Do you have an office in Manchester
Great video but you never gave the height to the valve from floor.
Hi after watching this bought one of these and after a year it still out performs my expectations. the best shower experience ever and the install after watching this was a breeze thanks for all the little tips so helpful especially the remote valves once again thanks for posting
I am about to fit an almost identical shower, I did not fully understand the instructions so searched online for a video, as usual your face appeared and showed me everything I need to do a first class job, nice one James!
Thanks for all your videos! Just installed my bathroom after plenty of your tutorials on repeat. Safe to say a week in and no leaks and one very happy girlfriend! Love the videos. Needless to say I'm still watching even though I don't intend on touching anymore plumbing for another few years
No worries John, glad to help you out!
Wooh a wonderful professional let me say that it is so fantastic that after watching I also installed my first shower coz am also a water technician...God bless u en continue posting such a teaching videos
I'm a licensed plumber in Boston ma, USA. Love the videos. Uk plumbing is wildly different.
I like your work bro and the way you demonstrate how the job must be done is very very clear and simple thanks .
How can anyone give this a thumbs down? Brilliant James, thanks for great vids and advice, subscribed 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome video as a plumber student I recommend to watch this "hold tight " man...
Lovely professional tutorial well done thank you 🙏
Jimbo, I have bought this shower today off the back of this video!Your latest video showing how to plumb the shower tray in your house looked straightforward as you had access from underneath. can you do a video on doing it from above please. I don't have a clue which way my joist run or where they are as my modern house uses fibre boards rather than old fashion floor boards. Hold Tight!
This video is brilliant.
Today I bought exactly this model and I’ve studied the instructions and was totally baffled.
Although they show the brass coloured skeleton brackets in the section showing what’s supplied they don’t show them anywhere in the instructions.
I strongly suggest you contact Aquilisa and offer to rewrite their instructions.
Well done you
Thanks a million.
I like a baking hot shower 😁 thank you for this and other videos. Did my bathroom using a number of your vids 👍. Top videos
Cant you do a video of you fitting a totally new bathroom with bath and shower from scrach?

Is Colin Furze your big brother?
A deep, big, fat thank you :) ... From a more confident DIY :)
hahahahahaha
do you have a link for where i can buy one of these beauties...? needed in my extension, work for which starts in a few weeks. love the video like always.
Can you advise me please! Im not a plumber. I have a gravity feed system and I have a standard electric shower in main bathroom already. I dont want to put in another electric shower in unsuite as I would have to ripp walls apart to get cables in and also put in an interlock switch (costly) at fuse board to isolate which shower is operational and my budget is tight as it is. The hotpress/hot water cylinder is right behind the unsuite and would be easy to run in hot and cold pipes to fit a mixer shower. Ive seen cheap enough ones for around hundred to hundred and fifty which look alright. What kind of flow rate or pressure would I get from standard gravity feed system in a 3 bedroom house, I was also think about fitting a pump later too if pressure is to low. My question is this. What kind of pressure rating shower do I have to buy and keep in mind I will fit a pump later if pressure not satisfactory when I have more money. Or, can I buy any mixer shower and still fit a pump later. I hope that made sense!
Fitting these later after having dramas with the cranked ones... cheers for the info...
Great video James, do you have a video showing the initial 1st fix of the piping?
Great job as usual
Pl8 behind the wall is my best friend with these.
Great vid. Hey my system was changed from a gravity to combi. I have bought and fitted a new cartridge but there is still the cold water flow regulator required. Where does that go in the system do I just popit in the cold pipe feed?
Nice video James
Wish we had that here in the states!
The ending reminds me of Jacob and I on that Swimming pool job! LOL!! Great instructional video! Can see the education department using this 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Cheers dude! The one after this next week is even better, all about lifting condensate if your boiler is in a basement or summink!
And I do remember that vid....might make it into the halloween BEAST!
Great video. Have you ever had to remove an old one and put a new 9ne where the old holes cannot be used? How do fill the old holes?
Always useful info
Great video, you make it look so easy. I am planning to fit a deck mounted version, shower or taps for bath and discovered there is a TMV on the hot feed. Does this need to be removed?
Cheers mate!.. You made it look easy pizzy lemon squeeze!.. I'm a sparky & I do my own plumbing at home thanks to you.. Keep it up mate 🏆
No worries Ali, glad to help mate!
Great Vids James! What’s the difference between the Midas 110 and 220? Going to fit one of these bad boys soon.
Great video. Looking at the spec and the manufacturers say you need a minimum 1 bar of pressure for the drencher head. Is this just referring to cold water pressure, or do I need to take the hot water pressure into account? The house has a combi boiler with a max 9 litres / min flow rate. I measured a cold tap as having 15 litres / min flow rate. I think the system probably isn't good enough for the drencher head. What do you think? I need to go and buy a pressure meter, but I could do with some guidance.
Jamie, great channel love the videos, can I ask what isolation valves you used, i.e. gate valves or fullbore iso-valves. Cheers.
I'm a simple man. I see a plumberparts video upload. I click.
Ha! Thanks man....loads more to come!
Haha excellent video! 👌
excellent
Now I am going to change my thermostatic shower bar
Thanks for the info! :).
Hi James is there any particular set hight to have the thermostatic bar up from a bath?
Being it’s an offset riser to the drencher head , did you measure it so that riser is central to the shower or the mixer itself ?
You are a legend
Hey how high from the bath tubs floor do you install shower mixer bracket to accommodate the shower.
You got push fit in there for the movement on close inspection can see it through the hole ...
Hi, what rawl plugs are you using?
Loving your videos,i know im old school and you don,t want bosswhite or similar in the the mixer ,but we always did it on compression fittings everytime,no dry joints ever, how say you .
Thanks so much this really helped
No worries Paul. Glad it helped you out mate!
*Don't miss this week's live stream* bang the notification bell too! ua-cam.com/video/TRJJjTkdENw/v-deo.html
Thanks bro
Could you tell me if the "Aqualisa Midas will run off a "Worchester Greenstar 28i junior" combi boiler. I have a flow rate of 12 litres per minute on the cold water tap in the kitchen, the shower will be located upstairs. Cheers
Nice video 👍🏻 I have this shower and my pinch grip exploded. To replace am I going to have to turn the water off and disassemble the vertical riser?
Hey could you link where I can buy that shower head?
Good job
Cool video. What is the drill bit you're using for the tile holes. You made it look too easy.
Hi mate, was wondering what your thoughts were on compression fittings as I'm plumbing in a new shower. New to the copper pipework world. Watch a lot of videos of people applying tape etc to the olive. Or should you just nip these things up without? Was going to fit all my pipework elbows etc and give it a water test prior to fitting my dry wall.
Any tips would be appreciated....keep up the great work with Utube there brilliant.
Cheers
What’s the minimum water pressure you would advise for this? Thank you james
Can this shower units be used with combi boiler? And what sort of water pressure do you need ? Ie 30kw combi with 12lpm?. Will that ne enough to give a power shower feel?
When installing a mains fed electric shower is it ok to just t off mains going into the water tank 👍
what is the best way to install an electric shower if i have a Fortic tank? (already installed in my new house)
How high above the tray did you install the piping?
Firstly i'd like to say great video, very informative. Just come for a bit of advice really. What do you do if the holes for the pipe coming out of the wall are quite large so when you go to fix the bracket onto the wall the tiles just end up cracking and chipping away? Yes he was a shit tiler...
I don’t have the best water pressure, would this type of shower still work well
I love a baking hot shower. I aim to look like a lobster when I come out especially in winter.
What's behind the tiles and board? Are the pipes fixed to a timber frame inside? Or are they lose and raw plugs used?
Thanks for the great video. Excuse the rookie question but I have my water coming down in polypipes, is it OK to plumb the shower taps straight onto these or would you recommend changing to copper pipes?
Nice!
Very entertaining video, just a question regarding the fast fix systems someone mine able to help me with. I’m wanting to fit a Grohe mixer valve which is a 3/4” male nut is that the industry standard, so all these fix kits are compatible?
Hope someone can help as I don’t want to order the wrong valve !
👍🏻
What would you do if the centres were off?
Mate would you put jet blue on the olives or not?
I got aquaLisa colt and it drips is it straight forward to replace the cartridge? Great video I’m holding tight !
lovely vedio
What can i do if i drilled the top hole for the shower bar a bit too low (1/4 of an inch)?
Could you tell me what size hole cutter i need for 15mm pipe through ceramic tile
hello mate quick question what if your pipe is not a 15mm will it still fit in the bus adaptor? my pipe says half inch but am not sure if that is 22mm or 15mm lol
I have a combI boiler and want to change the bar mixer or just the valve as im not getting any hot water come through. Do I have just one water supply that needs to be turned off whilst doing the job or is there a hot water supply separately ?
It's safest to tighten up the compression joint before putting in the screws as if the grip on the backplate slips when you tighten up there's a real danger of cracking the tiles. If the fitting is slight twisted, then it's easy enough to rotate if backwards a little until it lines up with the screw holes. Putting silicon sealant into those screw holes is certainly essential.
Are the hot and cold pipes always the same width apart as we just want change our shower please ?
Hi can someone answer this question I have an old Mira shower would the centres for the pipes would be same if I was replacing to a shower similar to this one
What height would you usually put the mixer at ?
Does the main riser rotate?
I have bought one of these and have damaged the olive that comes with it, can I just use any olive instead ?
Great 👍
Do you need ptfe tape on the olive or not
How do you switch on the hand shower
hi sir how to clean the dust upvc pipeline
Hi I've got a dripping shower. The actual shower head is above and dripping and the control dial is hand level. They are integrated into the shower wall. As it was probably fitted around 1990s age... Could you please let me know where I'd find the washer.
Would it be behind the shower head or would it be behind actual shower control ? Many thanks Andy.
What's the average height from the shower tray to shower bar? Cheers
Would this shower be okay to use with a combi boiler? I have good water pressure from the bath taps
Fantastic fantastic.
Thanks dude!
He is bonkers. Really good informative videos though.
Can you show how to turn off the hot water in a gravity fed system to complete this job. Thanks
I’ve just done exactly this however I had the plastic pipes instead of copper and there’s a very small drop of water coming from the cold pipe, I’m assume between the olive and the shower mount, am I doing something wrong? I’ve also got a plastic insert in the pipe.
This is handy, as it can take a while to run a bath.
love the video iam having my bathroom done in november i my get one .
Top stuff!
How much does it cost to be installed? Tks
What sort of pressure do you need for this showers? I have a vented gravity system and I’m not convinced it would have enough. What options are there to boost the pressure? I have used a shower with a pump attached before and thought it was poor at best, temperatures were hard to get etc.
They make a different version for gravity fed or pressurised. So they accomodate any system you have, just make sure you buy the right one!
How easy is it to replace a pinch grip on the Mida shower? Do you loosen the hex head bolt and the nut on the pipe? Once both are loose, how easy is it to remove the pipe to repalce the pinch grip?
Just fitted a shower this afternoon in my house but no cold water coming through! 😕
Where can I get an adjustable wrench like that 😎
I'm guessing that you flushed the system before installing the shower?
No ptfe tape on the olive??
How forgiving is the rail if the mixer is on the piss?
I can't stop laughing,you are hilarious!!!!!!!
Ive been looking at replacing our thermostatic valve unit but struggling to find the isolator for the hot and cold. In this video looks very similar to ours. Any clue on where it may be hidden ?
Might not be any :)
you leave a bit of play on the 15mm then for the 150 so it goes on pukker pies , tidy.
