This is one of the greatest compilations of information I have ever seen on a UA-cam video. I am so happy Battle Network is getting more attention and I love that I will have this to reference as I continue the Legacy Collection!
I feel like some players may fail to notice how some of the BN5 footage is from the DS version (note the original font, higher quality music, extra character portraits, voice work, etc), but other then that this is a great showcase! Oh, and one other thing! Some of the navi chips have special and simple button inputs for added effects! For example, Gyroman can be made to drop all his bombs on one target by holding L and R together, and I believe Aquaman can pull out a stronger firehose to spray a whole column, but I don't remember the input for that one
Something to note about GyroMan's navi chip attack: holding the shoulder buttons until you hear a confirmation sound will make him bomb just the first enemy he flies over. Also, the number of blue columns determines how many bombs he drops. Learned this watching RoahmMythril's ongoing LP of 5.
While you did show it in the video, it's worth noting that Navi Recycle doesn't just recycle the last Navi Chip. It also recycles all buffs attached to that chip AND can recycle Program Advances that involve Navis. Apparently, this includes Body Guard in the Legacy Collection, though Body Guard doesn't get recycled in the original English GBA versions.
@@ingamingpc1634 Creating a chip spam folder that you can use twice is more busted Tbf. It’s more that they buffed it to be closer to the level of busted that a full folder reset is.
This was really well made. I've played these games before and even I was learning a lot of new stuff. If a StarForce collection comes out I'd love for you to do a video like this for that.
I don’t think you can actually obtain the souls from the other version. It’s just playing the scenario and fighting the bosses, which tbh sounds great still
You don't actually get all souls, their scenarios can appear in the other game by trading navis and once you fight them you don't get their soul but they can appear at their fixed spot for v2 and their random encounter version for v3.
@@luiscesarmariafilho9475 but You can get all 6 Souls for Each version right? For Red Sun you can get Guts Soul, Roll Soul, Fire Soul, Thunder Soul, Wind Soul & Search Soul all 6 of em right?
The greatest moment of the video is at 9:28 where Austin proves he ISNT one of those people who say "Oooohh, play Colonel version, its the canon one because of the extended ending!" and actually gives counters to those people with points that give the plausibility that both can be equally canon. Protoman holding more weight than Colonel in 5 is completely true with the added point of Team Protoman consisting of actual professionals and not a rag-tag group of weirdos like in Team Colonel. Colonel leads a princess, a terrorist, a nature loving native american youth, a nerdy battlechip shop owner, and a news reporter. Protoman leads a CEO of a large company, an Ace Helicopter pilot, a fireworks/explosives expert, a young military leader with great analytical abilities, and a medical specialist. Lets face it, Team Protoman actually feels like a professional team. But on the otherhand, why do people care so much about the story of BN when its mostly a joke and doesn't take itself too seriously? The best thing about BN is how much one can make fun of the ridiculousness of it all.
I think you mixed up the bedroom screenshots for gregar/falzar at the start...? 0:50 I had gregar as a kid and that poster was always motorcycle Django over a blue bed.
Awsome video. Not sure if you take requests, but i'd like to see a video on GTA SA or DMC 3. Since with all the ports, it's difficult to say what the definitive way to play is?
Wait, I feel like I’m misunderstanding what you are trying to say for BN4. Can you get all 12 souls in one game version? If so, when can you start doing that?
Can anyone confirm if its possible to use the opposite version double souls in bn4 at 5:05 ? It may have just been a misunderstanding/mispoke tbh but if true it would be so cool..
You can't, once you do the scenario for a navi from the opposite game you can find them in their fixed spot on the net and after that you can find the random encouter version.
So at the end of the day BN3:Blue is the superior for 3 altogether. Navirecycle immediately uses your last Navi cup, sure. But that's nothing compared to getting that Navi chip back with the rest of your folder. And I've been in some PVP matches where a folder recycle would have been immensely helpful.
Navi Recycle does return any PAs that involve a Navi Chip because they somehow count. In the showcase it recycled Big Heart. Still, Folderbak is just too good.
@@AStrangerOnTheInternet I'd say they're both immensely powerful. Plantman is evil enough as it is, hitting with the highest version of that back-to-back without having to spend turns searching for the buffs again is bonkers. I'm still a Blue stand, but Navi Recycle can't be slept on.
@@danielpayne1597 I guess I need to freshen up on my net battling. The last time I played any of them was back in 2005 I think? Whenever BN5 came out. I got into the series when BN3 released and in order I got White, Red Sun, and Team Proto Man (though I really wanted Colonel because I was a Mega Man X4 fanboy). Haven't touched them since then because in high school I had a buddy I battled with on my bus, but then I graduated and lost touch and in turn interest in the Battle Network series until the Legacy Collection.
Working my way through the series, have yet to play 4-6. 6 is considered balanced (by many) between versions, while I've heard it's Protoman-or-bust for 5 PVP and one of the 4s is better than the other. Watching this, I still don't really get why. Somebody want to fill me in?
The Soul Unisons. People consider the souls better in Blue Moon and Team Protoman, but honestly just pick whichever version you want with the ones that you think are cool
@@svenbtb 1 year late but really? I and many others consider the souls in Red Sun to be superior to the Blue Moon ones because of their abilities and how much easier they are to use. Is it because of Metal Soul and how much damage it can do in an instant? It's alot harder to say which version has the better souls in 5 because each have really great souls so it more boils down to how cool you think they are.
@@cassettecobra3848 Metal Soul and airhockey make 4 a cakewalk. On top of tbat Aquasoul is amazing and Numberman is just as good if not better than searchman for getting chip combos. In 5 protoman is far better for PvE thanks to gyrosoul. It has the best combos by far. Colonel has some cool things going for it but none come close to the raw damage output that Protoman can dish out.
@Luckingsworth Yea, Metal Soul is OP with Air Hockey and Vulcan but it's one amazing soul versus 5 mediocre/low-tier souls. How is Aqua Soul amazing? Generally curious. Most people I've seen say it's low-tier Soul which I'm in agreement with because of the lack of good options with it. The problem with Number Soul is that it's main drawing point, the 10 chips on the custom screen, can be done in a smaller fashion all the time with Cus+1 and Cus+2 programs which at max is 8 chips, 3/5ths of Number Soul's job. Search Soul benefits from this for allowing even easier access to combos thanks to the shuffle.

Gregar crosses focus on charge attack offense
Falzar crosses focus on veristility and utility

I haven't played 6 yet, but I watch lots of N1GP. I think the hose is based upon if you are in the back row or two.
This was exceedingly well made and edited! Everything that needs to be known is here and explained/shown perfectly.

Unpopular opinion: if Mega Man Battle Network 7 exist, it should returned to its roots AKA to be just one version just like MMBN 1 and 2.

Love these videos
Black and Blue for 3 are basically upgrades. There a whole boss encoumter you just don't get in base 3 no replacement just nothing.
Team Colonel’s Colonel has elec listed as the sacrifice. Is that accurate?
Nope, it’s actually Object Listed just like Junk Soul.
In order to use Colonel Soul You need to sacrifice an Object Chip.

In the Legacy Collection you can download the event chips.
