It would be interesting to see those 2 against old rip 10! Thanks for doing the head to head, seems the van winkle doesn’t disappoint.
I have 2 bottles of Weller 12 and 2 of winkle 12. I may have my wife pour them so I can blind test. Ive always thought I liked the Weller better.. but now you have me 2nd guessing myself lol.
Rebel Yell 10 yr SiB and the Fitz 9 yr are both age stated wheaters on the market. And RY is relatively available at $50-60. Time for a four bottle age stated wheater showdown!
I like the scratchy intro, guys. Interesting comparison. I've never seen either of these on the shelf, here in SW Florida, so I don't think the conundrum of choice will ever come up for me.
I'm a first time watcher. Cool review. I will be back . Thanks guys.
Thanks for watching!
1-31...y'all just improved your record...this was a great time to watch at 7am. The only issue I'm having is with the Weller...I easily find the reserve but the antique and the 12 are eluding me here in Texas.
@Jeffrey Barkley the liquor down the road from me in San Antonio always has Weller 12 and Antique on hand. Also, Blanton’s. Only bad thing huge mark up.
Been waiting on this!
Jules @6:30 "All kinds of exploration with the pink" - Always goes well with bourbon.
Great video guys!
Thanks for watching!
Never seen those in hawaii. Great video, loved the blind head to head.🤙
Should do another wheater challenge; Maker’s cask strength v. Weller 107
You guys just got a new suscriber! awesome vids guys, keep it up
Thanks for watching!
UnREAL! Went to a local pizza / bar food place = Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom. Noticed the bottles at the bar and see Old Van Winkle 10 year. WHAT!!! Only $20 a shot so went back tonight and find out they also have Van Winkle SR 12, Lot B for $22 so go with that and then find out they have George T. Staff, 2017 for $18 so that's next. The Lot B is sooo smoooth and easy sipping. But then the GTS = over da moon!! Needless to say, we skipped the Diet Coke mixer.
Awesome!
Should have done four comparisons of something because of the 50/50 chance
I miss these vids :-(
Dillon's love for OWA > 12yr is unreasonable
What a fun channel. In top three on UA-cam for me
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying our videos!
I got a bottle for $27 yesterday on a referral, I am new to this game and wondering if I should trade it away? Is this what I want to become a fan of Bourbon?
Hi guys, great video!! I have the chance for a Van Winkle lot b at $140. Should I buy?
That's a pretty good price. Thanks for watching!
Pretty good price!!
Because it’s hard to find.. and a great add to your collection... yes... taste wise... eh!
The dude on the far left ought to let the dude on the far right talk.
Great stuff!
Antique 107 would have been a draw with Pappys 10. It’s phenomenal
STFU!! You guy are awesome!!
weller 107 vs Pappy 15....Let's go!!
Weller 12 is $150-$180+ in SoCal. Pappy - any Pappy - don't recall seeing it at any of my usual stops that play fair with reasonable mark ups. $1,000-$1,600 seems to be the going rate online.
Given Weller 12 is marked up 4 to 5 times, and Pappy 12 is marked up 14 to 22 times SRP, either is an insane proposition. So SRP is no longer a consideration - it becomes a true individual decision of cost/benefit.
Given that the wheated bourbon market is limited, is there anything else that can offer a similar profile and still be at or around their SRP?
Not many choices with bourbon as with Scotch. Also, there's a lack of ambition within the industry. The reason why BT is better than the rest is quality control.
Kind of wish they gave thoughts on if they would pay the aftermarket pricing for these 2.
No kidding
Proud of you kids bourgbon games
So I finally got to do this for myself and on the nose and finish lot b for sure but on the palate I prefer Weller 12 by a hair margin
What a great channel!!!
Thanks!
Had both in my home and the Weller all day long for the money.
Lol at the prices. Good luck finding Weller 12 for less than $300 and VW FR for less than a grand now. What a world we lived in 3 years ago
Wouldn't a double blind pour mean you don't know the drinks as well?
Nxt should be poor man’s pappy vs pappy 12
The guy on the right is the only one to drink his drinks. He’s the REAL drinker.
Kelly Shaddix Ben drinks alright. Check out his review of Woodford Master Batch Proof!
That Harvey Weinstein looking fuck has a trash palate. Lmao
Buffalo Trace, pulling the wool over bourbon drinkers' eyes for decades now. People equate (fake) rarity with value and quality.
oooFURYooo have you tried Wellers antique 107? Obviously not. It’s fantastic and I have over 6 dozen bourbons in my cabinet. It’s not rare and 56.00 a bottle. As close to Pappy as You can get. It’s the only bottle on my nightstand
@@goldslinger . Yeah, I've had it a number of times. Decideely average bourbon. Pappy is average, overrated juice, too. The 10 is okay but the 15, 20 and 23 lean to overoaked like chewing on twigs.
Wheated bourbons like Weller/Pappy tend to taste sweet like breakfast cereal and don't often have the complexity I crave with higher rye content bourbons
@@goldslinger Where do you live that Weller 107 is not rare? I live in Dallas and it’s very rare here
@@taylorb7191 Western Kansas. It jut became allocated here. I was able to score a bottle 2 days ago. Put my name in.
Looking at these prices today is just miserable.
That van winkle 12 online is anywhere from 500 to 2,000. Not 70 dollars
Great blind tasting and comparison. Stopped in a small Mom & Pop store tonight and while looking over the shelves a lady walked in and asked the guy if he had any Poppy or Pippy (she was looking for her son) and the guy said he would look on the shelves. I smiled and told them NO. And that it would be VERY expensive, like $500 to 1,500, if she wanted to buy. I saw a bottle of Pappy 20 year old the other day in a store for $1,299. I guess that might be a good price?
best wheater and $25, LARCENY
@Benscratchin must be extremely hard to get Blanton's in your area. I would pay no more than $65 a bottle myself for it. $119 is an extreme price for a $60ish dollar bottle. Cheers my friend.
W12 is almost always spicy, and has more barrel influence. The lot b in a bling take will win more than not.
omg! I hate cinnamon!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ads hungry!
Of course you pick a unicorn that nobody can find for less than a grand!! Bullshit!!!!
Blah! Blah! Blah!
Pappy overrated lol
