The time he recorded here is about 2.1 seconds slower than the fastest Q1 time from 2012, while the HRT's time is nearly identical to its real world Q1 time from that same event. That seems a little unrealistic to me, for the modern DW12 to be that close to the 2012 Red Bull and McLaren, there's such a massive downforce deficit.
@@noggin6870 It is very unrealistic, one only needs to compare the COTA times of F1 in 2012 and IndyCar in 2019. The HRT time in Q1 was a 1:42.011, while the fastest time in Qualifying for IndyCar was a 1:45.452. That's still 3 seconds off and IndyCars haven't really changed much since 2019, though maybe with the hybrids they could be a bit faster.
@@Starfire_Storm add to this the fact that there are different, tighter track limits for the F1 cars on the same track, which would probably add another second or two for the Indycar.
hrt had around 750 bhp not 660. it had a cosworth engine, all cosworth teams used the same spec due to f1 engine homologation rules in place at the time
It depends on the version he's using. Early on the season that car was like 9-10 sec slower later it was only 4-5 sec. I assume he's using the Australia car
Relative to the season it was a part of, it was the 2012 HRT, it managed to fail the 107% qualifying rule and wasn't able to qualify on the first race.
This is the same spec as the detuned Redbull that Carwow uses to drag race, so similar power, an embarrassingly slow Formula, now we see in a sim how slow it is especially straighline performance...
This should be a thing. Indy vs F1. Series should stop just racing itself and compete with other similar series. Esecially F1 vs Indy is pretty much Europe vs America!
Nice video, but I have a question, if the slowest formula 1 car ever was called the formula 1.5 wouldn't that make it 1.5 times better than a formula 1 ? 😂
Would you rather drive in IndyCar or in Formula 1?

again your horsepower is wrong in F1 car. Way too low. Williams FW32 used the same engine. I was more like 730-750
That has GOT to be embarrassing! Normally, the IndyCar wouldn't even be able to be NEAR an F1! Poor HRT.

It's so weird seeing modern branding at Valencia
Even though it's the worst F1 car in the 21st century it still sounds good
hrt had around 750 bhp not 660. it had a cosworth engine, all cosworth teams used the same spec due to f1 engine homologation rules in place at the time

HRT no way had 660hp. It has a Cosworth V8 with at least 750hp.

Whoever was ABSOLUTELY SENDING that IndyCar, props
Probably an AI, but impressive nonetheless
Alex Palou has won 3 championships in 5 years. I swear he could bring a car from the local go kart track and still win the race.
That Indycar has a human driver, the F1, I'm not sure.
The V8 F1 engine was made with past v10 and have a output of 900 hp, 2 cylinder less the power around is 750 hp not 660 hp 🤔
What makes IndyCar great is that it's in part is made to be spectacular, not necessarily to be the fastest car. And I'd say bless them.
I fully agree, it’s also very versatile. One of the best racing cars in the world
Judging from the inputs I don't think the cars were driven by AI. I really just got to say that whoever drove the f1 sucks at driving
Isn’t that a bit harsh on De La Rosa?
0:38 indycar engine combined with f1 v8 engine sounds so good!
I was literally about to say it !
Since its never going to be used i suggest the straight be called the mark webber straight
Valencia and DelaRosa. Nice to see it!!
Real time here is:
Pedro de la Rosa HRT-Cosworth 1:42,171
So accurate
You might as well call it worst of this millennium
Current IR-18s have a Hybrid system introduced mid-season bringing the HP to a little under 900.

Valencia was a good track, shame the city wasn't as good
If the F1 car was paired with the worst driver in F1 history, Lance stroll, then the Indy car would romp home

Not quite
Isnt le 2014 cars slower than 2012 in general ? To me the worst F1 car in term of overall pace is the Catheram CT05
