Light Transmission for the Scope Cap Pro | One Hundred Concepts
We determine what percentage of light is lost with using the Scope Cap Pro from One Hundred Concepts.
We also discuss light caps and the tradeoffs you may need to consider while reducing your signature.
While this is not a review, One Hundred Concepts did send this Scope Cap Pro to me for free. Keep that in mind as you consider my findings.

Overtightened them when you installed them...😮
The Razor HD has been outmoded by the PA PLXc.
Does it make this sound constantly while its on?
Do Brass or Hop have any experience besides UA-cam theoreticals and paper targets?
Throw levers are your friend
I’d prefer the 365 version.
Sigh…. Still waiting
@chanc9737 we'll have to check in with them at SHOT '25
wow
AWH NOT THE DICKENS!
I too, am a compulsive gun buyer. 🧐
Speaks to me. Solid rifle king
Being shot is worse Hate to break it to you
@@theimmortal4718 doubt
why would you run irons under a vcog? why not run canter irons jw
So funny thing is, I’ve actually run into the same problem my work around was to get one of those aftermarket magnification levers
Definitely not LaRue....ill say that. 💯
It's bobro
Ouch lool
Dickins? You just wanted to show and tell your gear.
You got some Purdy soft hands there, boy
Putting a scope on a carbine makes no sense. It's not a sniper rifle lol.
Hoseclamp
U don’t run irons with a scope, if u do they should be canted irons so that way u never have to power down u can just roll over to irons for up close shots and roll back to scope for longer distance. Three gun setups have rolled over into the tactical aspect of things, I used to have a nightforce nx8 and a canted aimpoint t2. That was a slick setup…
Helpful video... What is the make/model of the quick-release scope mount you are showing on the SLX?
@pete_b42 it's an ADM mount. Not sure about the exact model, but they have some newer lighter options out these days.
@@compulsivegunbuyer Ok - thank you!
Great video. I find it's even worse with my 1x aim point with a 100concepts ARD. In some light condition it is so bad I am compelled to reach out an yank the ARD off. I know you don't want your optic to out you in the field, but you also need to be able to use it... I always run my light cap covered, as I am a perpetual ND offender otherwise. Training?
I'm also a compulsive gun buyer. And I like your balanced pros and cons on this subject. Brass'Opfeil are a go-to for me as well.... So subscribed! Thanks
Appreciate that, boss
Where did you get the pek at
parallax really matters with nv under night vision. the discovery opt 1-8 has adjustable parallax even though it weights a ton. worth looking at tho imo
Submerge it in water then let's see if it's worth a look
Awesome vid- thank you! Itd be great to see this same demo done, calling out 940 nm vs 840's ...
Lots of requests for that. I might have to make that demo at some point.
I moved to 940nm because of the excessive red glow on the 850nm illuminators. The 940nm is what you want for stealth. 850 can & does easily spook game too.
Also u can’t lut on a lever too unless if u put on a riser mount
Hmm why is the front sight set up backwards
Always an entertaining comment
@ hey not to bash or troll lol
@luisandrewmiranda4207 no worries, boss, it's just that the front sight post can go either way
BCM doesnt look anything like a larue
I'm not talking about the upper
Trijicon optics are solid but waaaaaayyyyy overpriced! I’m not putting an optic on my rifle that cost twice as much as the rifle did!
Conventional wisdom is that the optic should cost about as much as the rifle. It's actually a pretty good rule of thumb.
@ I’m Not a delta operator, I don’t need a bomb proof optic! Streamlight hlx, Burris rt6, and a sling is all I need
@powderedbuns8251 totally fine, and assuming you are putting those on a budget rifle, you are still basically following the conventional wisdom.
It’s defective, mine is wonderful. Got it years ago and still functions beautifully. Take advantage of that vortex warranty.
So basically an mpvo is far better at distance, but a good lpvo can get the job done in a pinch. I think thats fair. I run the atacr 4-16 and I am looking into a good lpvo for my do all rifle
Pretty much my assessment
L vid
It’s almost like there’s a brightness button. Fucking retard
Should of got the steel
He bought some Temu MBUS sights.
Did this on my bolt gun. Jammed my finger into the magnification lever trying to run the bolt fast lmao
Just take the back up irons off. Switch to a 45 degree red dot for 100 yards and in. A $1,500 Trijicon should last forever. But if it doesn’t you can remove and put on any other LPVO or fixed power optic and know your close in red dot is still good to go.
lmao optics are fragile no matter the brand can still shatter the glass
If there's no quick release mount for the optic, why bother with backups? It's gonna be a hell of a time ripping that optic off if it breaks, but also works without battery, so even less need? Would a 45/30° angled mount fix your finger jamming issue while also actually working?
@JulianLares I'd say you are off on a couple of premises there, the first being no qd on the optic mount. This one is quick release. Besides that though, I don't see backup iron sights as being emergency iron sights only; if you can access them in an emergency, all the better, but I'd want them on my rifle either way. And offset irons just aren't my thing; maybe that'll change some day, but that's my current preference.
Btw the Night Vision sound effect is also used in some songs
Maybe you can use a throw lever.
Nice ! Just need a can!
Maybe trt would fix ur problem
Throw lever.
Turn it down. Also, any red dot will look like that if you’re standing in an area with less light than the area you’re shooting into. That’s why they have manual adjustments.
That’s a min I’ll never get back.
the little things u find out about ur gear that r usually the most important. anything u can do to make it work better for u is a must. the faster and more accurate and more comfortable and stronger u can make it, do it! it could end up saving u. when i was active duty we would spend hours and hours trying out, modding and testing new gear to see what we liked the best and how it worked for us the best and that goes for ur weapons, accessories , gear and clothing.the more comfy u r in a bad situation the better ur gonna perform. test it good before u use it.
You got it backwards, the VCOG is the backup for the iron sights
@badenbreitenstein6367 Darn! I knew it had to be one of those two possibilities.
