I just flipped the mount around. I can more quickly reach up with my right trigger finger and depress the button before hooking the optic with my right thumb and rotating it out of the way as I head back down to the trigger than bring my left hand back almost 2 feet from the end of my 15” hand guard, operate the optic, and replace the support hand.
Yea that’s kinda what I thought you might say. I watch a video from either hop or brass and they complained that the magnifier got in the way of passive aiming which is the whole point of the set up. It was also said that day use was nearly unusable due to the height. I’m under the impression, it went beyond chin weld…
I have used LPVOs until recently but decided to try the magnifier/red dot combo. I have been dismayed at the low quality of eye relief. It seems to be a characteristic of all magnifiers. I am determined to try to make it work but using them so far has required that I change my stock position and my shooting stance. Once my bank account recovers I will check out the inexpensive 1-4 LPVOs on the market.
Personally I find the vmx-3t to work fine in the "right handed" configuration & by fine I mean it gets the job done. The button isn't so hard to reach if I use my right hand which kinda sucks but it works. Glad I'm not the only one who feels it's meant more for leftys
will the vmx 3t fit on the unity tactical fast omni mount? midway says it fits eotech, trijicon, sig, and vortex so im assuming they wouldnt exclude this but i wouldnt be surprised if they did
Personally I just got this 3x because it was a bundle on Amazon with a vortex red dot, and I bought a unity riser for the dot so I had to get the unity flip up for the 3x anyways….just some info for anyone considering this but doesn’t like the vortex flip up.
Primary Arms has a non-button operated 2-bolt flip mount at around $80 so you might not even need to find a secondhand EOTech for this. It doesn't have a quick disconnect but it seems like the more economical option - I'll shoot out an email seeing if it fits the Vortex but some people are saying online that it should.
@@compulsivegunbuyer Just got an email back - "Our Primary Arms SLx Flip-To-Side Magnifier Mount 1.41" - 2 Bolt Interface is compatible with the Vortex VMX-3T magnifier as they both feature the Eotech G33 mounting footprint." I'll be ordering one for myself.
I am a right handed shooter... If I have to flip the sight to the right, WITH my right hand, it means I take my finger/hand OFF the trigger. Makes no sense. Eye dominance does not matter as the magnifier is out of the way no matter which way you move it. Trigger dominance is what matters.

Interesting...
Will you do a video on sharing thoughts on the unity flip to center?
I might. Haven't used mine as much as I'd like, but then, even that says something about it...

As I lefty the button works super great for left hand gang
I actually Never thought about how it would be for a right handed person tho

Unity's website seems to say it works with the vmx3t
Interesting. I picked up the Vortex Micro3X, with its detent-based mount, and just assumed the previous version had been similar.
Yes, I expect the old mound didn't catch on. How do you like your micro 3x?

The PA LER 4 is a heck of a magnifier
Interesting. I haven't tried it. Do you know where the glass comes from? Is it Chinese, Philippine, Japanese, or other?
Does it work with the eotech spacer as well?
Yep, should work if I understand the question. May require different screws though.
@@compulsivegunbuyer understood, thanks.

@@ihavenoaffinity thanks for the update!
@@ihavenoaffinity can u you post a video of it please
Can't you reverse the magnifier on the mount? That's what Vortex claims.
You can, but you cannot reverse the button placement.
Tarp on the ground is a genius move btw. Now I just feel stupid
Unfortunately it does not work very well unless you stand in one place.

For a normal flip-to-side mount, you can use either hand to get it out of the way.
