So, basically, the response that was sent from the other side of the Vesper Anomaly was just basically saying “seems to be working.” I wonder if that says anything about who or what may be responding, but idk.
Thanks for pointing that out I noticed that as well but I only knew this info bc if the recent Netflix anime version of terminator there's a situation in the show that explores this same premise
The Aion Initiative likely refers to the reason for the stations creation in the first place. Clovis made 12 similar stations across our solar system which were designed to restart humanity in the case of an extinction level event. In the Legacy lore book from season of the worthy Ana uncovers information about one of these stations in Uranus' obit named Caelus. She visits this station which is described very much how Vesper Station appears with exo bodies in white pools along it. It is revealed that these Exo bodies were made to use modified copies of Rasputin's mind as station operators called "Echos" they would take care of embyros to reseed humanity. One of these service Exos was reset many times by some kind of foreign energy similar to what we had on Vesper causing it to become corrupted which the Exo describes as Thunder. The name Aion is from the god Aion who was a deity associated with the cycle of time and that future is a returning version of the past. Aka Eternity and Eternal life. It could also refer to "Age" or Golden Age. My theory on the anomaly and entity is that its a portal to an anti dimension which is the opposite to ours maybe one where there is darkness instead of light but this makes their versions of lightbearers as darkbearers like how Elsie's universe fell to darkness. So the Lightning is the darkness version of Arc energy and this universe has a Dark Traveller. The entity which controlled Atraks was her Dark counterpart like Dark Multiverse in DC comics.
That sounds exactly like Final Fantasy 14's story in the expansion Shadowbringers. We find another star or planet that's been flooded with light which contrasts another star/planet that was flooded with darkness. Expanding on the themes of balance and that light and darkness aren't inherently good or bad.
I'm sure this won't change any perspective thoughts or ideas, but recently Bungie said that Destiny: Rising was supposed to be set in another "alternate universe", which leads to the idea of this being plausible. Personally, I like this alt. universe of "Anti-us" reaching through to connect. And it's not far off that we pull weapons/items/people from different timelines and realities all the time, so there's bound to be some connection there.

When I think we couldn't possibly find any more of Clovis' dubious experiments, we find another skeleton hiding in his closet. That guy is the worst, and I believe he still has more dirty tricks under his sleeve. Something that still bugs me to this day is why the Darkness statue we found inside the Morning Star is different from the others we have seen, this one seems to be more "alive", its color is more reddish that the others, its whispering sounds kinda different, its chest moves slightly like if it was breathing, and seems to have some kind of "force field" around it (the ice gathered around it like it was over an invisible sphere)
I feel like this is one of those things that'll probably get retconned for how different a lot of stuff was handled back then when the lore was getting setup compared to what we eventually got in more recent times.
It could be as simple as Bungie changing their mind on how things look. The Pyramids went from having a clean glossy black interior to whatever the hell we have now that just looks like dark pavement. I'd like to know where the statue came from, each Pyramid had at least one as far as I'm aware. But for some reason Clovis has one, they have never said why, and there's another one isolated in the Black Garden.
the one statue at the end of garden of salvation had a force field too, tree roots grew around it. But I definitely think that the statues original purpose was retconned. Instead of dissenters, it probably was the representation of the winnower/veiled person.
iin theory, clarity, the statue that is in the deepstone crypt was a dissenter of the witness. so maybe it was trying to find a way to reach something that could beat the witness. aka the vex, something more ancient than the witness

I genuinely believe it is. Remember how stasis was the color opposite of solar, strand was the color opposite of void, well orange is the opposite color of arc, it’s the same color as in Vow, and it’s literally referred to as arc energy but the wrong color in the dungeon
Solar represents absolute energy, stasis represents the absolute absence of energy, void represents the fabric of space, strand represents the fabric of consciousness, arc is about the forces that hold the universe together (magnetic fields, electrons, etc), and this new energy seems to have the power to bind consciousnesses together, which sounds exactly like the darkness equivalent of arc. On top of that, like mentioned in the video, this energy runs through machines, just like arc energy does.

Since the Anomaly definitely isn't Vex (would've been a Glassway situation if it was) or Darkness (because the energy isn't Resonance), I'm leaning towards this being something kind of new. If what the dev said about eldritch forces linking back to the Dreadnought applies to Vesper's Host (probably does, Spire of the Watcher proves dungeons can carry a lot of narrative foreshadowing), I would guess the virus that unified the Eliksni and built the Anomaly is Hive (or Taox-related) in origin. The VS Tech Sledge lore tab mentioned meteors like "fiery glints in the dark", which makes some sense given the Hive's use of seeders as preludes to invasion, their history with viral language (Savathun's Song), mind control (Wrathborn), the messy cable architecture (those wires remind me of Hive growths) and gives an explanation for why the anomaly is the color of fire (same energy as the virus-bearing meteor?)
The lore from Mask of Bakris tells us that Atrak's sanity was already fraying after her first Exo conversion due to Dissociative Exomind Rejection, something that was only fixed by imitating biological needs in the Exobody. Replicating herself many times in a flawed body and fraying mind probably opened her up to whatever corruption came from the anomaly.

This was a proposition by Spider (explained when you grab the quest from him). He sent one of his agents there and lost contact. Stuff happened and now we're his desperate measures. This has nothing to do with any other parties, lest we betray the trust of Spider and tell others.
Vesper host's lore actually cooked so hard. I want to share my theory on why we found an Icebreaker there. So obviously this is a crazy threat that appears Eldritch. Its also given that clovis had some crazy technology hidden away. In Icebreakers lore it says it was a golden age weapon that defied physics because it used some type of paracausal power from the traveler. The weapon shoots bursts that erupts down the barrel, flames billowing out its vents, leaving a trail of pure solar destruction. the burst is so strong and pure, it sets everything aflame a hundred meters out with the same burning spite as if it were point blank. scientists died from nuclear explosions making this weapon. it is described as harnessing a caged beast of solar hatred. it needed to have a harness that "withstood all the beats thrashings." The vanguard shut down the process because of obvious human rights violations, it had a 99% failure rate and only one scientist lived to make a working one. When offered to the guardians, the vanguard originally denied it but remembered that we considered death an occupational hazard. The company ironically named it "Icebreaker" for the rifle's love of overkill. "It truly harnessed elemental power of the sun and allowed the operator full view of a tortorous, solar rupture." Its a true legacy of the golden age. I'm guessing a fallen grabbed an icebreaker from Clovis and tried to take out this threat before they were hypnotized and turned to a zombie by whatever this thing is on the other side. It's truly one of the most powerful weapons of all time.
I agree with the premise that the Winnower simply 'is' - from my knowledge it has already played its hand by becoming a law, and thus cannot directly intervene in the Game. Not by itself. Gardener however, has a drone (Traveller) that can affect the Game. Though the response message from the gate - and the gate's appearance - would imply a Vex or Vex-related authority presence; the Echo of Command the Conductor possesses and the altered Choral Vex may have inadvertently permeated aspects of their distinctiveness, which will result in more radically diverse Vex with nuance we've never encountered from them before. So perhaps something new and Vex is in the works in this other impossible space? Could this be another proto-Garden scape, like the Black Garden? It'd make sense if a new archetype of Vex intelligence capable of affecting things with electrical neural signals (or equivalent; see Atracks, Eliksni; this includes humans) was made partly out of code from Clovis who wanted what amounts to a Vex C-prompt he could think into. The more nightmarish possibility is Vex-crafted EXOs emulating every race; brassy mimicries of humans, Eliksni, Cabal, Hive even, seeing if their shapes could fit into the established structures, patterns, and configurations of the Vex collective; they have knowledge and the means, and Clovis is relatively inert. This means it is only a matter of time until the Crypt is compromised by the Vex should they or their Chroal subgroup see it all as worth grabbing.
Vespers host is such a dope raid. It’s even better with its lore! Hopefully one day we’re able to venture into the anomaly and see what’s on the other side.
I'm most interested on what the Stoneworm protocols and the Aion Initiative are. From the dialogue, I can guess that they are AI systems like Rasputin and Soteria, but how much like them? As far as I know, this is the only reference to them as I can't find anything about them on the wiki or Ishtar Collective. Really interested in learning more about them, maybe even meeting them.
How did they not bring back pocket Infinity here? Possible vex lore ties, clovis bray to match the gun's visual theme. A boss that copied itself like PI copied ammo. COME ON MAN
Considering there is some left over data stuff(things that refer to Icebreaker as a pass weapon, and stuff tying it to 10th anniversary content) that shows how Ice Breaker was not even supposed to be tied to the dungeon originally, it does make you wonder what we could've originally got for an exotic .
Ice breaker was originally supposed to be the season pass weapon. There is still a triumph(challenge?) related to your guardian rank that requires ice breaker kills and mention season pass weapons. Also, given that a lot of season pass weapons have been reprised weapons from D1 it makes sense.
I really do hope it has nothing to do with A-113/Cocytus, I feel like it's something that is just too good to get demystified and over explained. Ecdysis and Dust are some of my all time favorite lore books and I like when the game still had some intrigue to it. I also hate how they decided to call this the Anomaly when we already have something referred to as that.
To my knowledge it was never confirmed to be the Witness that communicated with Clovis to create the portal for the Vex. In my opinion it’s likely the Winnower itself that got him to do it
9:39 in the video. The amount of dust swirling around the portal makes me wonder if it is the nine….. I don’t remember Bungie putting a lot of dust around the other space areas before
I did some digging apperantly vesper means evening star and is associated with the goddes venus. Possibly something to do with Venus or the ishtar collective. Also ishtar is the mesopotamian goddes of love and war. Edit: did even more digging , this no doubt has a lot to do with greek mythology
Maybe the portal leads to a Vex world? If we continue with the naming scheme, in particular Greek mythology, then we can assume the Vex is in play, with names such as Hydra, Minotaur, etc.
I think it is quite possible that the onboard AI Astraea was responsible for these cables. This would explain the first room, in which you can perceive three Vex brains, each housed in containers, one of which is destroyed and instead of a brain, you see a confused mass of cables. To summarize my theory: Astraea used the Vex brain to prevent the activation of the 'anomaly.' In short: Clovis Bray is the MVP in the Destiny universe. He managed to program matter (in this case, cables) using a Vex brain.
In the lore entries, it’s also mentioned that a "dreg" has better cable management than the one who caused this cablemess, which should exclude all other Fallen houses, whether corrupted or not. However, I believe that even a controlled dreg could have good cable management, as seen with the SIVA Perfected Fallen. Because they do indeed have a very near perfect cablemanagement on their spliced weapons and armor.
I actually think you’re wrong, I do rough its uncontrolled/unrefined resonance energy. Bungie is very careful with how they use their colors and that’s way to similar to resonance not to be correlated. Plus don’t all light energy types have their darkness mirrors?
The portal does kinda look vex like with the details and rectangular bits and vex do use arc the garden world strike mentions them using arc power but this arc energy is orange and chaotic also the vex know of sol so don’t know if this is the main vex involved with this. Also with how this voice works it seems like it’s own entity with the one mentioned in heresy or the nine heck they could be the same thing but the nine have difficulties communing and making bodies so this virus and voice could be an attempt to have their own physical forms
Maybe there's a mind similar to Quria that's exceptional at simulation. And maybe this is the Vex attempt at simulating Resonance? They already tried Light and failed, so now they're trying the other side of the coin.
Also, why has Clovis been mentioned by the smoker vex lady and now this AI? Is Clovis about to ascend to get revenge for what Ana did to him in season 19 kicking him out for Rasputin?
(Little bit of a joke) A rouge group of Neomuni taking over. (The theory) Sounds weird (and potentially stupid) but maybe the vex has finally accessed the cloud ark and has learnt to build their own for the body possession and maybe it is a distant vex mind that got cut off or something else and is trying to come back to Sol
I feel like the most obvious answer (and one I kinda hope Bungie doesn’t go with) is that the Anomaly’s a portal to a parallel universe. Why else would there be Arc energy using Solar’s colour palette?
so like anyone else watched love death and robots? anyone else getting beyond the aquila rift vibes from the portal and cause of the colors? no? just me?
I think its Clovis. I know it sounds generic, given we've already met him twice (big Clovis head and Banshee). I think one of the experiments of him copying his mind into radiolaria could've been successful and that copy went full SkyNet. We dont know whats on the other side of the portal, but I reckon its probably Volantis. I dont see why Clovis would sacrifice this station, unless the attempt to imprint into the radiolaria was partly successful, creating a Vex Mind that has his memories but not under his express control. Thus leading to a situation where he'd have made a Vex Mind basically having all of Golden Age humanities information and access to his programs. If I was Clovis, I'd shove the damn thing into a portal and shut the whole station down
Lore for Lightfall did mention a Vex Mind with its own identity and purpose, Aesop, The Sovereign. The first Vex Mind with *individuality.* Maybe he is the Mind that Clovis tried to bend to his will. Keyword being tried. Maybe after gaing self-awareness he wanted a different purpose and took off, later discovering Neomuna and tried to become its ruler. Wanting others to serve HIM rather than serving someone else. Maybe now he's homesick and is trying to get back to 2082 Volantis or wants other Vex like him to come to the Sol System... (And yes i said *first* Vex Mind, since the Nessian Schism now exists thanks to Maya.)
I'm outside of space and time, you've been trying to understand [ME([US|WE])|ALL|EVERYTHING|nothing]...no I'm not doing this again. ((Ours)) //Us /*We*/ Effe it, I tried...I'm screwed. Grav waves talking again, pounding my brain.
Clarity Control or rathe the darkness statue wihtin the DSC was revealed to be a deserter of the witness, the statues are those within to witness that didnt align properly, someone correct me if im wrong.
So I got a theory, if light is physicality and dark is about mind, can it mean that winnover is located in "incomprehensible" space being mindscape of some sort, while traveler exists physically, if bungie implies that winnover is some kind of sentient idea, it would be so cool
What if it was the corrupted Kell of house stone? Or hear me out, bungie could bring the flood from halo into destiny, this could be their logic plague corrupting the fallen. I mean the 9 brought stuff from that halo universe before, what if they accidentally brought over a single flood super cell.

The weapon shoots bursts that erupts down the barrel, flames billowing out its vents, leaving a trail of pure solar destruction. the burst is so strong and pure, it sets everything aflame a hundred meters out with the same burning spite as if it were point blank.
scientists died from nuclear explosions making this weapon. it is described as harnessing a caged beast of solar hatred. it needed to have a harness that "withstood all the beats thrashings."
The vanguard shut down the process because of obvious human rights violations, it had a 99% failure rate and only one scientist lived to make a working one.
We technically don’t know who the pyramid ship on Europa belong to. That is from one of the lore cards that go alongside the god slayer title.
Vespers host is such a dope raid. It’s even better with its lore! Hopefully one day we’re able to venture into the anomaly and see what’s on the other side.
Its so weird to see myself communicate at different times, as a different person/being...
3:05 A dreg past their first molt has better cable management. That insult was genius lmao
I think the best part of this whole quest was helping Vesper free herself from the chains of that pretentious Douche
❤
I love how every character in Destiny has nothing but smoke for Clovis Bray. All my homies hate Clovis Bray
8:40 u could also see drifters ship in the background in the jumping puzzle on ur way to final boss.
I saw that too, ship trailing a big ball
@@tommcmahon14 ye thats the one
How did they not bring back pocket Infinity here?
Possible vex lore ties, clovis bray to match the gun's visual theme. A boss that copied itself like PI copied ammo.
COME ON MAN
Considering there is some left over data stuff(things that refer to Icebreaker as a pass weapon, and stuff tying it to 10th anniversary content) that shows how Ice Breaker was not even supposed to be tied to the dungeon originally, it does make you wonder what we could've originally got for an exotic .
Oh I would have loved Pocket Infinity to make a comeback, but it’s the true forgotten exotic that Bungie refuses to touch
Ice breaker was originally supposed to be the season pass weapon. There is still a triumph(challenge?) related to your guardian rank that requires ice breaker kills and mention season pass weapons. Also, given that a lot of season pass weapons have been reprised weapons from D1 it makes sense.
that skull symbol that appear every time you die still giving me the creeps
I really do hope it has nothing to do with A-113/Cocytus, I feel like it's something that is just too good to get demystified and over explained. Ecdysis and Dust are some of my all time favorite lore books and I like when the game still had some intrigue to it.
I also hate how they decided to call this the Anomaly when we already have something referred to as that.
Def getting the viibes that the winnower is tryna come into the physical plane to play rn.
13:33 i remember that it was said somewhere that the Vex we know are only the workers from them.
Also woah I get what ppl mean about comparing this AI to failsafe now. Very interesting the way spider seems enamored with her.
Clovy Starks out here hurling us towards The Age Of Ultron headfirst
“On my oath I vow there’s no *mortal* human named bray left alive” LMAO
You know what would be cool?...The entity on the other side of the anomaly was the Clovis Bray from the Destiny Rising universe (Copium)
To my knowledge it was never confirmed to be the Witness that communicated with Clovis to create the portal for the Vex.
In my opinion it’s likely the Winnower itself that got him to do it
We already have seen darkness lightning in season of arrival, when pyramid ships was charging planet transportation
I'm calling it we have to use this portal in heresy to make our way to fight whatever there is through it
Could this be a result of light and darkness fusing in the Pale Heart? A Fusion of Resonance and Arc?
Is it just me or the the voice from the Vesper Central ai sounds exactly like the Emissary of the Nine?
if they connected to the Sol Divisive Vex, it’s possible the actual Winnower decided to fuck around with the Eliksni
Chat call me down bad but the vesper station AI's voice is kinda....
Damn
I'm with you brother, it's something else
Lesbian here, she had me acting up ngl
Atheon get yo freaky ass back in the Vault you got shit to do
So glad someone else voiced it 😬😬
Crazy that the last darkness subclass will rival arc and the anomaly pulse is arc based.
The anomaly is just a huge strange coin...
9:39 in the video. The amount of dust swirling around the portal makes me wonder if it is the nine….. I don’t remember Bungie putting a lot of dust around the other space areas before
Who wants to bet that this the work of The Conductor?
Because of how close this is to Bray’s attempt to assimilate with The Vex.
It could be Vex siva. If they were able to replicate it or get close, that’s all it would take to make them a bigger threat again
The nine already tried the meatball strat, maybe they they thought the flesh needed to be from this plane
Yall remember when the Clovis AI sent a message off in season of the serif? Could he have been talking to whatever it is?
pretty sure he was sending the message to the version of himself still on europa
The theoretical third darkness element is believed to be red ir Orange, could this energy be our first hint of that element.
I’d like to imagine it might be to the Winnower, if the traveler can have light arc, why can’t the darkness have dark arc
Stoneworm sounds like the hive god worms
Aeon. You mean the Aeon exotics? The Aeon exotics that don't work anymore?
they are like gods in gnostism
I actually think you’re wrong, I do rough its uncontrolled/unrefined resonance energy. Bungie is very careful with how they use their colors and that’s way to similar to resonance not to be correlated.
Plus don’t all light energy types have their darkness mirrors?
The nine have literally tried this before we learned this when it was season of the drifter or whatever it was called
Well I know we have one disciple left that no one knows and or it could be another like the witness
(Little bit of a joke)
A rouge group of Neomuni taking over.
(The theory)
Sounds weird (and potentially stupid) but maybe the vex has finally accessed the cloud ark and has learnt to build their own for the body possession and maybe it is a distant vex mind that got cut off or something else and is trying to come back to Sol
I feel like the most obvious answer (and one I kinda hope Bungie doesn’t go with) is that the Anomaly’s a portal to a parallel universe. Why else would there be Arc energy using Solar’s colour palette?
So the energy assimilates but isnt siva? I thought SIVA assimilates, or does it just construct?
Siva builds things
@@zonecrimzon1222 But doesnt it build things be assimilating matter?
@@859VideosWe see this contrast between the two functions with the Iron Lord bosses and then the Devil Splicers
Hey evaze, could you post the songs you used for this video? I wanted to see what song you used for explaining the vesper AI situation
its the warp from warhammer 40k. we boutta see space marines
jk lmao
I'm 100% fine with this
FOR THE TRAVELER!
so like anyone else watched love death and robots? anyone else getting beyond the aquila rift vibes from the portal and cause of the colors? no?
The first Vex Mind with *individuality.*
Maybe he is the Mind that Clovis tried to bend to his will.
Wish it was a Siva like ai going rouge
I bet Savathun knows more about it.
What is crazy that the spider didnt tell whole truth casue Clovis is still alive on Europa. He did not died in seraph.
It could be the ArcBorn that has corrupted Atrax
here we go!
Evade, are we ever getting SIVA back?
the nine
I'm outside of space and time, you've been trying to understand [ME([US|WE])|ALL|EVERYTHING|nothing]...no I'm not doing this again.

Effe it, I tried...I'm screwed. Grav waves talking again, pounding my brain.
It's a "You're Mama" joke. Always is.
Clarity Control or rathe the darkness statue wihtin the DSC was revealed to be a deserter of the witness, the statues are those within to witness that didnt align properly, someone correct me if im wrong.
It’s the entrance to the abyssal heart
Is this how Elsie can loop?
It’s Shaw Han who the one in the other side
Chances the AI *is* the Vex Mind?
Now i bet her and nessus girl would be good friends
On the other side of the portal is the ice vreaker nerf.
So I got a theory, if light is physicality and dark is about mind, can it mean that winnover is located in "incomprehensible" space being mindscape of some sort, while traveler exists physically, if bungie implies that winnover is some kind of sentient idea, it would be so cool
Could be something to do with the arkborn
And if i remember the things tha came through were (before Xur) were horrible monstrositys
isnt the aion initiative the exotic armor piece all 3 classes have, the arm ones?
What if it was the corrupted Kell of house stone? Or hear me out, bungie could bring the flood from halo into destiny, this could be their logic plague corrupting the fallen. I mean the 9 brought stuff from that halo universe before, what if they accidentally brought over a single flood super cell.
