- Welcome back! In this video the #getitdonecrew installs a full quarter panel on Bobby's 1962 Impala. This video was taken over the course of a few weekends. We previously installed the full floor pan. Up next is the drive side quarter panel, along with other misc sheet metal repairs. Stay tuned for more work. Dont forget to order your official Lonestar Lows t shirt, hoodie, or tumbler!
Thank you

Damm bro 300 bucks for a 62 that’s luck out there in Texas u can still find them cars for cheap prices here in cali it’s gotten freaking crazy price wise, good job on the work bro,
Great video ! Lets get this car together...you know for Bobbys sake ,lol Coming along very nice...
Bobby on suicide watch
Thats a sweet 62 cant wait to build mine
You guys are bad azzzz🔥🔥💪
Merc's were like the oppisite of Dodge. They spent the extra penny's to impress ..If you mess with old boats any, you will see where the coil wire got the better wiring boots to protect from moisture. Cool car. Great channel. Ty. The tranny dip stick tube may have a worn out O ring and that will make a mess. Good luck with it.
Bobby does have a lot of rust but a car from Upstate NY does not exist.
Lots of work but the car looks real good now for sure and all the real hard working is close to coming to a end.
It's great that you have a group of guys that are skilled and can work together and get things done.
Hey Ed. Just ate the last of the pickles 🙂
This is good !! I need to do the same to my 62 it’s like a blueprint of how to do it !! Good shit
Me too! 62 as well
Lots of progress for 8hrs, nice work!
Gotta start early and eat lunch fast...
Damn poor Bobby his look of disappointment in rust is genuine. Nothing like doing what you gotta do to get what you want. Rust rebuild in process. It’s going to look badass and built not bought.
Yessir. Not alot of folks can say it
Have you ever had a car with rotten drip rails? What's the best way to go about fixing them? When I pulled the trim off my pass side the rail was rotted bad. Do you have to fabricate new ones?
Stay tuned
@@lonestarlows already!
What are those trunk screws called that adjust left and right?
Man how are you guys gonna fix that rust on the roof structure under the drip rail?
That's a good question for bobby...
Its a damn shame that i cant upload a picture to this chat. I did my entire car hauler with POR-15. The trick is; do it step by step as directed by POR-15. Its a 3 step process. I tried a couple spots without doing the firsf 2 steps and the stuff peeled off about 2 months later.
The spots that i did as directed stayed and was hard like powdercoating.
The first step after grinding loose rust is to degrease the metal, then apply the prep coat before the actual product
So in total, you could call it 4 steps.
I live up in the rust belt...Ontario Canada
Nice you hit 9k subscribers
Yeah I guess I did. I remember when I got 100. ...a real small niche community. Probably make more money doing videos of how to brush teeth.
@@lonestarlows lol but your getting there how long have you been at it
I think 2018...I haven't really prompted at all. I started IG about a year ago. Just a backyard hack and a camera. I really like your booth setup
@@lonestarlows thank you I am a back yard hack too self taught I built the booth 2 years ago and the heat work’s awesome in the winter time
You could do a video on it, and on your air supply
Here in America you're lucky to have replace ment panels ready to buy not here in Australia All you have to Work with is mud bog nkie panel beaters felight6
Yes I understand. Also have a good local vendor
Will those trunk hinges fit a 64?
Not sure
I just started the video, how bad was the quarter? Could yall have just replaced the lower half? Or is it better to just replace the entire quarter either way?
Cancer! Remove half or all ? All of it.
Needs chemotherapy treatment!
Toss up. Depends how much filler you want
@@Anthony-to7cp you didn't read my question. Of course replace all the rust but what if only the lowest part of the quarter is rusted? Read! You just want to speak.
On this car he could have patched down low. We initially thought of cutting from the trim holes down, and covering the seam with the side molding. But in the end I'm glad we opted for the full quarter because it's going to be much less body work. The full quarter is going to block down super nice and easy
How bad was the OG qtrs?
Not terrible patch worthy....but this way is less body work
This looks like a small piece of hell to deal with lol😂😂😂😂 and what's 415????
Por 15
What Bobby going to do if he's out and it starts to rain with no wipers
Hang out window like ace ventura....
@@lonestarlows 🤣🤣
Where do you recommend to get 63 impala quarter panels
Dynacorn
Should be covering up that back glass cause sparks will melt into it
I agree, but he's doing all new glass
@@lonestarlows can’t wait till the next episode
Plenty to record on this heap lol
Bro...... my 64 is in about the same shape.
Not looking forward to it.
Crazy how good the can look until you find all the hidden rot and bondo.
Watch my rant video....
I know Bobby's pain. My 61 ragtop keeps finding new ways to surprise me. I started skipping meals just so I can put more money into it. Seems like it never ends.
Ok so good. Loose weight and have a 61. Win win right
@@lonestarlows If I don't die of old age before the car is done lol.
Original Parts Group!
Does guy in blue shirt even work? 😅
Ha
That’s a corrosion resistant coating do not strip it off.
It has to come off
