Tony are you making this video for me? 😂. Seriously I make all these mistakes. I love smashing the heavy bag. We have one in our gym which is well over 100kg. . I love hitting it, however, I do attempt to hit it too hard and I drop my hands. I love it though it helps me in life. Therapeutic. Great teaching 👍🥊🏴
Don’t drop your hands, don’t telegraph your punches, don’t stick your chin out, head movement (don’t be a stationary target), use your hips for boxing. Advice that’s more or less a dime a dozen. What exactly about this standard advice makes him the best?
Mistakes: 1 - Dropping the non punching hand 2 - Pulling the hand back before punching (just go straight forward) 3 - Having your chin in the air 4 - Not moving and dodging after or before punches (like Tyson does) 5 - Not using the hips in order to generate speed and have punches reach further
Tony’s techniques are so good his mistakes are better than most fighters, my old man was a boxer back in Philly in a gym, he taught me everything Tony coaches. Thanks Tony
Tony you are literally the best coach. I love how you not only just show us what to do but you also demonstrate what not to do. And you explain things very very well. I'm practicing boxing at home and I can already see myself getting better and better by following your tips. ❤
I'm super proud of myself for being able to see the things correctly you were highlighting (except the chin part, I wasn't looking at that properly until you exaggerated it). Between your advice (and other online coaches), sparring, and of course my actual coach who I've worked with extensively in the last year...I've come such a long way, it's crazy. A year ago, I would've had no clue what you were trying to show me or why. Thanks so much for your part in my success, and for offering this advice for free to those of us trying to learn and grow!
Im Polish, used to be the skinny wimpy guy in school but i decided to start Boxing about 6 months ago after watching rocky, i started slowly not realy getting the flow but a friend of mine told me to watch your vids, so i did that and i cant Thank you more you helped me so much and now im way better than i used to be❤
please tony , never stop doing those videos ! , i dont have the time to go into a boxing gym, so i try to learn it by myself( watching your videos) :D. Youve helped me so much. Keep it going Sir!!!
Most of the champions do a lot of things wrong , but that is because they have modified boxing to their own style. If something works for you , it simply does. There are very little fighters that fight by the book and always hold hands up etc.. Hats off to everyone who made it.
Because of your online training, I have truly become a better boxer and i think many others follower too. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. All the best to you and good health to you and your family.
Thanks to your videos I learned to put so much power in my punch it just blew me away how much more. Moving your head in front of a heavy bag seems silly in the beginning but at a certain point it feels natural. Not telegraphing my punches is still a struggle but slowly getting there. Thank you for training and teaching us Tony. Your videos are a great help. 👊🏻
My first fight was a psychological fight, the gym I went to was cold damp mouldy and stank of rancid sweat with a ring covered in blood drips. There was no where to hide. It was famous for lads turning up once never to be seen again.
Great champ, great coach, great man! Thank you champion for selflessly sharing your knowledge with us, I have been training boxing for more than fifteen years, but I always have something to learn from such maestro!
Greetings and salutations Mr. Jeffries. Im a bit like you in reverse. Ive done jiu jitsu for 17 years and recently started boxing. I love all your tutorials and try to absorb as much as I can from them. Thank uou do much!
TONY YOU ARE MY BIGGEST INSPIRATION AND ARE THE WHOLE REASON I WANT TO TAKE A CAREER IN BOXING THIS SPORT SAVED MY LIFE AND PULLED ME OUT OF DEPRESSION AND IT ALL STARTED WHEN I SAY YOU SPAR THAT BODYBUILDER THANK YOU FOR CHANGING MY LIFE❤❤❤
Thanks coach this video will help me improved my boxing in my bag at home no need in the gym making my own home gym equipment which is the bag im using right now hehe 25kg I will make another one which is 50kg but now im more focusing on my mistakes in boxing its hard to perfect it but the more i practice my boxing everyday makes my mistakes correct ,better, perfect ,form and defense.
Possibly the best demonstration you will see in a nutshell on how to box ..noticed sometimes your back foot lifts high with a chance to roll the ankle however very well explained video.
Dropping hands, pulling back, chin have to be down heads up, have to move head before and after punch, need to rotate hips, breathwork, closing eyes, Keep feet apart, keep moving, have2plant feet, momentum
Very good instructional video - one thing people make a mistake on with any type of striking is trying to hit the target 🎯 rather than trying to hit THROUGH the target 🎯
Yeh. I took vids of myself doing on bag work and I just stand there like a silly Bob the punching bag. But then again, I grapple so I'm always looking to grab a limb or two and knock the wanker down. In any case, good boxers do this bob and weave and head fake because it gives them good rhythm. I'll start adding it to my bag routines from now on. It's time for me to get better at this.
Due to restrictions in my home I can't learn kick boxing I want to learn kick boxing in nearby jungles as. Discpline not beat someone.... I hope your videos useful for me
Hi Tony, when I try and throw hooks, I feel like I don't really get much momentum behind the punch - could you possibly do a tutorial of the best way/general movement to get momentum behind a hook? Many thanks 👍
3:25 but…. but Anthony J. did this all the time in the Daniel D. fight. 😮 Has AJ already subscribed to your channel. Maybe there is still a possibility to salvage AJ’s boxing career.
Hello boxing bro. What is your opinion on only turning your fist over only once you hit target to increase chances of a cut? I find it quite efficient when the right knuckles land and helps my hand snap back after the twist. What you think champ?
Tony, I started watching your vids when you had around 300k subs (it was the beginning of the pandemic), now you are 2 MIL+ and I won 3 of my amateur bouts while 90% of the time self trained. Could I call COACH? Thank you
Tony if I punch the heavybag what punch should I visualize speed or power? Because i always throw a big punch rather than technique and speed then i can push it coz I always think throw a powerful punches
WOW he really went from 50k subscribers to 2+ mil. The last time I watched Tony was when he reviewed Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell fight, he was teaching how to handle street fights and people in the comment section were joking about his dad bod lmao.
Great tips i dont do none of the above the only mistakes i make at that point is not returning my hands after punching fast enough, getting my feet too close when going left and right or shifting, and last but not least i dont get how much of my arm has to go into the bag - if i extend all the way im barely hitting it barely tapping the bag if im hitting it a little better its bent a bit on the straight punches... Does anyone has a fix for that ?
I am 14 almost 15 and i just started boxing. My condition is very good and my footwork is decent but I strugle with attacking and defending. Do someone have tips?
and don't forget that when you punch ur actually not supposed to just rotate your hips but rather your whole torso, starting from you hips all the way up to your shoulders

I saw a Video about and dropped a comment wich i think was Not exactly right
Thats because i cant understand why He got respect for Jake Paul If He is incinating all This and doing These scripted Fights
In the end of the Video jeffries was talking about His Intension with boxing and Life
If This IS true i was wrong with what i thought about him
But i dont know him
I Just git a different opinion with the respect for Jake Paul

Jake Paul easily because Mike Tyson is 60. Peakaboo relied on young athletic ability. Tyson is 60. A man closer to official retirement than his prime.
