- Ah yes. I love Festival Da Canção. Maybe in this entire selection, there's 2-3 entries that I don't care much for, but after that, it's all such good stuff.
Please don't take the low placement of a song as a sign that I don't like it. It just means that I prefer something else. The entire lineup is really strong and there aren't many letdowns.
As for Eurovision, there's one song that is probably the most likely contender and it would do well, almost certainly a qualifier...but, if Portugal wanted to get a bit riskier with their choice, there are a few here that could also do well.
I'll look forward to the final and hope that Portugal picks something they can be happy with!

Oh you did Mela wrong with that section of the live performance xD.
I do think my country managed to gather a good collection of different genres and the overall selection is very nice and varied. The live performances were also, mostly, self-assured. The results of both semis perplex me though. "Primavera" 's Q was the biggest shock of my Saturday's evening, I was so sure it was going to finish last by both Juries and Televoters, similarly to Lara Li, last year. I might not be the biggest fan of it, but "Pé De Choro" felt like the rightful winner of SF2 and then it just NQs?! And ofc, my now winner, "Casa Portuguesa" also NQ for unknown reasons. The average FdC voter must be like 50 y.o. or something: 100% televote and having Noble ahead of Bispo really does expose the voters' demographic lol.
Not very unexpected but, if anyone wants an inside scoop of what Portugal will choose, it's very likely Iolanda. She's the only one trending on UA-cam here and, honestly, the only entry from FdC my non-Escfan friends have heard of. I don't think it'll even be close on saturday. We'll see.
I can't say your winner does much for me musically, but hey at least it's cheerful. He's very charismatic for sure!
Great vid, as always.
Thanks so much! I know Portuguese viewers take the selection very seriously and my choice of winner has rubbed a few up the wrong way, but I'm glad you can be respectful about which song I'm most drawn to, even if you're not liking it that much yourself.
I also appreciate the breakdown of what's happening. Huca and Bispo were both ranked highly for me in their semi finals and both were bringing music that wasn't even being touched upon by any other act in the entire selection. To see them NQ behind songs that didn't offer so much, is a bit odd.
Iolanda will be a fine choice...I'm more than ok with it!
It's wild to me that my top 5 had so much change just because of the live performance. I had Agua and Pontos Finais as my top 2, and now both of them are 4th and 5th. Grito is giving major Povo vibes from last year and that is really making me love the song a lot. Perpetua is growing on me too. They were 4th before, and now they're 2nd in my top. I still don't get why you like Leo if I'm completely honest. It's not my cup of tea, and it's not giving me anything I want too, so it's just very filler song to me.
FdC is a selection that I always rank differently after live performances. If anything, the pre-show ranking is just putting songs into tiers and, even then, it's not impossible for a song to move up like ten places after the live performance. A lot of it is due to the fact that there are rarely "bad" songs in Portugal's selection...so it's not a huge jump to move from a lower position to substantially higher.
Leo's song might be the like of mine that I've taken the most heat for this season! A bit unexpected but it's fine. Why do I like it? I think the verses are really beautiful melodically, and honestly, if it had stayed that route, it might've been a borderline 9.5 song for me. However, the upbeat and happy choruses just grew on me over time. It didn't hurt that his live performance was really great, too.
People are sleeping on “ Aceitar”. Such a great song…
I know. I've just got a feeling about this one doing really well. It's one of maybe, three songs that I feel could win the whole thing if "Grito" falls short in either of the votes.
I love Aceitar but for the win, imo, needs a least a couple dancing kizomba along the singer in the staging.
I definitely think this is a very strong lineup, and honestly I'm sure Portugal will choose the right song that could bring them far.
I just feel that your number 1 is a bit old school music, kind of like the stuff that you hear entering a Brazilian bar or in a film when some old driver listens to this on the radio. It's nice but it didn't do me anything. Was still a 100% sold by Maria João's performance though! Even Bel Lounge Daqui is slightly growing on me
Haha...I was waiting for your comment after seeing you put my no.1 last!
I don't think it's the best choice for Portugal at Eurovision. Surely, my no.2 is that. But it is still my favourite song.
Your number 1 does not represent my country at all😅
Por que? 😊🇧🇷
I know. But it's not like it's going to win. And tbh, y'all picked a song I really didn't like last year. So just be nice to me and let him do a little well!
Personally I think Portugal is the only appropriate country to send such a song to Eurovision because of its bonds with Brazil. I don't see any problem with that
Porque?
