastic adventure! Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. This world is such a beautiful place and I'm so glad y'all document it as well as making us laugh along the way. I look forward to your adventures every week. Thank you for taking us along once again.
I don’t how you two are able to do it, but you have produced another EPIC video! You have packed more adventures in this video then some people can do in a lifetime.
Well done both for getting up the mountain. I hate highs myself. Feel for you, got to do it...crapping your pants at the same time!! We came to live here after so many holidays and adventures.
Fell in love with wales a couple of years ago. Had the choice of Croatia or Wales for September chosen Wales! Beach to mountains spectacular and even the white rafting place as a spectator sport was fun! Keep being brave Emily and Lou your cinematic style❤
My favourite biscuits are McVites dark chocolate digestives yummy Emily!! LOL the look on Emily's face while white water rafting, your friends look like great people!! The Welsh countryside is SO lush & green!! What a pity we can't get YFood in Australia 😏 Now that was one of the best uphill hikes you both have done so far, well done Emily with your height fears especially with the wind!! It looked quite hard but what a relief you both made it with the other friends Congrats!! 👍How were your legs after hike or trek?? Love the music by the way 🤗💜💜🇦🇺🍻
Well Done Emily to overcome your fear of heights, I fully appreciate how you must have felt, after I said I'd paint the rear of our house... little did I know that it meant I'd be up a ladder for the top most parts, near on 22 feet above ground standing on a VERY bouncy set of steps on a windy day ... Well done Girl, You deserve a medal for that. Lou's ariel shots were superb as usual and I really appreciated the Welsh hills. Another brilliant vlog. Keep them coming.. they makes my Sundays.
This wonderful vlog brought back so many happy memories of my various trips to beautiful Wales over the years… oh to be young again! Lou & Em, thank you so much for sharing your adventures! xx🐾
I know exactly how you felt walking up snowdon, i did that when i was 13/ 14 years old , i ended up going up on my hands and knees , i was convinced i was going to be blown off , great memories of caravan holidays when i was young , my dad use to train kids for their duke of Edinburgh awards so was use to doing all of that .

Even though there are no added sugars, there's between 5 and 6 teaspoons of natural sugar in one bottle of the mango flavour. I can't have that 😮💨

Thank you for bringing back happy memories, I took my dad on that very river white water rafting for his 65th birthday. Both mum n dad passed a few years later in 2015 and this bought a happy smile to my face.. Much love thank you ❤
I’m glad 🙂🙂🙂
I did white water rafting in Colorado on the Colorado river, it was amazing! well done Emily on executing that huge mountain and to you also Louise. Great scenery. So glad you had fun, Lovely to watch also. Cheers.
I have been halfway around the world and of all the places the one that tugs at my heart is Wales and it's people
Absolutely fantastic, great job both of you getting up snowden , also that little dog made it to.
White water rafting look amazing love Wales great job girls.👍❤️
You two are absolutely amazing, well done conquering that mountain...an inspiration for many, love it ❤
Thank you 😀😀
I have always wanted to do white water rafting and never had anyone to go with me, i am in North Wales every Sunday too ( differant places) , never get sick of the views
Wow that looked like so much fun. I laughed so hard with the water hitting both of you , that I woke my husband up. Lol 😂😂😂
Good to see you both up in my neck of the woods this week.
Bedge Gelert ! priceless.
Amazing experience and beautiful time in wales😊 north wales is stunning ❤❤
Well done ladies you did so well , no wonder your both knackered.
The filming was amazing.
And I swear to you, it started raining 🤣
You white water rafting was glorious ❤
Going to watch the rest now.
Back again: omg Emily, you were so brave to keep going. So inspiring, both of you in different ways ❤❤
Thank you and we do love this place 😀😀
Well done on the climb. I did it about a week after you but no view on the summit because it was stuck in cloud. We love Wales too.
Thank you and yeah loads of belly rubs for them 😀
Action packed trip! Amazing filming as usual. Well done Emily for conquering the ridge 🎉❤🏴
Well done Emma! That ridge was very scary, and I'm not even scared of heights. The path was very uneven too, so you would have to be careful with every step. But you did it 💪
18:11 What a view. When we went up Yr Wyddfa years ago, it was foggy at the top. We couldn't see a bloody thing
That’s a shame, we was extremely lucky with the weather
As someone who can't handle heights, and is finding it worse as I get older, you have my respect and admiration, Emily. Like you, also, I have been white-water rafting (on the Athabasca River in Canada) and loved it. We don't get much of that sort of thing in Hampshire, mind you :)
Definitely a sting in the tail the very last clime to the summit, wicked adventures 🥾⛰⛺️🥾👌
Well done Emily on facing your fears... again. I would have hadto turn back as soon as I saw the cow on the loose 😳
Another great video 😀
Jo x
It's much
Easier going up by train, which is very expensive but most enjoyable. The Orme in Llandudno is an easier Climb. Or Moel Famae, part of the Clwydian Range. Nr. our home. Proud of you.
Go Emily you little warrior, fantastic video ladies 👏👏👏👏👏
Great video Ladies, thank you for taking us along, beautiful place
What a fantastic adventure! Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. This world is such a beautiful place and I'm so glad y'all document it as well as making us laugh along the way. I look forward to your adventures every week. Thank you for taking us along once again.
I don’t how you two are able to do it, but you have produced another EPIC video! You have packed more adventures in this video then some people can do in a lifetime.
😀😀😀
Can’t get enough of north wales some of the best views in the uk and the pubs are not bad either
Well done both for getting up the mountain. I hate highs myself. Feel for you, got to do it...crapping your pants at the same time!!
We came to live here after so many holidays and adventures.
Another Amazing video. Such fantastic Scenic shots. Thanks for taking us along on your travels. Loved the Snowden clips. Well done ladies!
Love the "Lord of the Rings" adventure feeling to the music!
They were F35 lightning which went over top of you. Sound is amazing.
I love Beddgelert, but not been for years. The Snowdon hike was magnificent, well done you 2 - gosh the views... stunning. Great vlog ❤👋
Fantastic ladies and thanks for sharing 👍
Wales is beautiful and you captured some wonderful scenery 😍.
Take care 😊
Fell in love with wales a couple of years ago. Had the choice of Croatia or Wales for September chosen Wales! Beach to mountains spectacular and even the white rafting place as a spectator sport was fun! Keep being brave Emily and Lou your cinematic style❤
It is a beautiful place
You girls are making me feel at home. Even though I am born in South Wales Cardiff 😊
AMAZING, STUNNING . You are both so brilliant to watch. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. But you would not have got me on that ridge. Xx
Love the music by the way 🤗💜💜🇦🇺🍻
Brilliant camera work and editing for this one. You captured the fun beautifully 😊
Oh yeah that’s bad enough
I do like the drone footage. Looks exhausting but fun all in one.
This wonderful vlog brought back so many happy memories of my various trips to beautiful Wales over the years… oh to be young again! Lou & Em, thank you so much for sharing your adventures! xx🐾
P.S. I had to giggle at your wonderful dialect… Wows indeed! 😂
Absolutely brilliant video girls thank you so much for sharing well done 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏
talk about action packed - I'm exhausted! and Em - you were bloody amAZing on the pointy path!!
Yet again another fabulous video you are definitely living your best life and rightly so .
That was the saddest story about the dog , I’ve got tears in my eyes 😢
I know
I know exactly how you felt walking up snowdon, i did that when i was 13/ 14 years old , i ended up going up on my hands and knees , i was convinced i was going to be blown off , great memories of caravan holidays when i was young , my dad use to train kids for their duke of Edinburgh awards so was use to doing all of that .
That is exactly how I felt 😂🫣
I know it's terrifying 😅
I love the British Isles vlogs beautiful scenery ladies
Awesome job there ladies especially you Emily. Having a morbid fear of heights myself I can imagine just how you were feeling.
I was glad I did it but definitely not at the time
