This looks incredible. I’ve been slow to give up Internal combustion with my MK7.5R but something like this has me thinking that I might be able to make the EV jump.
Have been pumping all the Korean reviews for past weeks in my brain, this review is pretty bad and unresearched. Multiple errors or missed names, or wrong statements or questions.
I don't get why some cars have a black painted area in front [and often back]. I'd much rather the actual body color all the way around. The black, to me, looks out of place.
I don't think anyone who buys this car with 641 horsepower would be much worried about the frunk as it doesn’t look like a “running errands” car to me.
I really like this car and all the features but I can't get around the looks. It's way too boxy for me... once they redesign the damn thing I'll buy one for sure.
Not a big fan of the powder blue nor the red strip. Of course those thing are fine as long as they're a delete option. In any event 50-60k for a hatch/crossover Hyundai is a lot of money. Especially when you can get a whole lot more for less (minus the speed) in an ICE vehicle with zero range anxieties.
So I like that it gives a loud nod to the Hyundai Excel of the 90's but honestly that's really where the thrills stop. I've seen both the ionic 5 and 6 plus the ev-6 out on the road where I was surprisingly underwhelmed! I guess that I was expecting more but maybe it's just too early in their initial inception to give such a firm judgment. But as it stands, aside from the excel callback and the electric range I'm just not overly impressed.

It's around 230 miles at most. Realistically 200. That's the trade off for lots of power unfortunately. I wish it had an even bigger 90-100kwh battery, but that would make it even heavier than it already is. Hopefully the future Ioniq 6N will have more range.

Still wish they’d shrink this thing by like 5%. It’s too big to be a hot hatch and too small to be as practical as other vehicles in the segment. I feel like the person buying the performance model would rather shed the size and weight.
Already tested charge to 80% in 18min so basically it charges when ice cars are cooling down the only issue from what I saw so far is tire wear because of weight
You can bet that frunks are going away pretty rapidly due to crash safety concerns. It makes sense, too; a car that has a 5 star frontal crash safety rating isn't anymore if someone is carrying their free weights set in the frunk for example. The EU is probably going to ban front trunks in the next few years, and once that happens they will pretty much disappear from all cars.
