- Will today's audience match be "CHARLES NELSON RILEY?"
We shall see! Remember, Charles spelt his last name "Reilly"!
Orson Bean, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Chelsea Brown, Richard Dawson, and Jo Anne Worley - Фільми й анімація
"Can we do it again?" Has to be one of the best zingers directed at Brett that I've heard.
He cracks me up.
Roll out the barrel. A great cultural reference that Richard Dawson knew in an instant! The best players are familiar with mainstream, popular culture.
7:07-Never leave Charles with that much of an opening!
He's so funny.
Richard scores his 19th head-to-head match today, having been chosen for an amazing 70th time!
This brings his accuracy score just a tad above Brett's...
Here's the updated accuracy leader board for the 7 celebs to have scored 3 or more matches so far:
Orson - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts).
Betty - 50% (8 wins in 16 attempts).
Charles - 42.9% (6 wins in 14 attempts).
Jo Ann Pflug - 36.4% (4 out of 11 attempts).
Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
Richard - 27.1% (19 wins in 70 attempts).
Brett - 26.7% (4 wins in 15 attempts).
*These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 188, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.
😵 wow good job!
I was given a kitten several years ago who was found next to traffic, and when I got him home me and my mom were giving him a bottle and he was all snuggly and she said “now he’s got the life of Riley” and Riley became his name! 🧡
I think this is the first time a celebrity (CNR) smokes while on the program (not just in opening credits). Eventually I've seen Richard and Brett smoke as well as some of the irregulars.
Interesting- I hadn't noticed that. Ill have to look back-
Jolly Green Giant question my answer would be Sprout
Mine would be "niblets"
Same here. Losing his sidekick would certainly make JGG lose his "ho, ho, ho".
While Sprout had been introduced by this time, he might not have been well enough known yet. Sprout would have been a great answer.
Richard is good with getting people to think he didn't choose their word.
Chelsea Brown ... WOW
7:08 ... He said what I thought . . . ;))
Oh my gosh.
I'm baffled as to what the fascination is with the jolly green giant.
It was a common commercial at the time.
@@tonypascale5317 Nephilim*
The jolly green giant was a big thing.
Same as the fascination with Euel Gibbons, The Godfather, Dumb Dora, and other characters that come up repeatedly.
@@tonypascale5317 Um ... okaaaaay. You might want to see a doctor about getting help with that psychosis of yours.
At the convention, Harry knew that his boss would get drunk and tried to slide down the bannister, so Harry put glue on it!! 😂😂😂😂😂
RIP Chelsea Brown 1942-2017
Never heard of her until now. Lovely woman. She would have made a great regular. RIP.
In the 70's she moved to Australia and acted there
@@spockboy Chelsea was a cast member of Rowan And Martin's Laugh In back in the late 60s
ROFL! Another fine dinner episode! :0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! ;0) Sounds like a broker in trouble.. ;0) Maybe we can go back! ;0) Love the acting, voices and the silliness.. ;0) I know why she looks so familiar now, was the champ the lady who said dress and Roger thought she said breast??? Yup, the next episode.. ;0)

Never heard of Chelsea.
She was on Laught-In.
I just learned of her from this round of shows.
@@pencils812 me too lol… time to google

When did MG go to the one in lead goes first in round two format?
It's not the "one in lead" goes first in round two; it's always the challenger goes first, regardless of who is in the lead. Only exception is if the challenger already has a score of 6 from round 1, then the champ gets to choose "A" or "B" in round two and must match all 6 to achieve a tie and stay in the game.
I believe that was when they started doing the night time show Match Game PM and then continued it when the show became MGSynd.. This way both questions were used in the 2nd and/or 3rd rounds instead of one not being used until the next front game..
That was only Match Game PM. Instead of 2 rounds of questions, there were 3. There were also 2 audience matches before the head to head match. They chose this format to fit one entire game into the half hour time slot. Also, the PM version didn't feature "returning champions". Each contestant only played for one episode.
I love the Jolly Green Giant questions
But, really, the thing that would make him sad enough to lose his "ho, ho, ho" would be if Euel Gibbons ate his Little Green Sprout. The Giant's sidekick had been around for a couple of years at that point, so I'm surprised nobody thought of that answer.
@@brettmiddleton7949 Yul Gibbons.
@@dmnemaine Euell Gibbons (1911-1975), outdoorsman and early health food advocate.
Pony Express is a more better answer than pony tail on the head to head match.
Yes, but ya gotta remember, we're talking about Richard here
I Had Glue
For the banister question?
Martha was a very beautiful woman, seemed like she might have been a wee bit brow beaten ,. Looked like she had to look for permission from her hubby to kiss Richard 😕 I hope she was happy with her life.
Her husband must've made her dress frumpily. She probably caught hell later for kissing Richard even though she checked with his insecure ass first.
@@northerngirl1637 😞yes i know ,cause i used to be an insecure ass. But it was my low self esteem that brought it in,and no life ambitions. 🙂
I thought that at first also, but to me it looks like a look of respect to her husband, the same way Richard pointed at a husband and gave him the thumbs up after the wife hugged and kissed him for the winning answer, I thought that was very respectful also.
@@gordonowens7794 its a nice thought, but probably not...
Jo Anne just didn't seem to be enjoying herself much on this week (day).
Why did Orson Bean always have to make a loud yell whenever anyone said something even mildly suggestive?
He is excitable.
It must've been awful sitting next to Charles smoking that pipe all day.
Saint Richard lost AGAIN! Oh my land; how many times IS this now?! BUT they still insist on picking him so still can't feel sorry for the contestants
Richard matched with barrel
@@brandiegger8808 I didn't say never matches, but he loses 100 times more than he wins.
I think the ladies just wanted to kiss him. Lol
@@susanbezio6708 You are not wrong there
Gene's impersonation of the Godfather wasn't very good.
He didn't have any cotton to stuff in his cheeks. He just had to make do.
@@brettmiddleton7949 He went for gruff and gravelly instead of smooth and hoarse. Richard did it much better.
@@dmnemaine I agree.
