Hate Google Plus No one mentioned the heroic? He means that it's a difficult strike in general but with the burn mods it's pretty easy, just time consuming.
The easiest way to do it is to go through the door on the left when you are in that two door are to the boss. one leading forward and on leading left. taking the left door will allow you to run into a little room with all your fireteam members. Then after getting into the room which is level with omnigul. One person will sit on the rocks behind the wall and constantly revives the two other teammates who are just blasting him. Remember they have to be close enough to you to be revived if they are not things could get ugly. Also have the two shooters also revive each other, the guy in the corner is a failsafe. Hope this helps.
The boss fight is actually challenging pretty than that it's easy... Simply the room kind of boxes in before the boss fight stay in that room, precision shooting and you got it!
Datto, me some friends found another chest where there are two ledges in the abyss near the ninth and twelfth lantern. If you either get there very quickly or without using any lanterns, it will spawn randomly in one of two locations.
I'm so freaking jealous of all the guys saying they got exotics from that first chest. I opened it two times, once with a group of six and once solo. Got only materials. Did VoG two times this week as well, only got materials and ships while several people in the group got exotics. Nightfall was lame as well with coins and a gun that I already had. Destiny trolled me badly this week.
Spoke to a member of my team, who was adamant there was a chest on the right side of the Abyss as well. He had to stand on another member's shoulders to be able to jump high enough to get to it, which makes me think there's a better way of getting to it. I wasn't able to join the raid myself that time, so I can't confirm it, but it's worth checking out I suppose. So, possible location: right side of the Abyss, somewhere high up.
There is another chest I found randomly, when you are following along the path of lamps to turn on its in the middle of the map heading towards the end. It will be on the far right side of the map and there will be a door. Either walk up to it and wait or pull out your ghost and it will open.
I got so lucky last night....got a 331 Patience and Time on the nightfall, then I got another one when we opened the first chest on Crota's End. money!
You don't have to pull out your ghost to reopen the second chest door. I've been the runner multiple times (invisibility makes it a complete joke), and I've never pulled out my ghost but the door has still opened. Just thought I would share.
the first chest is excellent as it creates hope for the casual player they just need to log in once a week and get the loot in the first chest and hopefully they will get an exotic i don't have an exotic yet i've got no friends who have destiny on my console so obviously i play solo i haven't done VoG and strange coins are difficult for me to get but this could be a game changer and i really don't want bungie to patch it
I'm a level 27, and I was able to run to this chest with only a few stacks of Darkness. Got an Ice Breaker and two Radiant Energy. I HIGHLY recommend hitting this chest as soon as you unlock Crota's End, since you can get some sweet gear from it without having to run any tough raids. I do agree though, this should be nerfed. Getting an Exotic that easily seems a bit cheap :P
Jake Cotton Not that hard if you have a titan in your team. Just have him puts up the bubble (blessing of light) and it will regen health for anyone who passes through it. That's what I have been doing for myself. I never took the chalice from my team mate throughout the whole run, I just used my babble - which wasn't needed too often anyway.
The second chest, the theory of the door closing on the second shreiker has been proven to be false. There is a 1:30 overall timer which gets reduced drastically if you kill the exploding thralls
I believe I found a third, but it was pitch black and I literally just accidentally slid down the side of a hill and landed right in front of the chest. I am going to try and recreate it and record it eventually
If people die after the second shrieker but someone makes it through and the door closes if you wait a little bit the door will reopen and everyone can grab the chest.
There's a chest somewhere in the dark area when you are going lamp to lamp, i couldnt make it there without dying and i dont know where it is. But, there is a chest somewhere in the lamp area

Datto should i buy the one way ticket which is a rocket launcher that does solar damage it starts off with 1 rocket but can be upgraded to 2 rockets (dark below rocket launcher)
Does anyone else think it would be cool if at some point during the day or week the city and traveler came under attack by Fallen, Vex, Hive and Cabal and you with 30 give or take other people had to go defend it? It would be hard and would take some time instead of five minutes. It would be a full out war and you could get some sweet rewards if you complete it. Like it?
I've thought about that before. Whenever Bungie is done making more expansions make one more level with matchmaking and like 10-30 guardians defending the tower from a raid from all of the groups of bad guys(for lack of a better term).
Yeah that basically all you can do. Also, I highly advise trading all the energy you get in for shards at Eris since you will need all the shards you can get if you ever hope to get 32.
I dont understand how you can do enough damage to get his shield to come down by yourself. No matter what I do, it doesnt go down at all. 3 Hezen vengance rockets, 365 Ice Breakers and a grenade and his shield doenst go below half.
I'd say Ruin Wings, they're badass looking, and heavy ammo drops everywhere. Wouldnt say the Glasshouse's bonus is as good, I got both so you can take it from me.
Element9300 Yeah, forgot to mention that the Glasshouse's bonus is good for PvP. I think Ruin Wings are useless in PvP, I don't think I've ever gotten more than the usual amount of ammo from a heavy ammo crate when wearing the Ruin Wings.
Dirachus having just kicked crotas ass with glasshouse equipped the extra long weapons of light was handy, lets you stay out of the bubble and aannihilate the ogres. Ill start levelling up ruin wings now that glasshouse is done. Really dont like the strength roll on ruin, i think thats my biggest issue, intellect on glasshouse so much better imo.
ImpatientTurtle Yeah, intellect is way better than strength in most situations. But, with Ruin Wings I always had heavy ammo for my Gjallarhorn to take down Crota's shields. Both work perfectly fine for boss battles.

Given all the "Solo 1st raid chest" videos that are popping up on youtube, I'd have to almost believe Bungie is going to patch it to give only materials or something worse than it currently does.
But you still need to be a high level and everyone can get it? its giving no advantage to people other then being loot. yes you can get to it solo but everyone who can do the raid can do that aswell... its a zero advantage chest. Best way to patch would be to make it so you need 6 people to open the bridge down to the raid.

Given their track record with the loot caves, taking away material trade for marks, etc. it just wouldn't surprise me in the least if they did it. I personally don't have any issue with it.

The easiest way to get the first chest is just check the closest room, and if it didn't spawn there, then wipe and look again until it's in the closest room.
This raid has less chests, less teamwork involved, and less interesting "filler" puzzles (like Gorgon's Labyrinth, jump maze, etc). Hell, you can do the first half by yourself. Can't wait for Hard mode so I can solo the bitch for more gear.
The Devil You Don't is crap... the only time I MIGHT use it over The Devil You Know would be if it had extended mag or field scout and with that upgrade it had at least 9 shots.

Datto you should do a guide to The Will of Crota Strike Because that is by far the Hardest Strike to do with all the NightFall modifiers.
It's easier and quicker on Nightfall for me because of the burn modifier. The boss took much longer to kill without the burn modifier.

Datto, I think both Chests give the same loot pool. Ive had raid teams get exotics from both.
Datto on other channels people have been seen with the new exotic rocket launcher, and raid gear as well as the materials

When someone gets into the doorway on the second chest, you don't have to use your ghost, it opens on its own after a few seconds.
The shrieker is the third chest... You have 2 chest in the beginning part with the thrals. Took me 8 hours but ive got 3 chests:)
there is a switch inside the door-room with the second chest to open that door from the inside ;)

An alternative tactic is the runner be a hunter. Have them go invisible then start running. Might make it easier for your runner

I have both as well and I would say Ruin Wings for the Heavy Ammo drop buff. In PvP I would go with Glasshouse for the extra blessing timer.
