Oh, the mistman fight DOES have a special exploit you can do. Right before he uses poison mist or soul gang, his lamp will emit a small puff of smoke. Purple for poison, black for soul. If you stun him just as the puff appears but before the attack is activated, you can stop his attack and if your quick enough, can stop him from EVER attacking.
This is really impressive. BN3 has been one of my favorite games, I have save states for all of omega navis and fight them often with all sorts of different folders and restrictions. The combat in BN3 is so good.
The filter in the last few videos did not bother me. That being said, filterless looks very clean! I did a side-by-side comparison of your two BN3 videos and I think I prefer the filterless video quality.

What a pro, doing the unthinkable!! This definitely took a lot of practice and time. Filterless is much better for me since it looks more nice. I honestly love these MMBN Buster only series and I'm excited to see more content from you!! Great job!!
You're improving your work in all aspects for every new video you drop, absolutely incredible :D Let's hope your stuff gets more attention once the MMBN Legacy collection drops!
Aw, hell yeah! Omega versions of all bosses for the win! Good job on managing them. Like I said before, I'm not up to snuff to manage most of even the v3 versions, so this is cool to see. Elec tends to be my preferred element, just because of the built in stun from the bunny like ring. Water would be second, then fire, then wood. Wood's inability to reach the back row with its charge just kills it for me.
@@arthursnyder6935 True, but I tend to play BN the way I play pokemon - all gas, and a little bit of healing, haha. I know the support chips do add some good stuff; I just never end up using them.

I vaguely remember this from when I played this when I was younger, but I somehow didn't think of trying to beat the Hardhead first! Thanks for letting me know, I'll keep this in mind for future runs!
It’s funny but your videos are helpful to me to know how useful guts style is. I probably won’t go for it when I play the legacy collection, but if I get it accidentally I know it will be good
I always loved Aqua style due to how fast and versatile the charge shot and its shotgun pierce effect is. Shadow style and anti-damage are also super fun when you get it down. Also they really should've called JapanMan YamatoMan like he's in the main series, but i guess it's par for the course for the localization quality for the entire series.
In my opinion, filterless is always better. Pixel art works well because the blocky style leaves room for interpretation, allowing your mind to blur the lines. Filtering it takes away from that, it takes away the charm. In addition, it can mess with artist intended details due to melting together the pixels.
Wouldn't mind a fun redux video with the collection using buster max mode to see how many "impossible" fights become possible. Love these videos either way as they really take me back. Probably the most important videogame series of my life. ^^
I have a sugestion for you to consider for future videos, if you end up in a near impossible boss that takes hours to beat, maybe doing a little compilation of attemps against said boss would be cool, I was half expecting something like this for bubbleman, but again it's just a sugestion and I know you were probably very tired of the game + editing. So for feedback, anyone who played this game know of the terror that is bubbleman, I was sure you would give up on the omega version because as you said, it feels impossible buster only, and you deserve mad props for actually beating it. And as for the graphics, they are a lot cleaner with no filter in my opinion.
Considering how much of a joke Bubbleman is the canon manga/animated series, for them to make him purposely a nightmare in the games is just downright sadistic. It's like giving a real life rooster the power to generate hurricanes every time he flaps his wings...
Omega Navis : I am at the peak of my power! C.C. : Hey! Perfect timing! I just switched up my style to have a new charge attack! Omega Navis : ABORT MISSION ABORT MISSION ABORT MISSION!!!!
I feel like when you talk about the speed that a boss is moving at, you should show the fight at normal speed so we can get a better idea of how fast they actually are
I am happy the filter is gone. It didn't bother me so much in the original video, but the crisp edges just look better for a game themed around computers and cyberspace than the messy oil paint visuals the filter provides
It's actually possible to beat Bass without any chips. He disables his aura for a short while when performing Earthbreaker, he did this in BN2 as well. However this would mean you'd be stuck waiting and baiting out an earth breaker in the middle or frontmost row and also would have to perfectly dodge as many of his other attacks as possible. Or use the navicustomizer shield/anti-damage programs and also perfectly block/counter the other attacks. It's a way to not get softlocked when playing normally and you jut happen to run out of chips, but a really sadistic one, honestly.
Heads up for Battle Network 4 since you’re likely going to allow the use of Soul Unison/Double Soul, Wind Soul completely breaks the LaserMan fight. LaserMan has a crippling weakness to the Wind element. Not the BN6 kind, LaserMan is helplessly immobilized by concussive knockback from things like Wind Rack and Air Shot. And your basic Buster as Wind Soul is a spammable Air Shot that does 5 damage, and each shot fires in succession just quickly enough to nail LaserMan before he finishes recoiling from the last hit. Meaning you can infinite combo him into the dirt from max HP with a really persistent button mashing. Good luck out there.
I admit to being a little disappointed at skipping over the impossible enemies with a gameshark. I was hoping you'd take to my idea of tracking how many battlechips is the minimum for completing Battle Network, as I think hearing you contemplate that kind of loadout, a unique one that tries to use as few chips as possible, would be a fascinating addition to the challenge, though I understand you put a lot of work into this already.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree, it really would've been interesting. The suggestion for keeping track of the minimum number of chips is a really good one, and I think that I'll start doing that from BN4, but I think that I was just really tired and ready to let go of BN3. It's definitely still my favorite game in the series, but the amount of time spent playing and editing this and the main video was really starting to get to me, so I took some shortcuts that I would have preferred not to
@@creationcorporation6267 Oh, I totally get it! Watching this video, it's pretty clear how much work and tribulations this game was. I'm a little worried how you'll feel during BN4, but I'm glad you like my idea!
@@creationcorporation6267 For 4, Would it be possible to have a tiered system of chip requirements, like moving up to "Non damaging chips only" to "Damaging chips only for summons and shields" to "Just use chips"?
if you keep going with 4, i'll warn you, you will need everything at your disposal. 4 has some REALLY nasty enemies. you'll want to plan out a route. pre-game research will probably translate into dozens of saved hours overall
Question: if and when you plan to do 4, 5 and 6 how are you planning to handle the souls/ crosses I can understand not using souls since they require chips to activate but what about crosses?
I hate to be that guy, but the Omega NAVIS can only be fought after pretty much 100% everything else, meaning having all chips, beating the game once, doing the time trials, and forming all the Program.advamces. Then on the menu screen with all the other stars, imputing a specific code(can't remember what it is) THEN you can fight the Omegas. It's also worthy to note that although punk HAS an Omega Navi I'm the code, you technically can't fight him without cheating.
Something you could've tried for the mistman fight is the Reflect mod tool code. Every time he rushes forward, you can counter it with a B+Left for 100 damage and the timing is much easier than anti damage B+Left. Here's an example: ua-cam.com/video/Bx0HfBmMM0I/v-deo.html
I don't see anyone saying this, but DarkMan isn't quite as unpredictable as you think. He can only directly attack every two times that he moves, and only if you step into his row. He swaps between his three elemental forms when he moves, and it's always in the same pattern. As long as you don't step into his row when his yellow form is ready to attack, you can get through the fight relatively unscathed. It really is just the bats and shadow attack that makes the fight hard. He's still hard enough for A rank, but S might be too high in my ranking.
@@creationcorporation6267 Imagine if they doubled down on BubbleMan.EXE's difficulty in the Legacy Collection and made him even more difficult. 1. More Bubbles. 2. Yes, yes you can. I beat the whole game using the buster and a pacifist folder(no dmg, poison, or any other offensive type chips), save for the tutorial, where you're forced to use dmg dealing chips, so I would imagine it'd be only a little harder without chips at all
Extremely impressive, but, I would have liked to see you try the grass stage program out on Bass to see what's possible with that setup, rather than using chips.
I know multi comments can be annoying, but I just realized it's actually VERRY good you didn't use break charge on King man. If you destroy his pawns, he'll use Plan B, replenish his pieces and can swap a pawn for another knight, or both for a knight and rook, which stands in front of him and blocks all damage.
Ah, I didn't know set green was white exclusive my bad. And this alpha fight, you were probably exhausted hence why you didn't notice that it wasn't the zap laser attack that did the most damage to you but the gattling gun which is way easier to dodge but doesn't trigger your s. And yeah even with the highest weapon lvl, I don't think it is possible to beat a omega n.o beam virus or that omega alphabug virus so it's fine. A tip for mistman which I am not sure you have enough time to pull off. When he is about to use soul gang, instead of purple smoke coming out of the lamp after 2-3 attacks, he has black smoke, if you can stagger him in that short window between the blacksmoke appearance and him using soulgang, you will cancel out the attack just like bass. The problem is you only stagger him after a couple of shots so idk if it is possible unless you predict and prefire where he's going to be.
Just for the hell of it. Can you do this all again in Buster Max mode When the legacy collection comes out. It won’t necessarily be challenging but it will be fun to see how fast you can mow down all the bosses with a Buster Max guts style
I would absolutely do a "how fast can you beat with BusterMAX" video! A lot of ideas and runs rolling around, but that's a great one to include on the list
You are incredible! I rarely comment under videos in general but I want to say thank you for your amazing content! When I saw your first Buster Only video I thought like "This is something that could never work out... it's really can not... can it?" 😂 Keep the amazing stuff going (if you feel like it) and can't wait for the next videos and for the Legacy Collection next month 🤍
Elec type styles are great for a one-two punch type attack, which is really good in BN3 due to the limited damage windows of so many enemies. I have to wonder if non-guts styles might have been more useful in some of these fights, obviously custom and team styles wouldn't be of any use, but shadow, shield, or bug could all come in handy even if bug is inconsistent.
Oh you did get rid of the filter. It bothered me, but I wasn't about to tell someone to change what they might've liked. I just don't like how it blobs the graphics together, it doesn't achieve quite what a CRT did. Just the raw sharp pixels are the nicest to look at for these older games sans filters if you can't get a CRT set up (and I don't blame you if you can't)
Also. PS. good friggin luck with BN 4 and 5 6 as well maybe. But there is some stuff that'll truly test your' metal in those two titles. Especially those liberation missions in 5.
yeah, bass should technically be S tier automatically since you have to use a chip to get rid of his aura, which negates the buster only rule. Nice vid btw

Especially those liberation missions in 5.
how did i never fight theses as a child... i played this game for like 3 years XD
Pretty sure this was explained in the first video, but I couldn't find it, so here goes...
What's with the 40 HP difference on the stats?
Yay more BN3 content!
I must be blind cuz I don't even notice a difference with the filter is on or off
Great job!
yeah, bass should technically be S tier automatically since you have to use a chip to get rid of his aura, which negates the buster only rule. Nice vid btw
Skips to the Bass fights (exe 3)
Buster MAX mode: YES
Ofc you can beat every enemy with just the buster. It's literally how you end up with guts style in BN 2 and 3
WE ARE NETBATTLER, WE DO NOT NEED CHEAT TO WIN IN NET BATTLE
NEW VIDEO YAY
Buster only is going to be a lot easier in about a month
bn 3 is one of the best of the series and my first one, the only reason why I didnt 100% is because I didnt have anyone to tarde bowlman chip, i remember i could kill protoman whole my friend just die trying.
He Said Float Shoes but used Air Shoes, I would have Just Used Hub Batch, and Buster Max, But That's Just Me
