Lava lamps take me back to the 90’s. I know they were popular in the 70’s here in the UK. I assume then they were as well in the US? But somehow they became a must have again here in 1997/98. Just as I had started working within the lighting department at Selfridges in London. We sold hundreds of them.
Everyone loves to beat up on Kaye Stevens and she gets on my nerves too. But "pie crust" was a very clever answer. Not a winner, but funny. Plus, she actually supplied the winning answer for a contestant at around 17:15. Just trying to point out ... no one is ALL bad.
"Charles isn't wearing any socks" was a running gag. It was pretty much expected that Brett was going to announce that whenever Charles was on the panel.

Leave Brett alone. If I was a contestant I'd pick Brett for both Super Match and Head-to-Head no matter how much it is just so I can have a warm hug over a gross kiss from Richard. Brett has also matched MANY times for $5,000 Head-to-Head. I wish Brett was picked more.
If I were a contestant, I'd choose Brett or CNR or Betty White every time. Brett takes the head-to-head match so serious and really cares about matching the contestant! Plus, I love her hysterics when she's chosen for the head-to-head, she nearly has a heart attack! I appreciate being able to see all these episodes after nearly 50 years.
I've been watching the majority of 74 series and I haven't heard them ask how dumb is she yet, come to think of it I can't recall any questions starring my namesake
She has been chosen several times, and I have seen her help them win the big money. You need to learn the difference between stating a fact and an opinion. NOT the same thing. When someone pays YOU to be on a show, then you can judge.
