@@danr1920 did you actually drive new CRV? The only acceptable one is Sport Touring. It is 38k MSRP, but dealers slap extra 3-4k of accessories and they sell every single one. How and why people are buying new CRVs is beyond me when GMC Terrain, Buick Envision and Chevy Equinox drive better, much more comfortable inside and new GM infotainment is best in class.
lmao how can u compare bolt euv to this?! they are not even close to the same ballpark. bolt euv was purposely made to be cheap. blazer was made to be nice. 2 completely different class of cars and its hilarious you would compare the 2. unless all you care about is how fast the car is and not that it is ugly af and miserable economy car.
What do you mean if they can’t keep up with the software? This won’t matter, it will only be a dealbreaker for the folks who tell themselves they need apple CarPlay/AA without ever giving the Blazer’s built in infotainment system a chance.
as someone who's had hands on GMs new system in the new colorado, I can comfortably tell you that apple carplay and andriod auto are USELESS for this car. GM's system is a modified version of android itself, so it is very intuitive and has things like a play store, voice integration, apple music, spotify, waze, etc already installed.
great. But why are they charging the car owner to use GM's preferred, in-house software? If GM's software is so great - it should be included with the price of the car - especially since this car is dramatically overpriced. It's almost a slap in the face at this price point.@@mal4951

Wow 600 horsey in the SuperSport version? Oh my God! That's insane! Yeah, it does look pretty good in blue. The interior of the EV RS looks so much better than the gasoline Blazer RS. I mean its night and day. I notice too, the A/C vents are not painted red. That's a good thing. Damn nice seats too! 5,000 pounds is pretty darn heavy, but batteries weigh a bunch. I wonder if there is a traction control thing going on with that acceleration test being so slow. Oh well, you can't race a Tesla with that Blazer. You will need to do that with the SS version. LOL
Until there are chargers everywhere that are reliable and can rival filling your tank in 5-15 mins no way I'd own one. I take road trips a lot and I have a 23' Blazer and driving on 2 lane highways in KS through small towns for hundreds of miles no EV chargers in sight I can tell you it will take at lest 10-20 years for EV's to even be close to ICE vehicles and for the infrastructure to be there to handle the volume of people charging. Just imagine charging stations along the interstates of this country with 100+ chargers since people have to sit and wait for 30 mins to an hour to charge.
@@DJAJ101you live in the middle of nowhere. People have been living driving Teslas for years now, no issues. Also most people commute for less than 30 miles per day, they charge at home overnight. EVs are even more convenient since you never have to stop for gas.

Yikes is all I have to say, especially at the end I hear compromise after compromise compared to the ICE Blazer. As someone who owns the 23' Blazer I still find myself scratching my head why I would want this thing especially at the price. I take road trips and the last thing I want to do is drive an hour outta my way to spend 30 mins to an hour to "charge up". Maybe there are tons of EV enthusiasts who will buy this vehicle but till charging time and the ease of charging rivals filling up a tank in 5-10 mins or less I will never own an EV or consider it to be "better" than ICE vehicles. Especially at that price since the batteries will have to be replaced and no one wants to know how expensive that will be when the day comes! Also I've heard towing in EV trucks takes the range down tremendously compared to ICE trucks so I can't imagine towing with this thing will be something anyone wants to do unless it's every once in a while at best.
This looks more upscale to me than the Acura ZDX, especially the interior and I imagine this Blazer RS will be much cheaper than a Type S. Chevrolet knocked the Blazer EV out of the park! I’m not sure many folks understand how the infotainment system works, so many aren’t even willing to give it a try. If you’re paying attention then you’d know this vehicle doesn’t need apple CarPlay. The massive 17-inch touchscreen is beautiful and the software behind it is next level. It looks premium and certainly on the level to compete with the Tesla Model Y, which also does not offer apple CarPlay.
*gm* has so many haters. People wish for this brand to fail and when they put out amazing products like this and the Lyriq folks just *look* for whatever they can complain about and they’ll make whatever _that_ is an issue. Like the charge port door being electronically assisted on the Blazer, or the electric assisted doors on the Lyriq. It never fails. This is an amazing offering from Chevrolet for this to be part of the first generation Ultium EVs. Their designs have not only been very upscale both inside and out, but they’re all uniquely styled and look like nothing else your money can buy you. Then you drive it and realize *gm’s* done all their homework with the software and Google based system as well as the build quality, materials, and platform. I, for one, am genuinely impressed by the new Chevy Blazer EV. Can’t wait to test drive an AWD Lyriq and the Blazer SS.
Absolutely agree. Great design, long range, new tech. The only thing is Lyriq is almost the same price and Prologue is going to be much cheaper. To me pricing is the only thing they had missed.

Electric chargeport doors are a waste. One more thing to break. My Model 3 one broke on a roadtrip and I had to break the off the door to finish my trip. My Volt was the manual push to release and worked just fine.
@x7wolverines7x that was my reaction at first. But, given the difficulties Apple CarPlay has interacting with some vehicles (including my new Mercedes), I would welcome a well-executed, native, google-based interface.

chevy gave me this as a loaner vehicle while my volt gets warranty repair. and i love this car! it is absolutely beautiful. i wish the AWD version came with sunroof i dont understand why it dont. the reasons why im going to wait a little while before buying one is: super cruise not yet available? the SS isnt going to cost much more sunroof not available in awd model and most of all: interest rates are too damn high!!! plus i still love my volt. so ill wait for interest rates to go down and for them to sort out the issues but the blazer is def top of my list for new car to get.
I wish chevy would make a plug-in hybrid version of this car. that would be the absolute best seller in the country if they made this car exactly the same as a plug-in hybrid with 60+ miles EV range for around 50k. they would probably come out as the top selling car in the country. the biggest mistake for them was to get rid of the chevy volt. voltec was their future. now toyota is the only one to do it and they cant make enough RAV4 Primes.
The question becomes: Why get this over a Tesla Model Y? Musk has gotten prices down to $44k-52k, while the Blazer STARTS at $56k. Tesla offers the same range, more cargo space, more speed and power, and a national supercharging network. Cheaper, faster, roomier and more convenient to use. That's a winning formula.
I agree with everything you say, but I like the interior and screens in the Blazer. I wish Teslas had nicer interiors with real leather. At this point in history, you still gotta go with Tesla unless this is just a second vehicle for a run around town.
i drive my moms model y pretty frequently and would 100% take the blazer over the Y. Yes, the Y is faster and has better space but.. oh my GOD the interior is honestly awful compared to the blazer. Cheap plastics falling apart, panels that look like they dont even fit the car, excessive rattling from the doors, etc. And the Model Y doesn't offer vent. seats, ambient lighting, an opening pano roof, no sunshade, no play store, no rear heated seat buttons (you'll have to ask the driver), tiny, tiny steering wheel, turn signal stalks that are the worst in the business, etc. And all this is before we talk about the superior materials on the blazer.
This has beret fit finish and build quality and many more comforts for the price instead of ELONS 330 mile lie for the model Y. You’re lucky to get 250-270 on the Y and that’s if it’s not really cold or hot or you have the air conditioning on.
Wow, to me the front of the LT looks better than the more expensive models. I'm not a fan of black panels that look like a radiator grille on an EV. Love the air vents and HVAC buttons. An opening sun roof on an EV is very rare, love that. Too bad you can't get it on the dual motor.
Has there ever been a car that you have said didn't have a good or solid sounding thunk? Just curious cause if every car you say it's good... Then it's really not a necessary review point anymore.
My SIL brought home a 2024 Blazer EV RS on a test drive today. The dash showed "Service High Voltage System", "Acceleration Limited", and "Turtle Mode". Wouldn't charge on her home EVSE, although it knew it was plugged-in. $49k after discounts, MSRP $60k. Not much in the way of options and no sunroof. Must do better on price, and the salesdude is ignorant about EVs.
But does it do messages via voice both ways? and Apple Music/podcasts? I use both of those every single day so heavily that I’m sadly tethered to Apple until I die
This has the Google OS just like the Honda Accord Touring which is way better than Android Auto. This car is nice and is actually better looking than the ZDX imo and I'm an Acura/Honda fanboy. I would get the SS trim though.
How is it better? It's a paid subscription (you pre-pay for a few years when you buy the car), it's harder to share (forget about renting a car with this system), and I can't proactively set maps/etc up. With my iPhone, if I'm traveling I just plug the address in on my way to the garage and plug the phone in. Boom, done. CarPlay pops up with the route ready. No nonsense accounts/subscription/etc. Want to own this thing past 5 years? Get ready to pay $80/mo for what used to be free.
@@shanecoleman2937 it was my understanding that there isn't a fee to just use the OS on the car. @@volcalstone That's kind of a solution, phone hotspots are not only limited, but their bandwidth is throttled. There will be a data fee for the system. GM will be charging for all vehicles. The OS is Chevy - and they plan to charge a monthly fee to use it sooner rather than later. No Apple Car Play or Android Auto like in the Ford models. GM says they are unsafe, but won't remove it from the gas models which means they don't really believe that - they just want the new revenue screen for you to use your electric vehicle. Their OS will tell you where charging stations are for example so if you don't pay for it, you won't know where to charge your car if you drive outside your region. Good luck with that Chevy. Tesla does not charge for their OS, only GM seems to plan for this.
Currently have the Blazer SS on pre-order but I'll probably be looking elsewhere. Very disappointed with the pricing as when the pre-orders began, SS pricing was supposed to start around $60K. All in an SS is probably gonna be around $72-74K and that's being generous if they only charge like $5K for Super Cruise. Also I'm happy they've improved on there infotainment systems, but a true show of having a better product is also offering what was available to be compared. It's all BS marketing for locking you into paying them for what you could get for free before when the trial runs out. After a couple years, I'll have to pay you to put navigation on the display or be forced to have a 17 inch blank space and go back to using my phone on my windshield...
Totally agree with you with the high pricing. My dad has the lyric and the software is extremely glitchy and poorly designed. The good thing is we use CarPlay 99% of the time. The subscription ran out and we didn’t even notice because we don’t ever use that crappy system
It's 8 years Free for Google Maps and Google Assistant, as well as other audio apps. It's right on the vehicles window sticker. Carplay is overrated.

Like EVs or not (I’m not totally sold), you can’t argue with the compactness and simplicity of the motors. It’s quite amazing that you can get so much power and torque from relatively tiny units.
What’s the point of that large screen if your camera only takes up a quarter of it. I understand aspect ratio but I’m sure they could have done better than that.
I love EV’s but the pricing is RIDICULOUS at least as of right now. 63 grand for a Blazer is unbelievable. Why I bought a new Subaru for $25k, actually affordable and it was the last crosstrek with a manual so it makes it kinda fun, is slow up in the mountains though
Glad everyone is scared of EV’s, I just ordered a 24 Blazer RS AWD with adaptive cruise! Wish I could have gotten supercruise but not yet available as I needed a bigger car than my Bolt and due to EV phobia I got about $20K off!
Yes, eventually you'll have to pay to keep the Google integration working. They just aren't answering yet on how long until they start charging. @@bahamatodd Ok. That’s not too bad then. I usually keep my cars more than 10 years. There was also the issue with OnStar where it stopped working because the cars’ 3G radio became obsolete when the cell carriers all moved to 5G. 5G should stick around for more than a decade.
Okay, you" reviewers" really need to grow up at this point. Anything that is under 7 seconds is plenty quick. I don't know what you're going to do. Speed into the truck in front of you going 0 to 60 in 1 second? It's just crazy now that you guys go crazy over this kind of stuff. Let it go 5 seconds average. 0 to 60 is still sports car like territory. Why y'all making issues about that? It sounds so stupid
Is was nice that it didn’t breakdown on you while filming this review. From what I’ve read early adopters are going through software glitch hell. It’s so bad Chevy has halted sales! If they haven’t figured out the software upon mass release, what else have they rushed?!? Perhaps I’m experiencing schadenfreude for them dumping Apple CarPlay because they think it’s “unsafe”. I guess GM feels that their software is ultimately safer because it bricks their vehicle so you can’t drive it to even get in an accident. Chevy: Built “Like a Rock” … or should I say “Like a Brick!”
Hopefully they fixed the charging curve for DCFC over its cousin the Cadillac Lyriq. Car is not cutting edge in either software or user experience and then lack of up front storage. What gives Chevy. . Then the native system will mean a subscription service once one decides to not renew much of the system will become useless and without the option for CarPlay to fall back on . And then there is elephant in the room, Price is a deal breaker. GM gave lots of promises for EV future, and like there prior promises given but promises not delivered.
I remember when 5.9 seconds zero to 60 was considered fast. But in the EV world it's not really. To be fair the base Tesla Model Y is rated at 6.6 seconds.
Naw it's slow for the money , back in the day you didn't have to pay 50k for a sub 6 second 0-60, now add terrible range and the car will be totaled when that battery goes bad
I really hope GM puts the 6.2 Corvette motor in the 2025/2026 Blazer I just can’t do an EV no offense but I’d rather walk a 1000 miles than buy an EV!!!
As for the average acceleration, I’m sure they’ll offer something like the brand-new Cadillac LYRIQ “Velocity Upgrade”. Buy more power right on the screen. Another revenue source. Mary Barra implied Equinox/Silverado EVs were delayed due to software work that will make them more profitable. Gotta be working on more in-car purchases. More Power, more features, etc…
Do you get GPS without signing up for a monthly plan? Is the GPS different once you connect your phone? Do they have one pedal driving like the Bolt EUV,.. where you can pull stalk to get extra hard slowdown without using brakes?

It's a great looking vehicle and it has a nicer interior. Last, the EV Blazer is a ground up design. Why doesn't it have a frunk? That could be a deal breaker for a lot of people. Anyway, to each their own. For me it's a no brainer, the LYRIQ, all day long. Cheers!!!
Frunk’s are overrated. Never really use mine, and would rather they have more interior space.
@EnriqueThiele Blazer EV was not removed from production. They have a temporary stop sale to solve some software issues.
995k so close! 🍾
$63,000 is fairly reasonable? Pricing of EVs is really holding sales back for would be customers interested in trying out EVs for sure.
Cadillac Lyriq version is 66k. Why would anyone get a Blazer?
A nice Honda CR-V ice is in the $30's. The Blazer is a rich persons second car. Did Edmunds or some tester have huge list of problems.
@@danr1920 did you actually drive new CRV? The only acceptable one is Sport Touring. It is 38k MSRP, but dealers slap extra 3-4k of accessories and they sell every single one. I test drove new CRV and it is horrible. It lost Honda sporty ride, it reminded me of an older Toyota handling. Very cheap inside, infotainment is straight from 1990’s. How and why people are buying new CRVs is beyond me when GMC Terrain, Buick Envision and Chevy Equinox drive better, much more comfortable inside and new GM infotainment is best in class.

No apple carplay/android auto support is going to be a dealbreaker. Especially if GM can't keep up with the infotainment software
Plus, you'll have to pay for subscriptions through GM if you're going to use their system to find charge locations.
@@mal4951 it’s insane when you think about it, can’t wait to tell my kids manufacturers’ in-house infotainment systems were such let downs at one point that Americans absolutely refused to buy a new vehicle if I didn’t come with Apple’s CarPlay/AA.

Great review😀
Dont say ok Google..... LOL, I had to cancel all mine.... anyway that system looks very fast. Just wish the AWD had more power and range, whether needed or not... It is a sleek looking car for sure!
If Google were a serious company they’d figure out how to prevent “Hey Google” on UA-cam videos from triggering devices by inserting a brief high frequency preamble. But, it’s Google, so Jank in = Jank out.
I have the blazer rs, I wish my interior was like this one
Yay, another EV that may be delivered in years. I've been on the Lyriq preorder list for almost 2 years.
LOL
When he says 245 miles is too far to go without charging... That's what kills it for me. These cars need far more range.
Just imagine charging stations along the interstates of this country with 100+ chargers since people have to sit and wait for 30 mins to an hour to charge.
agreed, this push for EVs just seems the epitome of cart before the horse.
@@DJAJ101
@@DJAJ101you live in the middle of nowhere. People have been living driving Teslas for years now, no issues. Also most people commute for less than 30 miles per day, they charge at home overnight. EVs are even more convenient since you never have to stop for gas.

Might wanna grow a brain and refer to everyone instead of being biased and only talking about half the population. I know how stupid you are though considering you said nothing about my point that was it takes minutes to fill up a tank on a road trip and if it’s snowing and freezing cold sounds like a great time sitting there for an hour waiting for your EV to charge doesn’t it? It seems like a lot of you want a car for free or for very little money, heck even gas cars aren’t cheap.
There is a big difference between affordable and pricey. If this car maxed at about $50k I'd have no problem but for a first-generation vehicle with limited range, I think it could be priced more competitively. @@rogermartinez78
Honda Prolouge shares the same platform as the blazer
@@carljohnson7 that’s because *gm* builds the Honda Prologue and ZDX for Acura.

No worries EVs are just a phase. There is not enough lithium on the planet for these to be sustainable.
@@matthewflakes1481I guess all types of transportation methods are “phases”. But you do have a point. Fortunately, engineers and scientists are smart enough to work with other less scarce materials. Lithium just happened to be a mature enough tech due to being used in consumer electronics. Sodium ion is one such example that will leapfrog lithium.
Electric chargeport doors are a waste. One more thing to break. My Model 3 one broke on a roadtrip and I had to break the off the door to finish my trip. My Volt was the manual push to release and worked just fine.
Agree, just use a door that can easily be open and closed by hand. Too much unnecessary complexity with that design.
Insane Chevrolet Blazer EV I can buy Sofyan.
NO CARPLAY NO DEAL
@x7wolverines7x that was my reaction at first. But, given the difficulties Apple CarPlay has interacting with some vehicles (including my new Mercedes), I would welcome a well-executed, native, google-based interface.
Everything else looks great, but the removal of CarPlay is a complete and total dealbreaker for me. Was looking at the Silverado EV, I'll just get the F150 Lightning instead when they switch to NACS.
Also, I hate that it wasn't called out that GM Is firmly *not* giving anything back. They're taking a better, free, interface away and replacing it with an inferior version that's paid.
How is mirroring you phone screen to use janky apps that were never designed for cars better than getting a UI designed for use while driving?
@@TroySavary The wording of your question isn't honest.
The apps aren't janky and the UI for an app, through CarPlay is quite literally designed for use while driving.

Why does gm hate rear window visibility? That rear window is tiny based on that mini rear wiper. I drive a 10th gen impala, and even with a big rear window, the design allows very poor rear visibility. Edit: yes this has the rear view camera, but I've driven vehicles with it and for just a quick glance, it made me feel kinda dizzy. Still prefer a normal mirror for just quick-checking

chevy gave me this as a loaner vehicle while my volt gets warranty repair. and i love this car! it is absolutely beautiful. i wish the AWD version came with sunroof i dont understand why it dont.
the reasons why im going to wait a little while before buying one is:
super cruise not yet available?
the SS isnt going to cost much more
sunroof not available in awd model
and most of all: interest rates are too damn high!!! plus i still love my volt. so ill wait for interest rates to go down and for them to sort out the issues but the blazer is def top of my list for new car to get.
@@mal4951 Interesting. What about charging?
The Blazer is wider. Better hip and shoulder room, especially with 3 seated on the rear. Plus GM EVs actually tend to exceed their range ratings.

Wow, to me the front of the LT looks better than the more expensive models. I'm not a fan of black panels that look like a radiator grille on an EV. Love the air vents and HVAC buttons. An opening sun roof on an EV is very rare, love that. Too bad you can't get it on the dual motor.

But does it do messages via voice both ways? and Apple Music/podcasts? I use both of those every single day so heavily that I’m sadly tethered to Apple until I die
They might add Apple Music and Podcasts because they did that in Tesla’s system. Until then they tell you to use Bluetooth or move to Spotify.
My understanding is It has access to apps on the google play store, and Apple Music is on there.
Nice car and video. Greetings from El Salvador
Also You can still tether your Car to your phone for most of the data needs. Lyriq owners also found you can download and save off-line maps to the vehicle. You don't need a data connection.
Carplay is overrated.

What’s the point of that large screen if your camera only takes up a quarter of it. I understand aspect ratio but I’m sure they could have done better than that.
All that wheelbase and length but no frunk, limited cargo space and adequate rear seating space. Where did the space go?
I love EV’s but the pricing is RIDICULOUS at least as of right now. 63 grand for a Blazer is unbelievable.
Why I bought a new Subaru for $25k, actually affordable and it was the last crosstrek with a manual so it makes it kinda fun, is slow up in the mountains though

If this doesn’t have AA or CarPlay via your phone, do you need to set up a separate data plan for the car itself for navigation and Spotify?
Yes, eventually you'll have to pay to keep the Google integration working. They just aren't answering yet on how long until they start charging. Okay, you" reviewers" really need to grow up at this point. Anything that is under 7 seconds is plenty quick. I don't know what you're going to do.

Not having car play will be a no go for me. I don’t need another extra monthly charge for data.
What's the difference between the Blazer EV and the Equinox EV?
Blazer is larger. Equinox is more similar in size to a Mach E or Ioniq 5.
Yes on both. Just log on to your Google account
