absolutely heartbroken (and baffled) by this not making it into the final :( it's one of my few 10/10 songs of the season and the live version was just pure art

What a brilliant video! You made me share tears. I was there in person in the theatre when she won the FdC in 1994 and will never forget the positive energy and confidence she already oozed with merely 16 years of age... Sara is very special to me, as she was the first of a brilliant generation of black musicians, like Huca, Dino Santiago, Meyra Andrade and so many more, in a time when there were no black artists in the public sphere in Portugal. So she was indeed an inspiration not only to aspiring black artists, but to anyone that wanted a more inclusive and cosmopolitan Portugal, like we have today, in spite of everything. Only one small contribution: The start of the lyrics of Pé de Choro replicates verses of Chamar a Música, which immediately recalls the listener to Sara's history. Vielen vielen Dank!

This song grew on me since the songs were first released. I'm now hoping that it advances to the final. Great video explaining all the references to Sara's music 🙂 Her Eurovision song is my favourite Portuguese entry. She also has many other great songs like "Ponto de Luz" and "Eu Sei..." (My 2 favourite from her besides Chamar a música).

Great analysis. I would add somethibg with your permission. The firs verse of Huca's song mirrors some lines from "Chamar a Música". The words "Esta noite, vou... / Vou compor [-te] uma canção / De amor, amor, amor" are tsken literally from her iconic Eurovision entry. I think this was done beautifully.
Sadly he did not make it to the final, but should be proud nevertheless.

Thank you very much for this heartfelt video ❤. Sara Tavares is one of my favourite artists and Pe de Choro reflects her essence as an artist. When I saw yesterday the live performance of this song by Huca, I was so emotional, feeling happiness and pain at the same time. Both song and performance were very special, glad we have them in our lives to be listened to and appreciated.

I can't believe it didn't make it to the final 😢. This was by far Portigal's best choice. Not only it is a very good song, but it would have been perfect in this year's lineup. It's ethnic and unique, as many other somgs this year, but it would have shined amomg the other more upbeat and crazy songs. It has some sort of Salvador Sobral vibe, because it's sweet and soothing, but at the same time it's much more original and catchy, with that latin-creole beat. I couldn't have imagined a better entry for portugal 😨.
