I just stumbled across this band tonight. I read on Wikipedia that they are part of the 'Big Three' of the progressive metal movement with Queensryche and Dream Theater who I already listen to so...I feel like I've unlocked some secret level in a video game or something, lol.
their ability to seamlessly jump from time signature to time signature, slip in almost unnoticed key changes, and just be ridiculously talented musicians can't be beaten.
Love, FATES!!!! Ray, reminds of Geoff Tate!! The way Geoff would hit the high notes on the E.P Queen of the ryche!!! Just, a memory now?? For, those who missed out on the 80's METAL?? This, video is for your pleasurable viewing!!!! 🤘🎼🎸
This is one of the greatest bands of all time. This song, (SILENT CRIES) is awesome , but it's ONLY ONE in a LONG LIST of songs & albums by FATES WARNING. You need to check out all of their albums. Every album has a unique feeling & sound of its own. FATES WARNING!!!!🤘
@@DoseofMorningSunshine Love his Voice & remember when this video came out & liked that he has the same name as Me. RAY just recorded a video about rare good videos & this song is on the list. But i just didn't get into Fates that much so many of their songs were too slow for me

One night, in 1988,,,,I was watching Headbangers Ball & this was the last video. Was blown away at this song as an 18 year old. Been a fan ever since. Saw them 4 times. Alder & Matheos have great chemistry. Fates is no longer recoding albums but, Alder & Matheos are supposedly doing an album.
Let’s try and be honest. We truly dig Fates Warning so much because they weren’t huge. Not having the recognition they deserved is exactly what we liked. Those of us that love these guys are on the fringe of society. We may seem like we fit in but we think and feel different than those around us. If Fates Warning would have been huge we would have looked for another band. Crimson Glory is another in this line. Both deserve recognition for the work they did, but I’m a bit glad it never came. Or I’m an idiot.
Man if I could sound like any band in the world it would be these guys. This is my favorite album of all time. Nobody commands the authority and respect that this record puts foward except VH1. Even that record was a gift to Van Halen from Ted Templeton. These guys are raw and need no producer to make them better. They were in full form when they made this. Far as I am concerned, they blow everyone else away. If you own the No Exit album, seriously, who can compete with this? These guys destroy. Best unknown album of all time. No big Hollywood production, Just raw blistering music. They don't make them like this very often. Album is a freaking classic. Will never be outdone by anyone.
Jeff Moore My man. I agree with everything you said...I just wish these guys could have gotten more recognition. They are one of the most underrated bands ever.
This is one of the bands I can't get enough of. It's a very talented band that in my humble opinion could take you further. But only Ray and Jim stayed in the band, always bringing great things to us.
Jeff moore you said it,i first heard this band wen i was 18yrold now im 47,and still playin guitar with these beats and rythems from this album,to me its unforgetably good, singers voice reminds me of rob halfords
Man this is one of the songs I wish Fates Warning had played it more live, especially in the golden years of Ray Alder's voice. Thanks to the internet I can listen to this song, but there are few records of it live.
Awesome. Now this is a metal video. Man, I wish that MTV back in 93 and 94 would of played more stuff like this instead of that alternative stuff. Hail Fates Warning.
@@todessehnsucht I already know that a lot of this stuff in already on youtube. Just condemning US MTV for being trendy back in the days. More alternative and grunge stuff but no real kick ass metal.

The one vocalist that can hang with Ray Adler is none other than , Rob Salford, this is the most underrated prof metal band, I'm shedding a metal gear that they are still kicking metal ass!!!!
julio cesar Rizo not exit es un gran disco de la banda que los consagro con su gran vocalista Ray Alder, soy cubano y esta es mi gran banda de metal progresivo para mi son los padres del progresivo, que vivan para siempre.
I got into Fates because my best bro gave me a cassette tape of them. It was a "Sampler" with like 5-6 songs on it. This was one of them. along with Through Different Eyes. I was hook so fast.
Singer was amazing, back then. Now he's less than average but the band keeps him on and tones down their music and thinks nobody notices how badly they suck now because of him.
Fates Warning put precience topics out at the time yet speak volumes today...to me this metal song speaks of the unfortunate child too young to understand intentions of actions meant to take advantage of their innocence...that undoubtedly define their development as adults. Time heals but questions remain...
Lol you are so right.I wore my white high top Pumas the f out then wrapped duct tape around them to keep soles on. Always loved Fates.Ray Alder slated Geoff Tate then and probably still now.

Midnight was a true enigma and a great talent. Ted Pilot of Early Fifth Angel and Tony Moore from Riot during “thunder steel and privilege of power era are worth revisiting.
I remember the first time I saw this video, I called a local record store to see if they had it. The guy was being such an arrogant jerk. When I told him the band name was "Fates Warning" he asked in a condescending tone "I think you mean Fair Warning, by Van Halen" I repeated "No Exit by Fates Warning". He scoffed and said "learn your music and call again" the hung up on me. So I went to the store and found it myself. I asked if he was the know-it-all that I spoke to on the phone. He looked at it like it was the first time he ever saw it, then I told the manager who was there he either needed a lot more training (I told him about the conversation on the phone or he really didn't want to do his job. The manager gave me a discount and told him to go get his stuff, that would be the last time he treated customers that way.
They are part of the main prog metal pioneers of the 80's.
🤘🤘🖤
…they are part of the prog scene of eternity!
Imo this is the first true progressive metal album, after that when dream and day unite.
@@feralkitty9378I would say both Warning and Rage for Order prog also.
