In preparation for "Bourbon Month" I'm doing a little research, reading articles, watching videos etc. in search of the most common "Top Bourbons" or "Best Bourbons" for under $25. In doing so I came across this video and subscribed to your channel. Some of the bourbons in this video frequently appear in "Top Bourbons for Under $25" lists, the exception being the winner (no spoiler here) in this video. You guys are hilarious, keep it up!
This was a great idea and show. Also like having the back-up.
Hope you do the same with a $30 or $40 price point and then under $60. Most bourbons over $60 are very good so it will be great to see your favorites under $60.
First video I ever seen from this channel and it earned an instant subscribe. Nice choices and larceny and two star under 20 is pretty nice. Even William's is my choice for that price range and that's basically my house brand.
My old buddies and i got into old grand dad as we were growing up in the 90s. It was good stuff, priced between Jack and Jim back then. We'd call it OGD. Nice vid guys

Hey guys, thanks for the video. I know it's fairly old, but the fact that my favorite 4 Roses (the only brand I've tried, bought a case of it) made the top 4 was quite gratifying. I'll have to be sure to try Larceny and Two Stars since everyone seemed to like those better than 4 roses.

I have never seen Two Star, but I really like Very Old Barton 100. OGD is nowhere to be found where I live. I also love that there are different results each time - I have found that my tastes keep changing from day to day. fun video, thanks!

I like Four Roses and here in Vegas I've seen it for $19 to $23. It was also the favorite of Penny Chenery the owner of Secretariat, Best Race Horse in history.

very old barton is the king of all budget bourbons. here in central KY you can pick up a bottle just about anywhere there is liquor 4year $11 6 year white label $13

Im not big on bourbon, mostly drink rye or scotch but Wild Turkey 101 has always been a good one for me. It has some of those earthy flavors I like, plus its stronger so better deal👍
Might just be my local store but I picked up 750ml wild turkey 101 for $16. Price/performance is hard to beat I'll have to see how some of these stack up against it.
I sure liked Repeal Batch by JB. 16 bucks and totally sip worthy. What do you guys think of it?
Thank for the info guys! I just visited my parents in Georgia and picked up a bottle of Two Stars on special for $19 at TW. I’m blown away. Now I just need to lobby for new liquor laws in North Carolina so I can get this regularly.

I actually found Very Old Barton 100 proof NAS for $13.99 today in Va ABC and it reminded me of this episode. It was $3 cheaper than EW BiB and Ive never tried it so I figured why not?
Old Bardstown BiB, Willett bourbon 4yo 100p usually goes for ~$19 and if you live in KY, grab Heaven Hill Green Label 6yo for 14 bucks! Tremendous value.

Almost four years later and some places still have the Two Stars bourbon from 18 to 24 dollars, but it's hard to find. Larceny, Old Grand Dad, and Four Roses are usually 25 dollars or higher

Old Forester 86 for the win in my book. Easy to get anywhere...just a nice solid classic bourbon.
I agree with your winners because Larceny and Two Star can be found at my local liquor store everyday for $17. Also the Four Roses and Old Granddad can be found for $15. Definitely no losers today Cheers!
Two Stars Bourbon 750ml is $19.99 now at the tail end of 2020. Kinda bummed it wasn't in stock in my neck of the woods of Texas currently. I enjoy the show & commentary

My favorite under $20 Bourbon (non sale price as I call BS on the Larcney which I love but is not under $20 except on sale) is Jim Beam Distillers Cut. regular total wine price $18.99 this stuff reminds me of the new NAS knob Creek and tastes much more expensive than it's price.
My list of top 5 Bourbons under $20 (total wine prices) that give a variety that span the Bourbon flavor profile are 1 Jim Beam Distillers Cut($18.99) 2 Evan Williams White Label BIB ($16.99) 3 Old Forester 86($19.49) 4 Four Roses Yellow Label($18.99) 5 Makers Mark ($18.99)
There are other worthy contenders including Old Grandad ($12.99) Wild Turkey 101($20.99) and the Two Stars ($17.99). That is the great thing about Bourbon there is great stuff sitting on shelves everywhere for low money, and at the under $30 range there is a lot of other fantastic stuff waiting for you to try.
Unfortunately after being a Bourbon nerd for a couple of years I have completely fallen down the rabbit hole of single malt Scotch which is a bit more pricey but I still love cask strength Bourbon too.

Might want to sample some Henry McKenna. Comes from Bardstown, Ky. The Heaven Hill group and is straight up above Evan Williams and below Elijah Craig (12) . The next branch to the Left is where y'all will find Larceny . According to the Bourbon Family Tree.
Funny thing is people at a store that sells wine and beer along with more beverages have said that 2 stars was a product of the place with a buffalo. Guess they were trying to push sales by linking it to that distillery instead of Bartons which would not have been as sought after.

I use Rye in an old fashioned, usually Bulleit Rye. I used to use Makers but switched it up recently. I think it makes for a nicer Old Fashioned. But that's just me

On a dare, you should try Zachariah Harris. In a blind vertical taste test with friends it hit way above its fighting weight
Evan Williams is great and usually on sale for about $15 per 1.75 liter jug.

I'm gonna add another comment/+1 for Weller Special Reserve. That, as well as their other bourbons are fantastic for the price, and arguably better than most in the price range. Kind of surprised it didn't come to mind for any of these gentlemen.

I love Wild Turkey 101. It doesn't taste the best but it packs a punch yet has a clean buzz doesn't get you sloppy or give you much of a hangover. Kinda like a poor man's Elijah Craig. Which is also great for the price but closer to the cost of Woodford.

It's 19.99 at the total wine in the Woodlands Texas (easy to verify online). Picked up a bottle a couple of weeks ago. I'm shocked how cheap the prices are at that place.

Evan Williams (Bonded) White label is well under $20 on sale, and a handle sale is typically 30 bones. The best value in bourbon, which happens to be among my favorites.

@@BulleitBob I've never seen it for sale where I live, regular HH and EW. I've heard HH BiB is pretty close to EW white label. I'm interested in checking it out if I ever see it.
Evan Williams has several bourbons under 20 that are excellent. Their Bottled in Bond is really good, and the black label is also.
My best bourbon under $20 would be Weller SR. Sold at a nation wide chain liquor store that sells a lot of wine... for $18.99, when available.
Whisky Papa I have never ever seen Weller SR at any of the total wine. They say they stock it somewhere but I asked around and its existence is mythical like the Bigfoot.
I got lucky at least 3 times so far. I think the production is slowly catching on too. There is a liquor store I went today got 3 cases of SR in. And they ask for a pretty reasonable price too, $22.99.

Larceny is expensive where I live and I've never seen Two Stars. My choice would have been Four Roses, which is $27.
Not remotely a connoisseur, but Larceny and Evan Williams 1783 are my personal picks (you cant buy liquor at grocery and club stores here. State Commission stores only)

I just paid under $20 for Two Star. It’s not bad. I saw a different video where they all hated it.
M&M Kentucky Bourbon Whisky in my day it pasted our test for best cheap Bourbon.... $5+ 1970 and trust me we tasted a LOT! Turkey when we could afford it.
What, no Henry McKenna or Ancient Ancient Age. Both well under 20 and getting harder to find around where I live. Was that Larceny on some kind of "Open Bo(ttle)x sale?

@@ProjectPatification That sounds like the price for the Green Label (single barrel I think). Regular "Americas Favorite Table Bourbon" Henry McKenna used to sell around her for $10 until the bourbon craze hit and now it's about 12-15 dollars. Half gallons sell for about $20ish.

I would've loved to see how Evan Williams BiB, Wild Turkey 101, and Early Times BiB faired in this competition. Larceny should've not been in this. It's average MSRP is about $25-$28.

Michigan has high taxes on booze unfortunately
Neither have I and I live about 90 minutes from where it's distilled. Felt lucky to snag a bottle yesterday at 21.99
Tampa Florida Total Wine today was 26.99
MD (Apr 2020) 19.99 at my favorite spot, same price for the past year.

Two Stars is not even available in MI. Larceny is $27. I know they are only using local prices, though. Four Roses is $22 and OGD is $20, if you can even find it. This would be a huge challenge for me trying to find something under $20. Jim Beam double oak is $25.
